A lot of people like that just don't think about it. Like how you wouldn't think much about finding drinkable water. Just a different level. Money is nothing. You can gloat if you want but the REALLY rich don't even...it doesn't even register. It's not something.

I'm not actually jealous. Slight jealousy is something I feel when one of my friends starts earning 50k a year. These people are so far removed from me that actual jealousy is impossible.
I am angry and saddened that wealth disparity has gotten this hand. The people complaining about class warfare or boasting about how comfortable they are with this are, frankly, idiots with no internal moral compass or ability to put things in a historical context.

I've always been intrigued by black cards. I'm gonna go ahead and guess that 100,000 reciept was paid with one. I guess they get you benefits way beyond what's humanly necessary, right?
I remember being awed by the completely black metal card AMEX card that a basketball player used to pay for his purchases when I checked him out back when I worked retail.
Had a nice weight to it, all the letters and logos were black, cold steel.
They're kind of overrated. The annual fee is huge and the benefits aren't that much better than a traditional Amex platinum.
Regarding the Instagram thing, it's also mentioning that at least some of those are probably bullshit. People front about how much money they have all the time, especially kids.

I worked for a Hedge Fund right out of college. The guy that ran the trading floor I was on had a black card but I never saw him use it. I've only seen one once, and it was when a drunk guy was trying to get into a strip club. They wouldn't let him in, so he flashed his black card - they still didn't let him in. LOL. I was like yeah, VISA bitch.
I didn't say anything to him. He prob. spent more than my salary on booze that night....

Many of those places do crazy markups because they damn well know those people will pay.
Especially when it comes to food. May of them aren't that much different from what you expect from a decent hotel/resort but they jack up the price.
The markup at these exclusive clubs is ridiculous. I've been to places where a small 250ml water bottle costed $8 dollars.
Exclusivity and high price will increase the sense of self-gratification.

I could have all the money in the entire world, infinite wealth, and still not spend that much on such stupid things as these fools.
