3DS Streetpass Experiences

I should have brought my 3DS to Dark Knight Rises a few weeks ago, that might have been a missed opportunity for some tags. Anybody here get a decent amount of tags in movie theaters?
I was debating this too when going to see TDKR, but I didn't. Once I got there, the row infront of me had 2 different 3DSs.

Going to see it again today and I'm bringin my 3DS. Different theatre though, well see how it goes.

Our small theatre is always pretty good. 3-4 Streetpasses every time we go and it's tiny compared to a big ol' Cineplex / AMC.

What I figured, thanks. I can't believe I didn't think of it before, definitely will be bringing it with from now on.

As of today, My Mii Plaza's Overall Tag Count is at 5905, while my Plaza Population is at 2831. Going to Nintendo World later today for the weekly Kid Icarus Uprising event. Hopefully, I can reach 6000 tags by the end of the month (and hopefully 3000 Miis while I'm at it).

So the Mrs and I are going to NYC this weekend for a bit o' vacation. I definitely plan to carry my 3DS with me wherever I go. Hoping maybe I can get me some NY 3DS tags to fill out another state on the map. I'm also planning to visit the mother land aka the Nintendo World Store. I've never been to it before, so I'm pretty damn excited! :D

I did this about a month ago. Was a little surprised by how little street passes I ended up with. NintendoZone wasn't any better at Nintendo World Store either. I did grab an awesome mug!!

I got 4 or 5 at the Avengers midnight premier. I only got one at TDKR, but it wasn't opening day and it was the middle of the night. A lot of times I get zero hits at the movies, though. This is at a 20plex at a mall as well : /

Also, I've taken my 3DS to baseball games a few times now, walked passed thousands of people, and I've still only come away with 1 StreetPass ever from there. People, man. Carry them 3DS's!

I took mine to the Olympics today... of course I got 10 hits within 30 minutes of getting there... only I forgot to check my 3DS until I was on the train home. :(

I could have had tons. Fuck that 10 Mii limit.

^see i'd heard that too but when i was at the zelda concert, id get 10 and it'd tell me there were more at the gate, so i thought 20 might be the max? or is that only if you're actively in the mii screen?

Took my new 3DS XL to Castlefest (Dutch fantasy festival) yesterday and got 18 streetpasses. Was hoping for a bit more, but not bad I guess.
My daily commute hasn't been very fruitful so far, but that might pick up when the summer holidays are over.

The only time I have ever EVER gotten any 3DS passes was at the airport and sadly that was only once. I have taken that damn thing everywhere to no avail.

The queue starts filling up again as soon as you see the plaza gate, so those other 10 wandered in while you were greeting the first 10.

Apparently McDonald's is handing out pieces for a Big Mac puzzle now in Japan? I walk past one every day here in Kobe with my US 3DS and haven't seen anything... wonder if it's Japanese firmware only like the Fire Emblem puzzle.

So I spent my entire weekend in Manhattan carrying my 3DS around -- including a stop at the Nintendo World Store -- and I got more street passes in two days than I typically do in two months where I live (central New Hampshire). It didn't help me finish any puzzles or bulk up my Mii Plaza a bunch, but it was nice actually encountering other 3DS owners for once. I got a bunch of street passes for Mario Kart 7 and Mario Tennis Open, even a few for DOA Dimensions, RE Revelations, Tekken 3D, and much to my shock, Sonic Generations.

Oh, and I got to try the 3DS XL at the NWS. I didn't play it for very long -- had my wife trying to coax me out -- but it was good to at least get a feel for the bigger form factor.

Wat, is this for real or a shop?

It's real. McDonald's and Nintendo have their WiFi collaboration to explain it why they get a special puzzle.
Well then. I suppose there's really no chance for that here in the US.

Outdone in fast food menu items, outdone in burger music, and now outdone in 3D burger pictures.

Ha, I'd actually like to have a 3D burger puzzle. Make it happen McD, BK or whatever.

In other news I still haven't encountered anyone with a pink kirby piece :(.

The Olympic site, the nations of the world gathered in one place. Just four people passed and all of them from England.

At least I got the birthday achievement.

I got 10 in the Park (forgot to check it once I was actually there so didn't clear through any) -- 9 from England, 1 from Ireland.

I was so disappointed. :(

Oh yeah yesterday I spent all 10 playcoins on wandering heroes. As an experiment, I made the first one use pink magic.

The rest of my heroes missed every attack. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Fuck that, never using pink magic again.

Pink is only really useful if no one in your party is high enough level to deal damage to your current target. Hit rate drops like a rock but each hit is a guaranteed crit, which is triple the normal damage.

If you find yourself in need of getting rid of the pink field effect you can clear it with the orange one... or yellow, white, or black if you're really desperate.

pink magic is awesome if you've got high level heroes. since i pass my brother and his friend all the time i have 2 level 7 heroes, meaning hit chance dropping is worth it for the 21 damage critical

Yeah I pretty much forced to use it again because I had level 1s and had to attack an enemy that wayward unaffected by level 1s.

And I realized it didn't stack with my previous orange magic in the same attempt too -.-'

My Neighbor's son got a 3DS recently, so I've been streetpassing with him twice a day for about a week now. I have all the puzzles done, so that must be exciting for him.

Do I need more than one Mii to get past an enemy that spews cursed gas?

No. You can attack through the Cursed Gas (from my experience about 50% success rate), but it's better to bring along a Wandering Hero (or two, in case the Dispel potion fails) to get rid of the gas.

Nintendo stop adding puzzles please I haven't even finished one of the first new sets of puzzles you released.

I hate it when you are missing two pieces on one puzzle, get a new one, and everything you "buy" a puzzle piece for go towards pieces you already have in the old one. *shakes fist*

On the good side, if you ever catch up on the puzzles, it seems to take ~150-175 coins or so to get the 32 blue pieces on just one new puzzle. Been that way for the last two they sent out for me. Works well, since that's about how many coins I've been adding with just normal walking between puzzles. It's just getting to all the other puzzles being complete that can take a lot of coins, if you don't get many StreetPasses.

How surreal. During my travels round London today I apparently bumped into someone again. This isn't a case of going along my usual route, today I went to places I've never been before.

Finished my first run of the 2nd map in Streetpass Quest 2. Picked up another hit today and restarted the 2nd quest but somehow ended up back on the 1st map again. Think I may have missed the option to do the harder quest?

If I choose give up quest from the settings menu will I be able to start the 2nd quest again? Or does it wipe all of your SP quest data and put you back at the start of the 1st quest because that would be my worst nightmare !

Hopefully I start streetpassing frequently again once school starts. I just love completing puzzles! Sadly, I don't care much for Find Mii, but that's fine too. :)

NSMB2 puzzle makes me happy. Hope it looks different enough from the NSMBWii puzzle...

Managed to get 23 tags at Wizard World Chicago. However, I also managed to lose 10 chances at Puzzle Swap. During the intro to 10 tags, another person tagged me. Being stupid, I went to the plaza gate to get him, and when I went back I couldn't get the Puzzles Pieces of those 10 others. Aggggh. At least I managed to complete Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Pikmin, as well as get all the Pink Pieces to Star Fox 64 3D.

I also ran into a specific Mii for a third time. I think she works at my nearest GameStop, that's how I tagged her twice before.

lvl 7 neighbors are so important in find mii 2. ive gotta go visit local gaffer gunsmithX more often cause he's stuck at 4, haha...see? bringing people together~

What is the range of the streetpass signal? I woke up to see my 3DS have a green light today. I sleep at the top of a tall house and my charger isn't even near the window. I only got data for Mario Kart but I can't conclude that this was because I was on the edge so I only got a glance of data while someone drove past. This guy was 100% new to MK7 so there is a chance this was their first game and thus the only thing they've ever opened.

After being in a few big-ish cities, walking through multiple big malls, and taking my 3DS with me everywhere I went but to no avail, I finally got my first streetpass in about 2-3 months the other day on the highway in the middle of a 4 hour drive...

Finally got all of the hats! Damn, it sure took a while. Hopefully I can go to GamesCom this week, curious how many hits I'll get.
Has anyone visited E3 this year, and if so, how many hits did you guys get?

I also ran into 2 repeats. Must have been from C2E2. I got about 40. I was there for 2 hours on Saturday. I would have had more, but I had to keep checking the queue, then spend 5 minutes getting puzzle pieces. Didn't even bother with find me :(

I really wish Nintendo would raise the limit. It really sucks at these types of gatherings. Because as much as I love street passing, I didn't go there to have my face in the 3DS the whole time.

Does anyone know if there are any Streetpass groups in Houston, like Streetpass NYC and the sort?

Streetpassing isn't that common where I live. Maybe it'll go up once school starts...I hope
