Guild Wars 2 Launch Date announced: August 28th, 2012

Hmm, I'm watching some streams of new players trying out this game it so far it doesn't look that compelling. Is it just because they don't' know what the fuck they're doing, or that cool stuff doesn't happen until later...?

haven't really noticed many changes for the Thief. Like, they haven't touched 95% or more of the traits/skills for that class.

eviscerate was nerfed though

who is recruiting members for the GAF guild on Gate of Madness?

As of last beta I don't think there was a way to get to the overflow server of your friend. Basically overflow server is just a fancy way of saying "instanced", and there's no way to change to a different instance.

Weird, i'm playing with a friend and we get on the same overflow servers.
 
I swear, if any of you guys make an Asura, we're never grouping. This character creator is going to haunt my dreams.

You need to play it for yourself, it's fun.
 
I enjoy it for two very distinct reasons: Combat is tight and satisfying, but there's a good amount of non-combat stuff to do. I really wish that there was more, but I kind of just accept that won't be happening too often in modern MMOs.
 
Remember all no need to create another guild or anything. We have one and it is cross-server so just message Jira or Retro for an invite online.
 
Asura thief. The best. Just wanted to do the starting area. Sad to see character wipes but eh, no biggy. This game is going to be huuuuge!
 
I have no idea how to install this Total Game Control Profile and get Auto Hot Key working. I don't even know how to bind keys.
 
IF A FRIEND IS IN AN OVERFLOW SERVER AND IN YOUR PARTY THEN YOU CAN RIGHT-CLICK AND JOIN THEM.

IF YOU'RE ON THE MAIN SERVER AND THEY ARE ON OVERFLOW THEY CANNOT JOIN YOU. YOU MUST GO TO THEM.

THIS WAS FIXED FOR BWE2.
 
So this is my first beta even since I was afraid to prebuy it not knowing if it would run on my system. My pc is E8400, 4gb ram and a 6750gt. Game runs great. Great game so far I'm day 1 for sure. Btw been trying to get a ginvite for hours but no reply...

Ah, I see. Do you have their contact info? The things where it's retro.XXXX or Jira.XXXX. That's the only way I can PM them.

Or I'll take a look on the GAF mumble server...
 
I am going out on a limb here and I don't ever ask for stuff like this but my account is having some major issues and now NCsoft says they can't figure out why its not linked.

if anyone has a beta key they could share I would greatly appreciate it.

Don't suppose anyone could sell me on the CE? Unless you guys would agree that I shouldn't get the CE? All I really want is the collector tin case thing. I have no interest in the figure and I have a feeling the artbook will be neglected about a year or two down the line.

I got onto the GoM but I transferred back to the Henge. Shame it had to go down like this. Gate of Madness sounds way better than the Henge of Denravi.

in the game write this in the chat section : /whisper

then 2 boxes will open , the first one put the name of Retro or Jira , then in the other the message


the asura starting map is so awesome
 
You know "that feeling" you get when you know you'll play a game for at least a couple years? Yeah, I'm getting that. Been playing for 4 hours or so. And I'm not bored.

I'm moving to Henge for now to play with irl friends. It seems we'll have to split between Worlds for now.

It's good to know of this issue now rather than at launch.
 
Having played an Asura Engineer to a whopping level 5, I know this is going to be my main.

Time to roll something else to avoid spoilers...
 
My game keeps crashing on both of my characters that are standing outside the Asura gates in Lions Arch.

I sent an error report, and I hope reinstalling everything fixes this :/
 
Wow, couldn't even finish 20 minutes of Asura or w/e the little guys were ... just didn't like anything that happened.

Going to play a Charr as I'm saving Sylvari for my main at launch.
 
Can we visit servers in BWE? Didn't find a way to do so.
 
I had thought this beta was the optimization beta, game still runs like crap for what's on screen. Game struggles to hit low 50's with everything on low or off at 1080p. Everything on a mix of high/medium struggles to maintain 40 fps. These fps are literally just standing around outside the Norn hut you log into, with maybe 7 npcs in view and a few players running around. Noticing a lot of pop up, even on the highest settings too, which is disappointing.
 
Man the art made the Sylvari pretty good looking so I wanted to try that out but they turned out to literally be trees :lol Made a Norn but the start wasn't so fun and the female Norn voice is hideous (should have expected though since they're basically barbarians) so I just made a Human instead cause they were the hottest.

Elementalist is turning out to be fun. The class with guns looks really cool though. Is engineer any fun? I don't know how to feel about building turrets and stuff..

It runs far from perfect, but WAAAAY better for me. Last BWE it was unplayable in medium, now I'm rocking almost everything on high an have very few problems. With a freaking Radeon 6850.
 
My computer doesn't give a fuck and the game runs flawlessly.

This is a pretty fun game(first MMO I ever tested), started out as a human engineer, did some quests, warped over to Asura town to meet up with some friends, got killed by Jaguars. Went apeshit on some frogs. I might even continue playing.

They only said that they did some optimization but aren't finished.
 
Game is running so much better for me.

All low settings for the most part

6879 1GB
C2D E8400
8GB DDR2

Oldie but a goodie! Plan to update after I get back from vacation in September so hopefully will be playing in all its glory after launch
