Rumor: Apple to announce new iPhone and iPad mini on September 12th

Maybe you can, but 7 inches of screen is way too cramped for me to enjoy browsing the web. It works, but most webpages are simply not designed for a display that small, making you tap and zoom all over the place.
I guess it's fine for mobile webpages though, mobile GAF is great on anything.

To each his own. I just find the ability to hold with one hand and tap with the other to be extremely comfortable.

I was initially skeptical about the 7-inch form factor, but the Nexus 7 sold me on it.

My iPhone 4 is on its last leg. Late September feels like eons from now for me...
what is this I don't even

What do you guys put your phones through? I'm on my 3GS and it's still very much alive and kicking. Probably have jailbroken it over 20 times in that period too.

No, it's definitely different. You can't hold a 10-inch tablet comfortably in your palm like you can a 7-inch tablet. Unless you have massive Lana Kane hands.

I don't and I can hold it pretty well. I do think that an 8" tablet will be a lot lighter and easier to hold.

Meh, there's an iPad mini/larger iPhone rumor every year. I never put stock in it.

As for the dates, HYPE! I've had my 4 since release day, so I'm anxious for something new. But still so far away.

It's a lot different this time. WSJ/NYTimes are reporting on iPad mini, it isn't just internet talk. And we have actually seen pictures of the molds for it. It's 100% happening.

Its coming - no doubt about it. A new Apple TV is coming (probably next year though) - no doubt it. September is the window pending non sucking manufacturing - no doubt about it :)

Get your wallets ready.

Whats the purpose of the non uniform back, does it serve a functional purpose ?

They want it to be all chrome and shiny. However, all that metal means interference for the antennas. As such, they put black strips of plastics at the top and bottom, where the antennas are located. Same thing was done on the original iPhone (except only at the bottom).

From user abuse or did it just stop working? It's a semi-known issue and Apple will replace your phone because of it (assuming it hasn't been dropped in water, etc., etc.)

From use. Nah they won't. This phone is a refurb I got 9 month ago. My front screen has a small crack at the top. Even thought it's unrelated I assume

1) It's outside warranty anyways
2) They would say it broke due to abuse.

I'm honestly in no rush to upgrade to the iPhone 5 unless it's a significant update.

I'm still loving my iPhone 4.

At least I know what to buy the girlfriend for her birthday, she should be due for an upgrade fairly soon.

She's currently using a Droid Incredible - which has a battery life of around 25 mins.

You've never taken a device to a Apple store I take it. They are extremely good about replacing parts on Apple products, often times for free or if not very cheap, regardless if they are under warranty or if it was the users fault. They have damn good customer service.

My fiancee dropped her iPhone 4 that she never had apple care on over a year after owning it and it broke one of the volume buttons. She set up a apple store appointment and they right then and there gave her a new iPhone 4 for free.

My sister dropped her iphone 4 in a MUG OF BEER and they replaced it for free. I was in absolute shock.

I want a Apple Store in my country now. Here it's just official licensed retailers and they demand that you've bought stuff through them and they will overcharge for repairs.

I hope they offer an LTE option in the iPad mini too, 'cuz while I like the Nexus 7, its usefulness to me is limited because it's wifi-only. I have an LTE iPad 3, but, I really like the 7-8" form factor more (and hopefully this would be lightweight since I'm guessing it won't have a retina screen...).

That multi texture and matte black are absolute sex. Loving the small redesigns, wonder what internal have changed.

I'm still hoping this will signal a shift to 16:9 or 16:10 across their whole iphone/ipad line, and not just iphones as rumored. far better for video consumption versus 4:3, which is what I'm assuming is the bulk of ipad usage, and at a high enough resolution (1080p or 1280x800) is decent enough for everything else.
app devs will manage

mostly, though, a 7"/7.7" 4:3 would just be awkward as hell (and fuck going back to 1024x768)

lolll same here. When do you plan on putting it up for sale and for how much? I haven't even checked what they're going for on craigslist right now. I got a factory unlocked white 16GB 4S. Mint condition.

The weird thing about the "iPad Mini" is the total lack of leaked photos for it. Pretty much every Apple product in the last few years has been leaked with photos of parts etc, but there is nothing for the iPad Mini.

I am on a 2 yr old OG EVO 4g. I have refused to upgrade to anything else since this phone has everything I needed. It took Apple 2 years to catch up to what this phone has in it...but now that it has it may be time for me to own my first Apple product..

got it confused with an ipod touch and skipped over it for pictures.

I'm selling my 4s as well. $300 unlocked and jailbroken sounds reasonable????

Not sure how much I'll put it up for. Typically check prices around when I'm selling and shoot for something around that.

Have gone the eBay route thus far with good success so I'll probably keep going there until I get burned. Had a bad Craigslist experience that put me off the service, personally.

~$300 is typically normal, though.

9to5Mac had pictures of leaked plastic iPad mini moldings from China.

Apple products have amazing resale value. If your phone is still in perfect condition 300 is definitely way too low to sell your 4S. 400 MINIMUM, closer to 450-500. 450 would be an easy sell.
