I think I'm going to start Alan Wake now. The franchise pack has been my only damage in the Steam sale so far (I'm waiting for Assassin's Creed II to go on sale).

I have been playing this today. I like it! I kind of wish the shooty bits used just the flashlight instead and had some interesting mechanic with that, but I am probably alone on this. I'm awful at shooting so it might get too hard for me eventually. I'm kind of afraid of when that will happen. I want to finish it. :<

I played Alan Wake for the first 1/4 or 1/3 and didn't like it so I stopped. I didn't like his character at all at that point, and I really like Remedy as a developer.

I like it so far. A sudden thunderstorm knocked out the power briefly while I was playing, so I'll pick back up tomorrow.

I'm ok with the combat as it is, but I like your idea with the flashlight. I wish devs would get more creative with weaponry sometimes, rather than just relying on guns or normal melee weapons.

the shooting is considered pretty bad in the base game actuly, without a doubt the weakest part,

@Alan Wake convo: I tried the game on X Box but got motion sickness from the choppy frame rate. Only finished the first chapter. I did not really enjoy it, felt just on the fringe of being a ''movie game.''

How similar is Persona 3 to 4?

P3's battle system will seem like a major step backwards if you've only played P4. Your party is completely AI-controlled, aside from being able to "set" them to act in a certain way. Other than that, and how the dungeons are accessed, they are kind of similar. You still get Social Links, Persona Fusions, and the like.
