For the record its pretty safe just to delete your gamertag (but don't delete the associated saves/content!) and then redownload your profile. After you delete your gamertag a shit ton of stuff on your Xbox (in Storage) will say its corrupted or something to that effect, but when you redownload your profile everything will work fine.
Interestingly enough my Xbox experienced this glitch again a few hours after, deleting my gamertag(profile only) and redownloading the gamertag also fixed the xbox freezing when connecting to live.
I really hope Microsoft sees my post in the beta group forum, I've been in the other dashboard betas and this sorta glitch has never occurred for the other betas. This glitch is also extremely annoying because being connected to a wireless network and having auto sign in on a profile means you have to disconnect your router/modem just to boot up the Xbox.

It amazes me that people still say this. Gamertags are free. XBLIGs are not region locked. Just set up a UK account and you can download to your heart's content. You can even use the point cards from your country on the UK account to upgrade them to full versions.

Thank you for getting it. (Or not be over-reaction GAF) I was implying that people probably shouldn't be messing around with beta if they are not savvy with tech or at least able to find help on the forum. I am actually agree with his statement about him being smart enough to troubleshoot stuff.
I have several family / friends that like to download crap they have no business messing around with then ask me to fix whatever mess they got themselves into.

May be it's your Xbox 360. I had the very first S model for awhile before my current R2D2 one and the last few months before I switch, it was freezing quite a bit and that was on the old dashboard. It crash (freeze) quite often when exiting the apps especially Hulu and Netflix.
The problem I have with the beta so far is when clicking on the "recommend" item, the Xbox just keep loading but never got anywhere. It doesn't freeze or crash since I an exit out of that using controller.

I was going to boot up RB3 last night, but then I found out that the wireless instruments don't work. How long have they known about it? I doubt it's high up on the list of bugs to fix.
EDIT: They have known about it for a while, but it can take up to a month before we're getting a new beta update according to this thread on the Rock Band forums.
there have been posts about it in the rock band forums, and the official xbox dashboard beta forums pretty much since the first day or two of the beta. someone from the xbox beta team has already posted in the thread on the xbox forums confirming they have fixed the problem. they just didn't give an exact time/date/day that anyone would actually get the update.
also, some instruments do work but not the ones i play/have. the wired mics, keyboard, fender mustang pro guitar along with a few others work while the rock band 2/3 drums, and most rock band guitars do not work.

Good to hear that it's already been fixed. Now we just have to wait for a dashboard update.
Someone in the beta group forum had the same issue as me and Microsoft told him that it's a issue with the S consoles and certain routers. Apparently booting in offline mode and setting the network settings to factory default fixed the issue as well.
I know it's possible, but I wanna keep all my purchased content on one account, not on two or three (I have a Japanese account too). It shouldn't be that hard to give other European countries the same content, right?
Different country, different copyright/licence/ownership laws. It's a total pain in the ass and for the most part explains why Europe gets screwed on services some times.

Where is it displaying your email?
Top right hand corner in rotation with gamertag, gamerscore etc. It just started today I believe. I don't know how to disallow it yet. Also it serves no real purpose, why would I want my email displayed when I already know it..

I don't know, but I wouldn't worry about it displaying your email too much unless you take screenshots of your dashboard often. It's a silly addition, but not really anything to worry about.
Huh, I just see a blank space in the rotation where you're seeing that. Glad it's not working for me, I'd hate that.
I record footage a decent amount, so yea it sucks lol.

Hmm. I noticed that the rotation(Gamertag then friends-messages-gamerscore and then a blank spot) in my upper right hand corner has a blank spot. I'm thinking it is possible. Maybe check your privacy settings?

Yeah the WLID on the dashboard is super dumb. Sometimes I have random people over (friends of friends, etc.) and they don't really need to see this info.

Are you talking about accessing Youtube through the IE app or the Youtube app? Streaming videos through IE is a pain in the ass. It seems like the amount of memory available for buffering is very limited, so I sometimes switch over to the youtube app if a video stops working through the IE app.
No, actually using the You Tube app. Prior the update it worked reasonably well, but last night I couldn't get a bunch of HD videos to play. It would open the video, show the title/rotating loading animation and just load for minutes. You Tube has been slow the last year or so, even on my desktop, but I couldn't get a thing to play.

I just checked and it only shows my GamerTag in the upper right corner. No email address which I wouldn't care as I made a new hotmail address just for the 360 so it's a dummy address anyway.
edit: I see it now rotated to that email. if it were my real email I might kind of care but since it is a dummy one... it doesn't affect me.

Well its not like I'm letting random people in. When you have parties sometimes your friends bring random people over and you take their word that they aren't there staking out your home. LOL I don't care that much but I can see WHY people could be paranoid about this. It can be another annoyance for people who post game videos online.
I still haven't seen anything posted as to what the purpose of this is. They could include something more useful like your MS pts or something.
I don't know why but (based on some of your posts) you seem to have an issue with people making suggestions and comments on things they think MS needs to change.

Meh. If you still want to post game videos and show the dashboard, join a party. You can make it invite only. Then it will only show your gamerpic in the top right corner.
or if someone records stuff on youtube. But then again they can blur it out or just not record the dashboard.
Just noticed it cycles from Gamertag to messages to LiVE ID email address. That looks new to me.
See it was posted above. I think it is a security weakness. My email address is only used for Xbox, and uber secret. Having it on the dashboard is potential for people to know what address to try and crack.

I hate to say it but security through obsfucation doesn't work. Keeping your email address "secret" isn't going to achieve much.

No, happened to my yesterday and also back in January too. Xbox support forum has lit up with the problem, they are aware of it.
I personally fixed it by recovering my gamer profile ON TOP of my original, so do not delete your profile and recover it.
When I recovered it said 1 instead of 7 BUT bout an hour later it was back to normal.

Personally I don't have many guests over. I am talking more about people that stream or many college students? I know there are other ways to find the WLID, but having it right there is kind of weak.
