has to be a string ya...but the cards movements are so extremely fluid dunno if you can do that with just a string.

My cousin bought a similar trick (featuring an UFO) from some museum in the UK while she was on vacation there two months ago. That trick involved a really thin piece of string, the connection to the science museum being that it was supposedly constructed out of a single molecule of carbon (?). By moving the string around skillfully, you can probably get the effect in this trick. That said, his card spins probably do take some skill.

i was going to suggest that this might be some kind of cg...seems like the graininess of the video would make it easier to hide the cg. the thin string explanation seems possible, although very difficult to pull off like this.

I've seen the trick pulled off in person, although not as impressively or for as long as the guy in the video is doing.

The question mark was more about whether it was carbon or silicone or any other middle-of-the-periodic-table super material but maybe carbon is the most likely. It was a pretty cool trick for about three minutes.
