God damn my 8am-10pm life!

It retains the more grounded feel of TDK, but there are locations and images which really feel like throwbacks to the broader "comic bookiness" of Begins.

This is a real "comic book" film - not as much a crime epic.

Ok, thanks. What ratio of "grounded/tdk feel" to "comic bookiness/bb feel" would you say?

TNT is showing TDK on Fri night for those who might want to catch up on it and don't own the blu ray.

Why is this movie on less screens than DH2 and Twilight of all movies? Is that based on money hatz, run time, or demand?

Okay, well any time Catwoman or Bane is on-screen it feels like we are in Begins - they are operating at a level of very sly camp - still 'realistic', but ever so slightly broad. I mean, these are comic characters and they truly feel that way. The evil 'plot' is also very, very comic book, in a way that the Joker's anarchy was not.

But whenever the movie turns novelistic and deals with all of its sub-characters, corporate intrigue, the dealings of the police, etc - it feels more grounded in the manner of TDK.

Ultimately it is a 50/50 split - people will love or be disappointed by this depending on how they feel about the past two entries.

If you liked Begins and TDK equally, you'll like this. If you like one or the other much more, then this is likely to make you feel divided.

That's one too many arrows, don't undersell it now!

Agreed. TDKR is extremely close in quality to Begins and TDK. To be honest, Begins has the weakest script in the trilogy and the most 'on-the-nose' dialogue. I personally can't get behind an opinion that puts Begins as the best of the trilogy.

Agreed. I liked that there were more comic book parts of this film than TDK, and a few more fist pumping hell yeah moments like in BB.

No guarantee. The day business on Sat will decide it (IMO).

Yeah I would like to say it'd be locked, but regardless of what it does Friday, we need to see if it's retaining at least the day-day audience without midnights the following day. Probably can't drop more than 5% the following day if at all.
