Were we this obnoxious as kids??

Yeah, we were.

Every generation has their cancerous brain rot; for my generation it was Charlie the Unicorn, Beached Whale, Youtube Poops, 69, etc.

Kids have always been this way.

I was watching my cousins play Roblox the other day and I am still genuinely shocked, I have been playing games since the 80s and I have pretty much played every genre and I still can't figure out what the hell was that game, idk if it is all like that but I shit you not they were lining up to a dummy and when they got to it they would attack the dummy then go back to the end of the line, for hours!!!!!
It's basically a build your own game, game. I played what was a pretty decent Theme Park type game with my kids once, they only had a brief interest on the game though.

I think we were far worse, we just weren't under video surveillance at all times with it uploaded worldwide in seconds. The closest we got to a mirror was America's Funniest Home Videos.

I remember "swag" was our weird slang that we constantly used. Then the people annoyed with the kids say "swag" spread information saying that "swag" actually means "secretly we are gay" (that you are gay if you keep saying it) to get kids to shut up.

I know I am old, I was born in 1986 so excuse me for not relating to this 6-7 joke, but it just seems like something obnoxious that older people don't understand (obviously me being one of those), my question is did we do things like that at that age?? What was the cringiest 2001-2005 trend?

Every generation had its 'brain rot' trend that the older people sneered at. I can't speak to 2001-2005 because I'm 9 years older than you but for me in the early 1990s we were all walking around quoting shit like Beavis & Butthead, Bill and Ted, and Wayne's World.

I'm pretty sure my parents and grandparents thought something was seriously wrong with all my peers as we ran around saying shit like "I am the great cornholio, I need TP for my bunghole!" or "Diarrhea cha cha cha!" or "sixty-nine dude!!" or "schwing!".

That's why I'll never complain about whatever brain rot lingo modern kids have today. We all had our own versions of it.

No. Nowadays lack definitely lack discipline and social skills/awareness, likely due to millennial's parenting (the kind that 'negotiates' with their young children throwing a tantrum), which allows them to push boundaries and do straight up dumb shit way more than my generation did when we were young.
Not only that, I've been seeing an increase in kids taking insanely dangerous risks in traffic, usually on their (fat-)bike, and it's like they're either totally unaware or just don't give a shit and expect everyone (motorists) else to adapt and stop for them.

obnoxious? maybe. as stupid? no. kids today are braindead having everything presented to them in AI form and youtube educatd and covid years where they were pushed thru the grades even though they didn't quality at all to be passed but they couldn't hold them all back.

The only things I can really remember from when I was at secondary school in the late 80s/early 90s was that a dude was a camels foreskin and everyone quoting Red Dwarf.

6-7 is a demonic mind virus.

I hung out with my niece and nephew for one day when 6-7 was still popular, and now I have it. There's a Pavlovian response anytime 6-7 appears in the wild.
