Personally I tend to just treat women...like people. Do I do some things that may be specifically geared towards them, such as ignoring them to a degree and acting more confident than I might act amongst some male friends? Sure. Everyone handles things differently, but TO ME the general rule is to treat them like people. That alone can make you stand out, compared to a lot of dudes who harass chicks daily with corny lines and bullshit.

Not impossible, just wholly ineffective for the majority of men out there.
99% of men out there are good guys. They have interesting things about them, and positive character traits. The ones that succeed with women are those that make an immediate impression, get their attention, and offer something DIFFERENT than the 99% of the other guys saying 'Hi, come here often' or 'Hi I noticed you across the bar and thought I'd say hi'. This actually gives them the chance to show their positive traits, whereas most guys lose a woman's interest before they have a chance.
You don't like the lines or strategies in the PUA scene? Me neither. I make up my own shit now that I've internalized the whole notion that a woman should be impressing me, not the other way around. But that, in of itself, is already a different approach than 90% of the guys out there.

The sexes are divided, like it or not. That's a fact of life. I get why you're put off by the pick up lingo, but it's really just a codification of observed phenomena and human psychology. A lot of the stuff that pick up artists use to describe women also applies to men. It just so happens that the pickup community is largely composed of men, so they are only interested in applying these techniques to women.

You would be SHOCKED how often lines like that work PERFECTLY to end a conversation and grab a number. That's one of the few examples of a line from the PUA scene I still use.

I don't define any woman that doesn't have sex with me as an enemy. I'm such saying I'd rather have a hostile relationship with a woman than be friends with a woman I want to have sex with.
I sometimes wonder how effective these tactics are. It sounds creepy and outlandish when you first learn about it, but there could be something to it. The way natural human interactions are observed and quantified in such an objective manner makes me think of how a true psychopath might understand human interaction, completely unattached to the emotion behind what we are doing. Psychopaths can be absolutely charming too, probably because they are able to see human interaction in a clear sequence of action-reaction and adjust accordingly.
I'm married so I can't do it myself, but it would be interesting to see what the results would be. I consider myself reasonably good looking and charming naturally, so I wonder what sort of effect this real life min/maxing would have.

I watched the "daygame" video with that sasha dude on the first page and it kind of reminded me of those people who try to get you to sign up to a charity on the street. Be upbeat and friendly and eventually someone will cave becuase they're too nice/self conscious to say no bluntly and just want to get on their way, secretly hoping that the charity never calls.
