What are those tentacle pieces?

Edit: My Goodness @ that Batcave and the Steampunk Star Wars MOCs. Loooove the Tie Fighter.

I don't know the piece number, but they appear to be like the feet from 7327 Scorpion Pyramid.

I didn't think to ask the guy what the tentacle pieces were. It looks like the tip of each tentacle is the piece that nicoga3000 referred to, but it looks to me like the pieces that connect the tips to the body are different (ie- they have a constant diameter and don't slim down to a point at one end). And we definitely need more steampunk Star Wars!
Love the mini-figure that's piloting the b-wing...

Here are the parts used for the tentacles:

'Animal Tail Section End' (40379) : http://peeron.com/inv/parts/40379

Going to the Lego Store this weekend for the first time. Looking to pick up my first huge set...not sure which one though! I like all of these, but want to know what would be the most fun/best set to pick from:

Grand Emporium - http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Grand-Emporium-10211
Pet Shop - http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Pet-Shop-10218
Volkswagen Camper Van - http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Volkswagen-T1-Camper-Van-10220
Shuttle Expedition - http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Shuttle-Expedition-10231
Fire Brigade - http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Fire-Brigade-10197

Also stupid question - any coupons? :P

I only own fire brigade out of that list but it was really fun to build and is really pretty. I think it will also be the first off that list to go away forever. Definitely get it if you get one of the buildings.

Fire Brigade will go out of print soon. That is the only reason I bought it first when it came to the modulars. I thought both Grand Emporium and Pet Shop were superior builds. Pet Shop is also nice because it is 2 separate buildings and can easily be built in stages.

If you're going to be one of those Modular types, grab Fire Brigade. It's considered the best of the Modulars AND it's going OOP soon. Shuttle Expedition is a FANTASTIC set as well, so it's worth checking out. Your wallet will hate you unless you're careful! :P

As for coupons, they tend to come about once a month to LEGO VIP members (or those who sign up for the magazine delivered to their door). And on top of that, those coupons are VERY coveted pieces. We seldom give them away, haha (no offense or anything...they're just a VERY hot commodity). TRU has 20% off sales once in a while, but it's VERY hard to get the Modulars or larger sets.

Shuttle or VW camper. I love my modular buildings but had more fun with those two sets.

Sweet - Fire Brigade it is then, providing they'll have it in stock! Saturday can't get here fast enough!
If you're in the US, Shuttle Expedition is 10% off on amazon and has been forever. I finally ordered cuz it showed up in my daily deals for another $5 off so I got it for $85 free s/h.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this - you guys may've and just may not care - but toysrus.com is advertising big savings on LEGO sets this week. Turns out, they'll all just marked down to MSRP. So you're saving $20 to $30 on sets, but it's just putting them inline with what they SHOULD cost. I found it so outrageous, I had to share it with you. Absolutely hilarious and brutal.

Toys R Us is usually shit-tastic when it comes to Lego, but thanks to a store here, I was able to get an entire unopened box of the Olympic minifigs even though they only had a few to begin with. But, yeah their prices are worth scoffing at.

That's TRU for you. The big savings comes in when you buy a larger set (which is sometimes at MSRP) and use a 20% off coupon. Hopefully they'll stack discounts.

I was actually a bit pissed at TRU this weekend when I got my Unimog. I used the coupon to knock the price down to $160, but they wouldn't let me get the minifig promotion. The promo was "Buy any LEGO construction set and get a free Series 7 minifig!" But the lady said "Sorry, only one promotion." I was not happy.

I find it amusing, we've been telling everybody for months to get the as it will be oop very soon, and yet it continues to be sold seemingly indefinitely xD

I think I mentioned earlier that the employees of the Lego store near me keep saying it'll be the fall.

Either way-I'm going to take the plunge soon. I just need to find a time when my wife isn't looking.

I'm pretty sure they stop PRINTING them at a certain date (during the major rollouts), but stock continues to be available until the warehouse is all gone.

That being said, 2-2.5 years is pretty much acceptable for these sets. Given that it's not shown in the catalogs anymore, it's going soon. :P

Hoping to pick it up in the next month. Pet Shop and Town Hall look like better builds but i'm keen to snatch up Fire Brigade while I can.

Lots of lovely tan bricks too :)

Town Hall is a rather bland build until the roof. The roof is aces though. And the set does look fantastic once completed.
But Fire Brigade is just godly. Especially the second floor. Get that first, town hall last. Mainly due to availability.

Winter Village fans!

Word on the street is that this year's set - 10229 will be the Winter Village Cottage. I'm hoping by that they mean a ski chalet.

That's the Post Office - the 2011 set. You can still get it, though LEGO stores usually only stock it during the season. Only one has been discontinued so far - the Toy Shop.

That Friends advent calendar will be mine- hope it's full of awesome food/utensil pieces.

Was Grand Emporium released before or after the Fire Brigade? It never seems to get mentioned much but it looks pretty good.

I'm stoked to hear we're getting another entry in the winter village. I'm glad it's caught on; my favorite line along with the modulars!

And the description on Eurobricks sounds like it'll bring a fun pop of color. Blue bricks with a snowy roof. Nice!

Grand Emporium is fantastic, and was released a year after Fire Brigade. The build is great and it is probably my favorite modular overall, but you have more time to get that one. Fire Brigade is oop soon.

Interesting. I love my modulars as well but when forced to really think about it I would say that the Avengers Quinjet was the most fun and enjoyable build I have done so far. By the time Town Hall was complete, I was over it! I did assemble 4 modulars in 3 weeks though.

What does everyone think the next Modular will be? Looking at my sets (Grand Emporium, Pet Shop, Town Hall, and Fire Brigade) I cannot help but think some sort of restaurant is needed. Even if it was just a burger or pizza joint of some sort. A train or bus depot would work as well. I'm just trying to think of what hasn't been covered and what this little city needs in order to function. A Hotel and grocery were covered in previous sets. If they want to make another corner building, I think a theater would be fantastic. The two I was thinking about building myself are a comedy club and an ice crem parlor. Both would need a few floors above them with living quarters to keep the size in line with existing buildings, but I think the block needs somthing fun to do!

Went ahead and bit on the Millennium Falcon for $107. Just another box to add to my log. Anyway...

I've been thinking that a theater would make for a fantastic modular. Imagining the options for building a mini-theater, I think that would make for a pretty fantastic build and there are a lot of different ways they could go. Or maybe a building that involves a garage (ala FB)? Perhaps a DMV and the set includes about a hundred minifigs, so you can line them up out the door like in real life? I dunno'

Looks like this guy is ahead of both of us:

Holy shit at that Diner/Theater combo!

The winter sets are so adorable. Ugh it's the modulars all over again, my soul has to accept the burning knowledge that I'll probably never get the OoP one. Might even be two if I don't buy the bakery this year...

Did he give the set numbers? It's hard to tell from the pics how much stuff total it is. I'd probably go for it if it works out for a good piece value, but none of those sets excite me. I'd buy them to MOC.

No set numbers, but Town Hall is included. Unfortunately, he only shows the main floor, and I havent heard back if all the parts are there.

Oh that's THE Town Hall? Hmm, if it's even mostly there plus all the other stuff, that's a great deal just for pieces.

After checking eBay to figure out the sets, it seems the Town Hall is actually from the Town Plan anniversary set, as he also has the gas station from that set.

Taking into account the serious price-gouging, who's actually going to pick up the B-Wing the instant it's available? I'm planning on it. I actually don't have any sets that I want between now and then (Oct 1), so I can justify the cost.

That's the grandson of the founder of LEGO. The set is a limited release, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the modern LEGO brick.
