I believe Yukiko's instant kill, while having a long warmup time, makes her invulnerable. Your only choice is to see it coming and block it.
Training mode is useful if you know where to improve, but if you haven't played anyone, it's hard to know where you stand.
Here's the vid I used to learn the reset with 5D. Just takes practice really. GGs man.
Instant kills have a ton of invincibility.
Yeah. I really need to work on hit confirms because I keep fucking up my BnB and sending out Izangi to die or getting a blocked lightning car.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned but Zen united/Pqube are going to be having an event at gamerbase London on the 22nd of August with playable builds of P4A, still no release date. Good to know that they can show off the game multiple times within the last 2 months yet not actually release it. it's releasing to a retail death in Europe.
I'm still trying to get my legs (and figure out what character I'm preferring). So far thinking Liz and either Akahiko or Chie, but will need to get some practice in all of them.
I also plunged strait into (the text heavy) Story mode (really like it so far). Maybe that'll give me more of a clue once I finish thru all the characters.

Again. Yukiko's IK has a huge warmup. You just gotta watch out for it.
Why does nobody show any love for Maki? Her P2 design is one of the best character designs that Kaneko has done.
Because she's kinda flat in P1. In P2 she gets some depth but Yukino stomps all over her.

Playing Aigis' story mode... When you guys said "visual novel" you really meant visual novel. It was like 30 minutes of text before the first fight.
I'm really digging Aigis as a fighter, except I still can't do her final move. I really love Megido Fire EX. Pretty easy and has a good range.

Aigis's instant kill is total garbage. I got desperate and used it in online just a second ago, and even I realized how much a waste of time it was. It's on par with Akihiko's for terribleness.
Aigis's counters are pretty hard to get used to as well. I can never tell when they've gone off because they're so awkward.

Hey now, Akihiko's can maybe hit. Aigis' is a staight up \ and can be dashed under since it can only activate in mid-air.
