I imagine Jr. will get into a car accident somehow.
He loves his kids. He's questionable about his wife. He did all this for his pride and his family in the first place. He has never done anything bad to the kids other than endanger them with his business. Then again, we've seen how naive he's been with regards to that. PEACE.

Eh, I somehow disagree. He still likes using the excuse that it's all for his family, especially after all the times he "saved" them from danger. He likes the power but also wants to maintain his life as it always was, without him being a loser anymore. Walt was so pathetic, but now he wants to relive his life with his family along with all this newly acquired power.
I don't think he ever will but Walt literally has 0 empathy for anyone. Honestly I think he may love Jesse, but when the dirty laundry is aired, it will be too late. Jesse is Walt's family, for now.
They are his excuse for his misdoings and his reason. He wants to relive the life but he is very selfish. He lacks empathy. He is essentially a psychopath. He lacks the ability to love.

I don't know why but there was something hollow for me with her performance in that scene. Normally I think she's spot on and a great actress but her performance in that scene where he's tearing her down in the bedroom she seemed a little off.
New character on the next Jersey Shore.

Now that I think of it, Walt may have a breaking point with Skyler (symbolized by the clock,) but I'm trying to think of a way of how it may be initiated.
I don't understand this, is Breaking Bad separating the season into next year?

Walt definitely loves his kids.
I think Walt loves Jesse BECAUSE he is manipulative and loyal. But it's still love. Walt doesn't love his family. He loves the power and image.
With Jesse, his image is... Mr. White. It's him. He doesn't have to impress Jesse. There is no pressure. Jesse knows every secret, every tale of dirty laundry (other than those against Jesse). Jesse is his confidant. His best friend. His son. He is more loyal to Walt than his own family. Jesse is everything (other than being a Meth dealer) that he wishes Walter Jr. was. But no, Walt was given a crippled son who he has nothing in common with and no real desire to get to know. The most "real" conversation they've ever had was Walt fucked up in his underwear.
Walt loves Jesse, even if it is for all the wrong reasons.
Walt does NOT love his family ANYMORE. He has no desire or reason. They are an excuse to feed his ego.

There's still a lot of emphasis on Walt providing for his family though (even though I disagree, but that's what Walt personally believes.) The money tossed in front of Skyler, the whole pseudo-rape scene where he accentuates how important family is, and wanting the kids to stay home. He still wants a life with them. He's just too delusional to understand what he's done renders it impossible to maintain one with them.
Wasn't the German dude connected to the equipment purchased for the super lab?

What, of course Walt loves his family. He's just delusional. He's ignoring the fact that his new persona creates an underlying imbalance to his family. He doesn't care that it's bothering Skylar and he's a shit husband for that.
He's too delusional to understand what he is feeling isn't love. Everything he is doing with the family in mind is purely to satisfy his ego.
The only time we see Walt for who he is, is when he is with Jesse. As badly as he treats him, he has NOTHING to prove to Jesse. Jesse is his bitch. Walt can do naked handstands in front of him, and know that Jesse will love him. And because of that, Walt legitimately loves Jesse. Those are reasons to love someone.
Walt does not love Skylar, clearly. He hardly loves Walter Jr. He named his son after himself, and his son tried to change his name, ran off with his brother-in-law in the days of his impending death, etc. Walt is incredibly bitter towards Walter Jr.'s existence. He shares his name but he is crippled. He is a disgrace. But he is his son, so he MUST "love" him, and Walt will never admit otherwise. Holly is his newborn daughter, yet how often does Walt father her? Even in the opportunities he's given, Walt will never have an emotional connection to her. He treats her like a prop.
Walt is delusional. I think we can all agree on that. The question is does he legitimately love his children? I do not think he cares about their well-being if it did not reflect on him and his ego.

Id say he definitely was a caring father in the beggining, though. I mean he thought he was going to die. The money was to be responsible for his loved ones... At first.

I guess his whole plan to relive his life on his own terms, now that he has the power, is to feed his ego. I'm just saying that he does want his family around still. Walt's change of character when he finally gets caught will be very interesting.
He definitely started doing this for his family, but things changed. Money means nothing to Walt other than power now. He has seen so much fucking money that it means shit other than if he has enough he can buy out anyone who opens their mouth to him. When you've been given that power, no one will take it away from you, no matter how hard you fall. You feel rightfully owed to that power.
He wants his family around for egotistical delusional purposes. Walt can't face the reality of any situation. The old Walt would never put his family in jeopardy like he has. The old Walt would never stand up to Skyler like he has. The old Walt would never even be so vivid with Jr and Holly. He is living a life of total bullshit now. Every relationship he has, other than that with Jesse, is fake. Completely forced and faked to maintain what Walt sees as "ideal". You can love based on a lie.
Walt accepts Jesse for who he is and Jesse accepts Walt. They have a mutual respect and love for one another. They are an odd couple. Like I previously said, Jesse is Walt's bitch too. Which in turn makes Walt feel very comfortable with Jesse. Their relationship knows few boundaries because Walt doesn't give a fuck. That freedom is unlike any other relationship Walt has in his life. Walt has taught Jesse something dear to him. He's been through rough times with him. They've been through a lifetime together. He loves Jesse.
He does not love his family.
And I love that this show exists. The dynamics are amazing. The fact that the writing leaves this up to interpretation after seasons and seasons of character development is amazing.

Sounds about right.
For most of this series I thought Walt was perfectly justified in his actions, in terms of a dying man who needs to protect his family. But somewhere late last season it really changed to more of a Scarface-style power mad quest.

Especially how abrupt the rise occurred. From an average high school teacher, fast-forward a year, and now he's the meth kingpin.
I'm not sure the shift was all that recently. Walter White died in his crawl space. Now days he has no problem taking the larger picece of bacon from his own son. Why? Because he fucking deserves it. He's the man of the house and it was his birthday.
Maybe it's just bacon. Or maybe it and his nice cars paint a different picture.
