Devolution is pretty (in)famous on the OT side. I haven't been in a lot of threads where she's posted but the general idea is that she's a feminist and she sometimes takes it too far.

There have been a couple of posts directed at her. A particularly funny one was when devo was using her real pic as an avatar and a user thought that she had put up a picture of a man in a bikini.

Also timedog and devo are a couple. Anyway, lets not make this about her.

Gb was quoting a post that linked to a forum of men who hate women. What GB said implies that she hates men or something along those lines. Calling another poster a feminazi or similar is grounds for a ban AFAIK

Thanks now it makes sense. Didn't know about the history of the user, didn't know Devolution was a woman and I interpreted GBs comment as referring to a male.

I remember when it got ban worthy to say stuff like a particular sex is bad at driving.

And threads about religion almost always end bad.

Because it sounds good. You hear what the other player has chosen for their voice tracks. That's how BB worked as well. If I could I would never have to hear JPN Noel or Makoto. To my own dismay I had to, made me want to end the matches faster than normal.

Eh depends where you post. There are plenty of threads where if you say the wrong thing (like Beardo) you get banned. But I look for the threads where posting dumb stuff is the norm.

This pretty much. Anything about religion, politics, or any of the threads that you know are personally favored by members of staff is hands off for me. A lot of those types of threads though have since wound up in the Community subsection (and that's part of the reason why that was implemented, or so I'm told) so it's not too bad now for the most part in OT or Gaming.
 
It's so weird that we're talking about the OT here. The last time I was really active over there was pre-OT Community threads. Everything that kept me going there regularly pretty much got moved to the Community section there and I haven't kept tabs on the normal OT since.

Sucks too since the OT gets damn hilarious pretty often. That all being said, come back soon GB.

Yep.

Also OT is home to GAF-Hop, the greatest part of GAF that isn't FGC-GAF. Also the only place you can get away with muchos disrespect and saying some harsh stuff to another GAFer. Well, at least a bit further than usual, limits exist (racism, sexism, etc. still not tolerated).

I don't post in POP/K-POP/GAF but I find the gif hilarious. And I don't understand why NBA-GAF keeps getting lock every few weeks or so either so I try not to post there too much.

I wonder how NFL-GAF will be once the season starts.
 
There was that one time this year when someone from bestgaf got banned cause he was creepin a little too hard on another gaffer at an LA meet-up (allegedly) and there was ensuing drama that happened afterward. I forget if that was a reason why it got locked down once though.

Also the penchant for mad trolling

I hear NBA-GAF is pretty lenient too, yeah, but people get banned there too. Mass hysteria causing the locks.

Pretty much any controversial thread (transsexual, politics, religious debates, abortion, etc.) I avoid. Someone will go off the deep end and take others with 'em. Not worth my time anyways, luckily I don't have strong views on these kinds of things either that I feel like I need to argue about on a forum.

It can vary but some of the things people say would never fly outside of it. Some of the more ruthless/confrontational ones are currently serving ban time though so it's been pretty tame.
 
Any "mini"gaf will always be more lenient and fly under the radar than any general threads in gaming and ot.

Still remember how the old Rockband OT became a gaf in of itself before the mods locked it at ~100k post mark.

Better advice would be "don't openly insult people"

Yes for some reason there are exceptions where members seem to have a pass to insult whoever they want with no repercussions but that is another discussion for another thread.
 
Hey in the finals for the Persona GAF tourney, what was the giant crazy monster thing? Is that an assist or something for the girl with the axe? It looked awesome!
