I toy with getting the Wampa set every time I see it. The set itself is not that exciting, but the Wampa is great. And it does come with Hoth Luke.

no it won't ... the part arount the neck is way too thick, it looks weird since it's extending the neck. the fairy looks like she has a giraffe-neck

yeah i know it always weirds me out ... the robot is okay
i guess it looks okay because he has an angular head. but the fairy wings look even thicker than the robot-back-thing

Agreed. Wish I had gotten two of them now because the parts are looser due to all the head swapping and hand swapping I have done. But it is worth it.

Yes. The only different ones are in Weathertop. Those horses are black with red eyes. Also keep in mind that the Gandalf set does not come with a saddle.
yeah, I just checked, no saddle, looks odd without it lol so previous Lego horses don't stand on their back legs?

According to LEGO reps at SDCC, it turns out that it is Symbiote Spider-Man (from Secret Wars). Rumor has it that an actual Venom minifig will be revealed today as part of the 2013 line.

Sounds about right, considering the minifig has no mouth. The fig instantely made me thing: Black Spiderman! Not Venom.

Will these newe Symbiote Spiderman and Bizarro Superman etc be released with new sets?
I really don't know what's going on haha, I just saw the pics in this topic.
I love symbiote spiderman btw... the first comic I ever got as a kid had starred the black spiderman.

Amen. I like to build large structures or creatures. Some examples:
Avengers: Quinjet
LOTR: Shelob/Helm's Deep
Monster Fighters: Ghost Train/Haunted House
Playsets just aren't as sexy to display nor as satisfying to build. Thankfully, most Star Wars sets are spaceships, but it's a real bummer when they occasionally don't include any minifigures.

Series 8 looks good to me. None of the figures are really screaming out to me, but I don't own any of their past versions (for those that have them), so that works in my favor.
Pretty obvious that LEGO will reuse existing molds anytime they can (swords used as spider-legs, anyone?)
I'm so glad they are continuing on with the Batman sets, and looks like we're getting some more Justice League type sets, yay

Perfect examples of better sets. I'd be fine with play sets if they looked a little better, but typically they dont. The only one I can think of off the top of my head that is decent is the Batman Funhouse set.
I like at least half of those Series 8 CMF, which is pretty good for me. Will get.
The Super Heroes minifigures are incredible, but I know that's a slippery slope for me... I'm already involved in so many different themes, and trying to catch up on some great sets I missed, it spells nothing but financial ruin for me if I go after all the Marvel and DC stuff I want. But errnnngh, LEGO is making it so hard...
