The Dark Knight Rises is the most entertaining of Christopher Nolan’s Batfilms, but it is certainly not the best. Is it the worst? I’m not quite sure. I’m also not quite sure if it’s a bad film or not. The whole movie feels so like a series of contradictions - bloated and long yet rushed, deeply serious yet utterly silly, politically minded yet ultimately vapid - that being both wildly entertaining and a bad movie would be exactly right for it.

Well guys in here are saying they were real spoilers, then yes. Unless I saw something different. This thread was supposed to be the one place not to get fucked over. Disgusted.

Devin Faraci and that banned bitch can both go fuck themselves.

I think I'll stick to the NBA thread and never enter a movie thread again.

I'm really sorry that you got spoiled, but will you guys please stop talking about the nature of the spoilers lest the rest of us read something we don't want to.

Again, confirming that something is accurate spoilers is just as bad as spoiling. So whoever just confirmed those were real spoilers is being real stupid.
 
The temptation even with the thread title to account suicide and spoil the film for other people is much too great for some idiots to resist it seems and it's only going to get worse as the week goes on..

Time to bail out until I see the film now methinks.

Seriously a few days ago there was another junior who spammed major spoilers in here. Some gaffer said they are not true. I really hope so but it's still not confirmed. I don't wanna know if it's true or not. Just show me the goddamn movie so i can end my nightmares :/

Eh, it wouldn't surprise me. I'm expecting TDKR to be in equal parts epic and vacuous. The philosophical themes didn't work in Batman Begins, and they didn't work in The Dark Knight. I've not got much hope for anything different with The Dark Knight Rises.

Edit: So, the film will be grand and expertly constructed, but, at its core, a bit nonsensical.

Pretty much. Nolan is just too heavy-handed with the themes he wants to explore in his Batman films, and they often end up being the least interesting aspects of this franchise.
 
Have been avoiding everything about this movie, including this thread, but I am just popping in to say that I just booked my tickets for a midnight screening on Thursday morning. Only 28 hours to go!

Ugh why have I been lazy on the ticket book front? Closest imax is sold out until Monday. I could wait, but I fear someone will spoil the movie for me if I don't catch it at a non imax theatre.

Hehe, here in Holland, Pathe is doing a Dark Knight marathon which begins Thursday at 00:00. By the time you've seen all three movies, it must be eight o clock in the morning or something, right? :D
