Darksiders 2 new info! [one month away from release]

I won that little sweepstakes too and I'm getting the same error. I wish they just gave us the Steam key, I wanna try DS1 out on my PC. >_<

I meant on the GameStop end, actually. The app and the page are what's giving me the trouble.

Ohhh I see, the Gamestop website was really slow for me too now that I think about it. Might be getting hammered or something. Not sure how many keys they sent
 
I just got off the phone with a GS rep. Apparently it's some server-side issue that a ton of people are calling about; they had me fill out some form and I may be getting a new code tomorrow. Sheesh.

Ahh, guess I just lucked out and managed to grab mine before it went down. Hopefully they manage to get it fixed tommorow.
 
I have 2 questions. A friend of mine gave me a DS code from the Gameinformer contest.

1. Do you need to download that gamestop PC app to download and play it? Or can I just redeem it via the website.

2. I heard that you get some kind of Bonus in DS2 if you played DS1. However, if you do need that GS PC app, will I need to buy DS2 from GS as well, or will the bonus apply if I play it on steam?

1. You need the app to get the code that will activate on Steam. Yeah I know, dumb.

2. DS2 is Steamworks it doesn't matter where you buy it, you can only play it on Steam.
 
So ummm, after getting an email from ShopTHQ/Digital River about pre-release availability being bumped up to Aug. 2nd, and then getting a follow-up email from THQ apologizing for the confusion and assuring me that I'd get my games on or around Aug. 14th, I have now received shipping confirmation of my games, complete with tracking number and an estimated delivery date of Aug. 8 or Aug. 9

Same here. But over on the official forums I was told that the games would not be leaving the shipping facility until later and that we would get the game on launch day. Guess we shall see, lol.
 
So I downloaded the GS app and successfully redeemed my code, but there is no darksiders under my games tab.

Edit: Nevermind, I restarted the app and it's there.

I won a copy of Darksiders via that GameInformer giveaway. Got the email last night.
First I was like wtf is this GameStop PC download thing and redeeming the code was giving me errors. I also bought RAGE which was just 6,73 euro or something on that app to check if the error was just on Darksiders.
Anyways I went to bed, woke up this morning and Darksiders was on my games tab and it was redeemable on Steam. Now I need my copy of RAGE too, but I guess it takes some time to appear on my list.
Oh well off to work first and I'll check back later then.

Ah I should of done this LOL well at least with a seperate save after the intro that shit is dull xD

I died at tiamat though went to fight her with like 1/4th a bar left LOL

This scene shows fight against one mini-boss from sidequest in 1st world. It is a slight spoiler in regard of the boss look [ds1 reference], but its very actiony and awesome.

I don't understand any german at all, but that DS2 segment was really cool.

I love the big over the top fantasy theme the game has shown so far =)
 
Pretty amazing how I went from just slightly passing interest to super hyped for this game over the last couple weeks. Mostly because of the revamped combat system. I did have Dragon's Dogma lined up to play next but now all I want to play is Darksiders 2.

Unfortunately my finances are on lockdown at the moment. Unless I can get someone to do a trade with me I probably won't be playing this until later this year.

Yup. My only full price purchase since February has been Max Payne 3, and I probably won't be getting anything else until November at the earliest so why not? Two summer games in genres I love? Yes, please.

They say that x360 version looks great, and they described the game was clearly influenced by Soul Reaver, Shadow of the Colossus and Zelda. Full review will hit on the 14th, but preview states that:
"The balance between puzzle-solving/exploration and combat is pitch-perfect."
