Has anyone here seen Rick Santorums twitter page recently?

This guy really loves showing how much he hates gay people.

Jesus. That kind is such a creep. Edit: Someone should tweet something to him about gay sex and inviting people to it or something crazy like that.

Honestly, the first tweet doesn't bother me, but his need to talk about how much he enjoys Chick-Fil-A (are they actually called chick-in strips?) is as mature as the posts that got people banned in this thread. I mean, I know it's Rick Santorum, but Christ.

He wouldn't last long on NeoGAF.
Haha, yep.

"RT @RickSantorum: With two of my boys, Enjoying chick-in-strips and an awesome peach shake at Chick-fil-A. || Still loves frothy mixtures!"

"More boys and it would have seemed kinda gay."

Some of the better responses I've seen.

Headed since 2003 by former Louisiana State Rep. Tony Perkins, the FRC has been a font of anti-gay propaganda throughout its history. It relies on the work of Robert Knight, who also worked at Concerned Women for America but now is at Coral Ridge Ministries (see above for both), along with that of FRC senior research fellows Tim Dailey (hired in 1999) and Peter Sprigg (2001). Both Dailey and Sprigg have pushed false accusations linking gay men to pedophilia: Sprigg has written that most men who engage in same-sex child molestation “identify themselves as homosexual or bisexual,” and Dailey and Sprigg devoted an entire chapter of their 2004 book Getting It Straight to similar material. The men claimed that “homosexuals are overrepresented in child sex offenses” and similarly asserted that “homosexuals are attracted in inordinate numbers to boys.”

Chick-Fil-A donates to these guys apparently.

It's the latest in a long series of events where I've seen this passive aggressive angst in regards to a backlash concerning gay rights issues.

I'm seeing all kinds of lame attempts to claim hypocrisy for anyone who is anti-anti.

"I can't stand when people claim to be accepting, and then campaign against the acceptance of certain beliefs!"

The timing is rather obvious.. I'm suddenly seeing these comments pop up on Facebook and on forums.

I can just imagine entire churches full of people complaining about the chick-fl-a backlash, and discussing how horribly oppressed they are... and instructing their members on what to say to people and how to explain how wrong their oppression is.

I imagine many pamphlets being drawn up to help them deal with "what to say" when confronted with the evil bigoted anti-anti-gay agenda people.

That statement is funny, because I saw a comment as part of an argument last night asking why are Christians always labeled as being hateful and bigoted... Well...

It's so awesome to see Chicago, Boston and The Henson Company stand up to these bigots. It's also nice to come back to this thread and not see some Gaffers gloating about wanting to eat this bigot food.

Three older kids @sarah_santorum @dansantorum @johnsantorum just joined us at Chick-fil-A. They like Chick-fil-A sauce on everything!

I love the argument that if people in favor of gay marriage were really so accepting then they'd accept archaic bigoted beliefs. It's just a weak and sleazy way to make them feel like they're the victim.

It's so much sadder than that. These people who are bigots and support bigoted practices seem to actually believe they are caring for homosexuals and actually care for them as people. They've deluded themselves into believing this falsity and when confronted with their bigotry, they can't figure it out on any reasonable level. It's so sad. I've seen it on here many times, where members think they are above the bigotry label despite being bigots.

People should have the right to boycott whatever they want without getting all sorts of backlash for it. The right to boycott is fundamental to commerce.

That said, I don't think anybody who eats at Chick-Fil-A needs to be labeled as a hater of all things gay. That's a tad extreme, I feel.

Of course not.

As science strongly suggests, many of them are in the closet.

Unfortunately, when they shit in the faces of others (like Santorum) by actively engaging in the commerce to spite a populace of people, they are labeled correctly.

Well to eat there antagonistically is different than just eating there. And yes, as ridiculous as it sounds to say it, Rick is eating their antagonistically.

Antagonistic eating. I had to say once more because it sounds so silly.

I think very few people could rightfully shit on every person who isn't boycotting them without being a hypocrite.

Most people turn a blind eye to what the products they buy represent or contribute to. That includes most people who protest or boycott certain products.

Unlike Chick-Fil-A the family that owns In-N-Out Burger are extremely private and haven't voiced their opinion about gay rights issues.

Also unlike Chick-Fil-A, AFAIK they have made no donations to anti-gay groups.

Also unlike Chick-Fil-A, I'm unaware of In-N-Out having any discriminatory hiring practices or firing Muslim employees for not participating in prayer.

What is the story on this. I've never heard of cfa doing this. It doesn't surprise me, but I havent heard it.

Google led me to Wikipedia.

Religious discrimination

Chick-fil-A's connection to Christianity has been brought before the courts when Aziz Latif, a Houston-based Muslim employee for six years, sued the company in 2002 for firing him, alleging that he was fired for his religious beliefs when he had refused to take part in an employee prayer.[31] The suit was settled on undisclosed terms.[32]

I really shouldn't read the comments on The Jim Henson Company Facebook page while I'm at work, it's making me angry. It's also kind of hilarious.

VERY DISAPPOINTED in your company, which was BUILT on children of FAMILIES!!! How can you NOW "cave in" to the whims of less than 3% of the population ?! QUEERS may proclaim their lifestyle as "the new normal"; but it is not OUR new normal !! I'm sorry" that hole is for stuff to come out of, NOT the other way around !!" I will NEVER buy another muppet product !! AND I will spend the $$$ at Chick - fil- A instead.

Edit:

On a related note, if this woman is so against gay men having sex shouldn't she be all for them getting married to each other?

Someone is not getting any anal sex for christmas.

Denying a permit for Chick fil A is stupid. What next, are they going to ban gas stations because oil companies say global warming isn't real? What about churches against gay marriage, should they be banned or at least stripped of non profit?

A town or city can deny a business all they want. If they feel it sets a bad precedent, harms other business or does not like the environmental impact they have the right to keep it out. If you think this is a bad thing, then lol.

As a gay man, I find it incredibly ironic that money I gave Chick-Fil-A may have been used to support an organization that is against me. :(

Lots of people and organizations have both good sides and bad sides. I think overall the good that Chick fil A does (awesome food, jobs etc) outweighs the bad (funding anti-gay groups). That is why I continue to eat at Chick Fil A.

I use the same logic in voting for Obama. I like education, health care and supporting gay rights. If I vote for him or donate money to his campaign, that means my money is also supporting things I don't agree with, like killing civilians with drones in Afghanistan and spying on Americans. Things are complex.

Other places can basically provide jobs and food just like Chick Fil A without the anti-gay funding. False dichotomy you've set up there.

I said earlier in this thread that I'd respect people who decided not to boycott Chick-Fil-A because they didn't find the issue of gay marriage of enough importance to warrant it, but I guess I'm going to be a hypocrite, because I really don't understand your viewpoint. You think that their food and employment is more important than gay rights, which you also support? I can't believe that you put low-paying, discriminatory jobs and fast-food chicken sandwiches on a higher pedestal than gay rights.

I used to eat frequently at my local place but I'm completely avoiding the fucking place now, especially after their disgusting lying and making fake FB accounts to argue (or, to quote them, to "derr").

It's one thing to have your little homophobia festering inside your brain. It's another to openly flaunt about it ("LOLZ GUILTY AS CHARG'D!"), and it's yet another thing to lie and pretend other companies affiliated with you aren't holding you accountable for your idiocy.

I love Moreno's statements and letter.

"Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values," the mayor said in a statement when asked about Moreno's decision. "They disrespect our fellow neighbors and residents. This would be a bad investment, since it would be empty."

"There is no place for discrimination on Boston's Freedom Trail and no place for your company alongside it."

Telling it like it is. I hope it keeps piling on. Cathy should probably realize he's not in whatever the fuck backwater hick town he came from anymore, he could use a reality check.
