How is that hyperbolic? Most posts in this thread are exactly that. That is, the argument that the rich don’t pay enough taxes, the middle-class / poor pay too much, and that is why everything is in the shitter.

If anything the article itself is hyperbolic, in that Romney’s tax plan makes no mention of any tax increases for the middle class at all; and the report makes the assumption that the middle class must end up paying more taxes to make up for lost revenues, even though Romney’s actual plan says nothing of the sort.

Romney's actual plan says NOTHING SPECIFIC, so the study makes the best assumptions for his case, and his plan still sucks. Have you considered reading the report?
 
Someone needs to make a Rage Against the Romney Campaign already I mean how is he going to win I've seen someone try so hard at being so despicable.

What's even more amazing about this is the Romney campagin is decrying the sources on this as biased when the campaign called the same people unbiased when they used their figures to say Rick Perry's plan raised taxes on millions of Americans back in the primary.

I thought that was the case. Regardless of the political implications I think the most interesting part of the report are the figures they calculate for what could be raised by eliminating certain tax exemptions. I am looking forward to reading what they came up with.

All taxes need to go up. I applaud him raising taxes on middle class, but the top 10% should go up as well.

He won't be elected, though, and Obama won't raise taxes on the middle class.


EDIT: I am a middle-class republican, but have nothing to do with today's current crop of retardation emanating from the word holes of mouth breathers like Reince Preibus and Grover Norquist.

In my country parties are forced to let their plans be calculated by an independent organisation, that way they can't sell bullshit.

He's not raising taxes on the middle class. This study is ASSUMING he will have to, to keep his plan revenue neutral.

We've got the Congressional Budget Office for that. Unfortunately, we also have policy think tanks like the Brookings and CATO Institute that are both highly influential and politically motivated. They put out a lot of great research, but they often muddle the waters when it comes to the public getting a clear picture about the benefits/consquences of proposed or enacted policies.

You aren't forced, you could just not submit your plans (which I believe the PVV did at least once, and I suspect they will do again). Other parties will just use it against you as political ammo, because it basically proves it's no good anyway, and that you are aware of it.
 
Rich people work really hard to make their money so they should keep a larger percentage of it than the middle class / the poor because they're just leeches on society.

whhhhaaaaa? How can you say such a thing when Romney hasn't said one concrete thing about his budget proposals? You are pulling things out of your ass. Romney has embarrassed himself continually throughout this election cycle by refusing to take any hardline positions outside of ones that cost him politically with independents. he is going to lose this election despite Obama's weaknesses on the economy because he is THAT inept.

If he came out and said, "Raising taxes across the board is fair and necessary to maintain the country and build it for the future" Then I would consider voting for him. As he is now, he is beholden to his bundlers and donors who are complete retards.
