I just dislike how huge the cockpit and arm things are in comparison to how thin the rest of the body is.
If it had one big rotor on top it might have looked more balanced.

I'm not a huge fan of its design either, but then I didn't really like the Batpod either and it eventually won me over.

I don't understand how people can find so many connections from the Nolan films to them arguing on behalf or against a major political party. I mean, yes it may have some commentary on the human condition and how we act, but they have never seemed to sway to either side. The fuck man?

Nope, I'm just checking out the rotten reviews and saw it listed first. I dunno if he didn't like the other films or what, but it seems directly in the wheelhouse of Faraci so I wasn't expecting to see a negative review from him.

Devin has never, and will never care for Batman. He just doesn't like the character and brings his politics into it every time he discusses him.

And don't get him started on Batman fans, which he thinks are somehow different from every crazy fanboy cliq on the internet. He wrote that article about Batman fans yesterday, yet never said a word when Amy Nicholson at boxoffice.com was harassed for giving the first negative review of Avengers. Can't let people know that all fanboys react the same way, it's only those crazy Bat fans.

Because political activists on both sides:

a) Have no life
b) See politics in everything, even entertainment
c) Must turn everything into politics.

I think the one in charleston is liemax. sometimes the digital ones are actual giant screens like legit imax, but they're not 15/70 imax film. the one in raleigh is like that i think, its 70 feet wide but its digital

the one we have in charlotte is 15/70, but its a domed screen

So you're telling me I should have went to Charlotte? I think you're right. I'm driving from good ol' Sumter and Charlotte is 30 minutes closer than Charleston. I hate that I made that mistake but I'm sure everything is sold out in Charlotte and I can't get a refund for my tickets at Charleston.

Eh.

Some people think 15/70 is the only TRUE IMAX

There is digital which can be good or bad.

Some are big screens - 3 stories tall

Some are just regular theatre with small screen/big price
This is LIEMAX for sure

You can't tell without calling your theatre

Some people like this guy.
If you have a 3 story screen it is going to look amazing and well worth the price.

I'm not sure how tall it is. I'll call and ask.

That little fucker won me over the second he burst from his mothers womb.

It did for me too, but the production pics and some of the trailers weren't doing it for me until I saw it in the context of the movie. That was a great introduction to the vehicle.

I'd just see it on a liemax screen first and then maybe see it later on the dome screen in charlotte if you feel like it...its a completely different experience. i'm pretty sure tickets are still available for the discovery place omnimax for everything except 12:01 am

3.5/4 stars, although he still thinks TDK is better, and Bane compared to Joker is "It's like comparing Alan Rickman's bad guy in Die Hard to the adequate, generic one who followed in Die Hard 2."

Good thing I find Joker super overrated aside from the performance. Joker had zero depth so it's not like Bane could possibly be any worse.

Which is pretty damning

That seems really out of place with the rest of the review. Hardy won't get a nomination in the same way Neeson didn't, but he's fantastic.

As good as Ledger is, I honestly do think the only reason he won was because he died. The Oscars love sentimentalism.

Am I the only person that liked Dent/Two Face more than Joker?

Oh hell no. Way better character with development and an actual arc. I understand that Joker is Joker and isn't a character that really needs development or an arc as he's settled in his ways, but that does open his character up for criticism as far as I'm concerned.

I think in the context of TDK he worked perfectly. Harvey was the centre of the film, and Joker worked incredibly well as this anarchic force with no background, no development. Maybe over the course of a few films he'd need it, or if he was the focus point. But no, I think he worked perfectly in tandem with the rest of the film.

Pretty sure this has been discussed already and understood but once posters start seeing this movie lets keep this thread spoiler free. Feel free to post your impressions and wether you liked it, but no spoilers please.

There is a separate thread for the spoilers.

Is this being shown thursday morning? A couple places have tickets for thursday morning at 12:01 but nothing on friday until like 11AM. Is this a mess up by fandango or is the game actually being shown at 3 AM on thursday?

I completely agree. Definitely won't argue there, but that's my reasoning for liking Dent much more.

I was under the impression that after Friday spoilers could be posted, I guess that's not true? I hope I'm wrong since I was going to avoid this thread til I see the movie. I'll probably avoid it anyway, just in case.

When it hits Friday I'm going to post a link to the review I've written (which isn't a structured review, more just things about the film) and then open up the spoiler thread in conjunction with this one. Really don't want to ruin it for anyone.

It'll probably be like the Avengers thread where the OT is just for casual impressions for the first weekend or so, with a spoiler topic being where the real plot discussion takes place.

Nope. Eckhart gets better with every rewatch, with a more limited role. Not to discredit Ledger, but Joker as written was much more elastic in its potential to be great or terrible.

THIS.

I still wish Nolan had gone with Two- Face as the villain in this one.

Yeah, on my rewatch last night was actually my first time thinking about Dent's coin being two headed when he was threatening the Rachel name tag guy. Made me enjoy him and that scene even more, don't know why I hadn't thought about that before.
