Yes, but imagine if you're in combat and doing a weird platforming sequence. Also, you can still get glitched out in combat. One gaffer talked about the Spider boss in Darksiders 1 glitched out, basically killing him by "locking" him into place. Stuff like that can happen in games, even with thousands of hours of playtesting.

If it's anything like the first game, the design of the game is not based around 1 life IMO. That works in games like Binding of Isaac or Spelunky that you can beat in 30 minutes.
In a long actionRGP with lots of story it's just tedious. It's OK to have a mode like that as a novelty I guess, but it's just a badly designed achievement if there is one like that.
