Carmela Soprano was in a much much scarier situation but had infinitely more intelligence and balls.

What a tense, creepy, horrifyingly genuine moment of domestic abuse, with Walt essentially shadowing over her like a twisted demon screaming over and over about how trapped she is, reveling in it, and Skyler desperately waking to the fact that there is no way out of this nightmare. She's complicit. She must save what she can. The physicality of the scene too, with the way she was essentially shifting herself into corners as he lumbers after her, asserting a form of mental domination that is nothing short of terrifying.

Im pretty sure the watch gift scene was him realizing Jesse means more to him than Skysky does.

Interesting that there was specific focus on Walt's wedding ring several times. There were also at least two specific references to the number 5; once when the bacon was too small, and Walt's plate read "5." before Skylar changed the "point" to the 1. The other came at the end when the 51 mug Skylar was putting butts into was angled for the cam. No way those are accidents.

This ep just got better and better. That scene with Walt's cold logic against Sky, and the ticking at the end...just great.

Walt will always remain fixated to the idea that the family is normal, and his job is normal and everything is under control. The watch for him shows how long it's gonna take for Skyler to side with him like Jesse did. I think karma will show him otherwise, and cancer will strike once the time is out. That's when everything explodes.
