Do you think people would have made it into their adult lives if it was simply a matter of stupidity? The dude at the elevators actions could be related to a mental handicap or flat out anger and/or depression given people often treat wheelchair users like shit (especially when it come to disabled access on lifts) combined with having to cope with their disability on a daily basis. Though maybe I'm nuts for thinking just laughing at anybody dying is fucked up.
First off, it ain't just anybody dying. Second, the reason it's funny isn't because he died, but because he did something extremely stupid. Thirdly, you vastly overestimate the average intelligence if you think people can't survive for long periods of time all the way into adult life and not be stupid. It was completely a matter of stupidity.
Worry not though, I shall warn thee to avert thine eyes next time I post a gif of an idiot harming thyself.
Dude. He was an idiot who was angry, stupid and impatient; a dangerous combination.
I am pretty certain that he actually died after that.
Yes, he did. That's why he is a Darwin Award winner.
Did... did he just fell down an elevator shaft?
If you watch the full video, he barely misses the elevator doors closing and spends the next minute and a half ramming the doors for some reason with his motorized scooter. He eventually 'succeeds' in getting through, and falls to his death down the shaft.
Unfortunate? Perhaps. But also, in my opinion, very funny.
That's all there is to it. Check out the old thread for more info.
