P3's battle system will seem like a major step backwards if you've only played P4. Your party is completely AI-controlled, aside from being able to "set" them to act in a certain way. Other than that, and how the dungeons are accessed, they are kind of similar. You still get Social Links, Persona Fusions, and the like.

I haven't played P4, rather I watched the Endurance Run instead, and it has somewhat inspired me to attempt RPGs. I've been debating about whether I should try to pick this, P4, or Nocturne up, or just wait until something comes out for the 3DS. To be honest, they may be a little out of my league, as I tend to play RPGs stupidly. Normally I like hard games, but I'm a novice with this genre.

Persona 3 and 4 have easy modes. It takes a lot of pressure out of the time management aspects.

That's good, because that does look nerve-racking.

Largely my issue is that I tend to play too offensively (same with fighting games). I was going to fix this during my playthrough of White, but then I come across new moves that look cool and I don't want to get rid of the old ones I like, so there goes my buffer skills instead. I compensate for this by over-leveling (then subsequently complaining that the game is too easy and has too much level grinding in it). I have a problem. Hopefully I will get over it someday, because while this works in Pokemon I think I'll have my ass handed to me in harder games.

P3FES is the way to go in my opinion. The battle system is frustrating, and you will occasionally get wiped and lose a lot of progress. Same in 4, but in 3 you might die because you can't control your party and they are being a dumbass.

P3P is pretty good too, you can play as a female protagonist, but a lot of things have been simplified, and no cutscenes. Animated cutscenes were pretty low quality in 3 anyways, and relatively infrequent.

I say either FES straight through, or P3P and then "the answer" epilogue in FES.

General advice- massive games. Think about 100hours unless you speedrun it. You will also lose a few hours total from your party getting wiped. Less so as you level up, because of items, being more powerful, and being better, but always a danger. Fairly repetitive. 80% of it is a dungeon crawl through something like 250 floors of dungeon.

I own but haven't played Nocturne yet. I liked the story of P3 better than P4, but 4 had the better cast overall.

When I lose to a boss in an RPG, I will grind out of spite so that I destroy them the next time.

I lost to the final boss in FFXIII-2 once, so I went and cleared out every single other thing I could do in the game, raised Twilight Odin to his maximum, and maxed out Serah and Noel. Next time I fought the boss, he couldn't even complete an attack cycle.

P4 is much easier on newbies than P3. No AI to screw you over. No stamina during dungeon runs. No Death chasing you off the stage (was that just in P3P?).

Also, once you get the fox leveled up in P4, you can pretty much dungeon and level as much as you want, so there's really not much of a rush against the calendar year.

To be fair death isn't a problem unless you are totally fucking around or want to fight him.

Just played through Walking Dead Episode 1. Highly recommend people pick this up while it's a daily. Some great work so far.

Also was thinking, "What, you can't even see anything." Alas, it was a post-edited avatar again. At least you aren't stuck in a jar.

edit: Damn it I forgot to cancel playstation plus and they charged me for another 3-months.

Walking Dead is awesome. Go grab episode 2. :D

So far I've bought Age of Empires 3 collection (for Dan), Age of Empires online with the DLC (kinda regretting that now), Trine collection, Terraria and LA: Noire. I think that is enough for this summer!

I'm a lazy PC gamer, so I rarely buy them :(

Inanna not enough!

I've owned a few PC games for the past like...four years, and barely touched them. Haha. When I'm on a computer, it's usually to chat with people or go on the internet.

Yeah, this stopped me for a while since I like chatting with friends, which was actually fine when I had a laptop! Now I just don't fullscreen the game and stream online with the chat windows surrounding the game. Works out well and I can still pop in and join in conversations. O:

I am poor! :( Besides Dan and I bought 12 or so games very recently. Probably not gonna play more than half of those. I think I have gone off gaming lately because there isn't anything worthwhile coming out on PSN. I just don't enjoy playing on steam as much because all the people I love playing with and my real life friends are on PSN! I don't have anyone to play with on steam and I enjoy co-op/multi games A LOT. Waiting for Borderlands 2 so I can get it for PS3 and play the shit out of it with my friends.

As long as you played Journey... I don't remember if you did. :O

Yep, played it got the white rob, helped out a lot of people online get the rob as well but after you playthrough it a few times there isn't much to do after that.

I have UC3, BF3 and ME3 to play currently but I'm kind of burnt out on these 3 so taking a little break until Borderlands 2 comes out in September (I think?).

Heh, well we have really different tastes in games! :p

This is what I do as well, unless it's a game I care about the story for. It really is a great system!

Was more poking fun! I actually need to save a bit for some trips coming up. Have you tried Gotham City Imposters? It's free on PS+ and surprisingly deep/fun. I played it with another gaffer last night.

Oh good. :} Loved Journey.

Playing Nier, waiting on KH3D...then it's wait until Assassin's Creed 3.

I bought five hundred copies of Duke Nukem Forever.
