It's fast food people! A bunch of bigots run a fast food joint and you can't see beyond your stomachs to do the right thing. Go to zaxbys or bojangles or KFC. It's all the same. High sodium processed chicken with some red pepper.

How far does it have to go? Would you continue buying food there if the owners advocated physical violence against gays?

But they don't.

Not at all. The food and service are leagues above any other fast food place. I was waiting in a long line once and by the time I got to the counter they apologized for the wait and gave me my meal for free.

Not a big deal, the owners are entitled to their beliefs, and customers are entitled to stop eating there if they so choose based on that information.

If it was cool for the US to use ex-Nazi scientists to gain an edge in the postwar world, it's okayish to still like Chik-Fil-A. Their stores smell pretty goddamned good.

Just picked up some Chick Fil A man that smell is awesome!

Who the hell actually likes bragging about stuff like this? Great job, you look like an ass!

I don't get it

If only Hitler had made tasty chicken sandwiches, people might have gone easier on him.

Some of the responses in this thread are unreal, you would think that bigot restaurant was giving out free money and blowjobs.

That's pretty lame that a fast food company as a whole is so anti-gay. Fortunely, I don't really eat there, but fuck do they have some awesome lemonade. Seriously, That stuff is amazing.

they would probably have to go as far to affect him personally. how lucky it is for people to not be part of a minority without equal rights.

Rather shop at a place where the company's leaders have their views out in the open than at companies which do horrible shit and I just don't know it.

There are worse things in this world than being against gay marriage, such as child labor and, arguably, killing chickens.

They are some of the nicest people. I don't get how...

Not gonna disagree re: child labor

but you think killing chickens is worse than people being considered second class citizens?

i

i can't

Not me personally, but some philosophers have argued all animals have rights and killing an animal is a more egregious act than not allowing two people to marry.

So if you donate money to pro-gay marriage groups and do other things to fight for gay rights but still eat Chick-Fil-A, does the first cancel the second out?

Someone said earlier that it would, so all I have to do is that and it's all good.

It's funny, you make posts like the previous two in the thread yet you question why people don't take you seriously in other topics.
I apologize for allowing my wife to eat.

I'll owe you a rain check on this one gay people. I'll make it up somewhere down the road, but not giving up Chik-Fil-A.
As many people on GAF know, i am gay.

As for this? Long story short i will continue to eat chik-fil-a and continue to not give a shit what their "beliefs" or "views" are. Life is too damn short and instead of a rain check just get me a number 1 combo with a large waffle fry and we are all good :)

They are some of the nicest people. I don't get how...
Probably because not everyone who works at chik-fil-a is racist or hates gay people.

I don't eat at Chick-fil-a anymore, myself. Not that withholding my business cancels out all the suburbanites that crowd those places.

It's a Mormon owned company, they are even closed on Sundays. Dems holy chikkens
Just because they're anti-gay doesn't mean they're Mormon. Chick-fil-a is from Atlanta and the founders are Southern Baptist.

Man... I knew they were very religious so this isnt surprising. I never thought i would be questioning whether or not ill eat there though. There's literally one juust up the street. :l

Anytime you're in South East PA, you got it. I'll even chuck in a milkshake too!

So a private company with a long record/public policy regarding their religious principles donates a small amount of their profits towards groups that represent those values. Not really seeing the major issue here.

Are you going to hold every company to this same moral outrage litmus test?

I first had Chick-Fil-A before I knew about their stance, and I thought the food was terrible. Not a tough decision to continue to not eat there.

No one has asked this question and no one has answered it...

Oh, wait, no.

Read the thread.

When companies give material support to vile causes, you mean?

Owners are colossal douche bags, but I have eaten there on occasion even after I found out that they were raving lunatics. Im hungry bro. But anyways their food is decent, I have never understood why folks found it vastly better than most other fast food though. Its all just mush to me.

I remember years ago when they first opened one of them out here in Olathe, people at work were going fucking apeshit to drive over and get some food, it incredibly ridiculous.

I personally think supporting companies which use third-world child labor is worse than supporting a company which keeps first-world couples from marrying. The children have no other life than working extremely long hours in horrible conditions. Though it is shitty first-world same sex couple cannot marry, they still have a decent first-world life where they can live together and have sex and still have some benefits. Oh, and they still have a ton of other freedoms.

I bet your computers parts were not put together under the best of conditions.

I... umm....

...and for those of us who, given the choice, will always pick the least morally questionable option? Some people do care you know. We're not all completely apathetic to the scummy inner workings of these companies.
Given the choice, yes, I'll always pick the least objectionable option. Why is this so difficult to understand? It's not like one restaurant is putting money towards anti-gay causes, one putting money towards discriminating against black people, etc. It's just this one fast food place to be avoided.
