I REALLY want to ask you guys what you think of this OKC profile, I won't post pics of him because I think that's just not right but he is a female to male transgender.

Would you date him? the main pic draw me to click on it, I think he is very handsome :D

He looks good, I tried putting long hair on him and as sad/bitchy as it sounds I think he looks better as a male than he would as his biological female counter-part would.

As for your question: I dunno. I'd kneejerk and probably say "no," but I've never been in that situation and probably am biased due to stuff to where I'm not "seeing"/thinking clearly about it.

One time when I was little, I was playing on the back of my dad's truck and the neighbor kids came over to play too. They were younger than me and really annoying. They were trying to get on the back of the truck pretending it was a boat. I reached down pretending like I was going to help them get up. Instead I put my hand on the latch and pulled. Down they went as the door kinda fell on them and knocked them to the ground. They were crying and wailing about it. It was a real Mufasa/Scar "Long live the king" sort of moment. I'm not sure if I feel guilty about it.

I always knew there was something dark about you D:

Nah, it's not me. RPJ ended so I switched to my previous avatar ;)
The picture comes from this Flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/moogy/
(there're more pics of this guy, and few others as well ;)).

I have always thought the guy in your avatar was Peter Sarsgaard

This is the actual photographer. I guess the rest of the models are friends he has/actual models. Gingers with beards are like cake to a fat lady for me, I just can't resist it.

I finally have something relevant to this thread!

I'm meeting up with someone on Monday. Anyone have any good pointers?

Too old... but my god does he look good. So... maybe?

I'm in the United States. And it looks like those three volumes are labeled Disc 1: Trust, Disc 2, Betrayal, Disc 3: Reflection, with the first two discs each containing two episodes each, which makes it sound like the OVA, although I'm not sure why it's split across three discs. I'll put it on request and watch it then.

You've hyped this up for me to an insane degree, so it better be good. 8)

Ah, yes.

Trust & Betrayal are the first OVA, split into 2 episodes each. Reflection is completely separate isn't worth bothering with unless you like reading a fan fiction ending of a series you have no familiarity with.

Oh, and I don't know if you are a subs or dubs person, but the subtitles are a must with this particular show. The dub is inexecrably bad as it is, and more importantly it mistranslates some rather important lines that completely change character motivations and make things seem inconsistent.

I love depressing stories, so I'm not the best person to respond, but I don't think Monster is particularly depressing. It's certainly dramatic, but outside of the first volume (which should translate into the first four episodes or so), the plot becomes more of a mystery and character study, rather than a tale of the protagonist's guilt, which is what the setup first appears to be.

Monster is not particularly depressing. It's definitely more what you described than super depressing. There are some depressing elements, but it definitely isn't maudlin and doesn't try to pull on your heartstrings overmuch about things.

Thus far the only one I haven't watched yet. Did I tell you I finally watched Mushishi and Eden of the East? Both were really good. I'm trying to get my buddy Sean into FLCL, but I don't want to use the English translation.

Mumei, what's your favorite episode from Mushishi?

Perhaps you should purchase the DVDs for FLCL and loan them to him.

And my favorite Mushishi episode overall is A Sea of Writing, though it is hard to pick a definitive favorite. I can think of several other episodes that I might prefer if I were in the mood for them.

Time to start a campaign to get you to watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes

Random question...

I always thought twink was a disparaging term, but it's in the title. Is it used within the LGBT community?

It can have some disparaging connotations (e.g. airheaded and shallow being the two big ones, I think) but it is used within the community itself. I think whether it is disparaging or not depends on the speaker.

Twink can be a derogatory word that means weak or effeminate, a step down in weight from the word faggot. But that's a younger definition.

The way the gay community uses "twink" (slim, young-looking, attractive) is derived from a usage of "twinkie" (a person, model or actress probably, that's only good for their looks), and has been used like that since gay porn became mainstream. If Tumblr and Oh No They Didn't are anything to go by, young people don't use the derogatory definition.

Well, I know it has those connotations; I just had never heard it used outside of the community except in like... twinking in an MMORPG, which isn't the same even if some people think the usages might have some connection (and no comment on that).

Everytime I try to leave mine it scratches like hell, and is not a exactly a closed beard, so I just shave it off on a weekly basis. I'm ok with it, is not one of those beards that are really good looking but are a pain to mantain, or those patched beards that are just horrible.

And damn, my crush accepted my facebook request >_<, he's so freaking handsome, and outgoing and social, I have zero chance with him ;_; yet I'm there, stalking his photos... urgh...

And yeah he usually has a beard, damn beards, they are so nice looking :(

I can't see it even as a okc user :(

I sure can appreciate nice beards but those legs are awful. As someone for whom strong, meaty legs are a must, I have to say I'd pass on this guy.

I trim my usually once a week. Here's its current condition:

you don't look at all like in a pic you posted several pages back (or was it someone else?? not sure anymore). Nice beard!

Yall beards are lame. Sorry if I look like a fatass.

I've seen you across several social threads and you seem to have a bit of a low selfesteem, regarding your looks but you really look great, with and without beard and you have great hair too. Whenever you post a sad line, I always think " woah, why so insecure? he's damn good looking"

anyway, my current look.....

Me, yesterday...

I just shave my beard about once every month, when it gets uncomfortable and too "bushy" (other tests include getting milk/beer foam stuck into my mustache). Every time I shave it's like I'm back to being 15 years old, I kinda hate it, but I don't have the patience to trim it. It grows back to a decent length in about a week anyway.

If you have the patience to shave a beard like that, it mustn't be hard tohave the patience to trim it, right? :)

Well I don't know why I always thought trimming would be more of a hassle than plain shaving, I never really bothered to try though, since it grows back so fast^^ (also I don't have a trimmer right now, I'll buy one when I have some money to spare I guess)

I'm a bit with you on this. I, however, lie within said twink realm in terms of body type. I couldn't grow a mustache to save my life, let alone a beard. However, there are plenty of otter-y/muscle bears that like my body type, so I'm happy.

Also, apparently, my boyfriend has a doppleganger from the NASA space program:

It's a bit more obvious now that Chicagoboy has a beard, but yeah, it's uncanny.

Kind of hard to overcome years of putdowns, insults, and general shit like that that conditions you to feel bad about yourself.

I am in a much better place lately and I feel better about myself (read: don't like me? Don't give a shit about your stupid opinions) but it's hard to change a thing like that.

Nice beard. :)
Currently I have something like this: http://i.imgur.com/d7YhF.jpg (and you can even see a bald spot on my cheek - a place where no hair wants to grow >_<).
I wanted to grow something bushier (haven't shaved for whole month), but it seems my genes hate my preferences :(

Yall beards are lame. Sorry if I look like a fatass.

Now I'm really jealous.
And you definitely don't look like a fatass.

I didn't shave for about 3 weeks, it looked ok-ish.
Then I went back to work and I had to trim it really short, this being the result: http://www.abload.de/img/986776pxecw.png
The stache will be gone soon, probably.

I was curious how you looked after your holiday, but forgot to ask. It suits you. Shame you will have to shave it :/

I saw a news article about him making Twitter girls all pants flooding. One of the older co-workers of mine suggested I'd get a Mohawk (but no stars) like his. I was all "Well the last time I shaved my head (Skinhead/0 Gauge) no one liked it and I dunno if a Mohawk would look good on me..."

sphinx, are you losing weight? Stop!

I weight exactly 63 kilograms, just like 3 months ago when I started jogging/working out.

so the answer would be "No".. BUT there have been very noticeable changes in my body since then, less fat, (a bit) more muscle....

you can compare this 2 months old pic with the one I posted today here:

Before pic

exactly 63 kilograms... so I don't know, I guess is a matter of taste... I like myself a lot more now if you ask me. Not to mention I feel thousand times better.

EDIT: goatee doesn't help :P I think I'll shave when I am back in Germany and will have longer hair and will wear some fall/winter stuff, time to change ;)
