Hehe, it's funny how anti-gun I am, but I'm interested in getting one to go squeeze off some rounds at the range. I guess playing paintball has got me re-interested in weapons again, so I'd like to get into it as a hobby, not necessarily for self-defense.
I'm sorry if I can't read the whole thread, I really tried to power through some of it. I've never fired a gun, but have held some (and foolishly dry-fired one). I have no permit or license, but want to make sure I do everything legally.
What's a good handgun to get for home defense (not my intention, but a nice secondary feature)? I'd like something easy and fun to shoot, but with ammo cheap enough I can go to the range regularly without breaking the bank. I don't intend to get a CCP, so I don't know if weight is a factor, but I'd like something that also looks cool. That Five Seven looks cool to me, if that's a good reference.
What are good places to buy a gun? Any websites, or should I check gun shows? Also, can I go to a gun range and try out different guns? I didn't know if they let you rent or test guns there before purchase. Lastly, should I do new or used? I read somewhere that recommended getting used. Thanks for any advice. PEACE.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I'm in Miami, so there are tons of gun ranges I can check out.
