Yep, totally. You could tell the 2 "official" pieces were peeled off then put back on. Then there is a huge piece of clear packing tape in the middle. When I dumped out the contents, about 4-5 1x4 grey bricks came tumbling out with the bags.

I will try to take inventory soon, just to make sure.

EDIT: all 28 bags are accounted for!
 
Yesterday was my birthday so I finally got my Lego 10221 Star Wars Super Star Destroyer. Been fun so far.

@Calm Killer - Love the pics! I must say, I really like all the wood in your home, too! Haha - I know I should be focusing on the LEGO, but that also caught my eye! Excited to see the rest as it comes together (of the LEGO!).
 
Getting the itch to build. Might be time to break out the Sonic Boom from my closet.

And I still have the Fire Brigade sealed away as well. I want to collect all of the modular buildings, but don't want to build them right away. I may end up saving them for several years down the road when my daughter is old enough to help me. She's only 5 months old right now.

Sonic Boom is great, but why deprive yourself of modulars now? You can always disassemble them later to build with your daughter.
 
I'm getting the itch to buy another modular. I only have the Fire Brigade right now. I'm hoping they do double points in October like they have in the past. If so I will probably get Grand Emporium as it seems the likely candidate for retirement.

No real room to display it right now. I need to go through my Alien Conquest sets and disassemble them so I have room for the Old Republic sets and the coming Bag End set. Also, the modulars remind me of the standard LEGO sets from when I was a kid. I like her to experience that as well and be able to share the joy of a brand new build with her.

Still debating on what sets to buy in September and use my free shipping offer with and get the Monster Hunter promo set. Mini Modulars #10230, Weathertop #9472, or Republic Starfighter #9497. Argh, too many awesome sets that I want. Hopefully LEGO.com will have the Series 8 minifigs for sale next month as well.
 
What is the average backlog like around here, anyway? Parrot's post made me curious.

I'm sitting on four sets...well, five, depending on how you count the joust.
Kingdoms Joust (Two copies)
Hogwarts Castle (turned into a family project though and my section is finished)
Hogwarts (starting tonight)
Diagon Alley (starting this weekend)

I'd really like to clear it before the Haunted House arrives. No backlog for me dammit, not this time!

Nice. Continue to keep us updated as you make progress if you can, as it'd be awesome to see the thing build up over time.

That and I have no intentions whatsoever of purchasing one.
 
I plan to do the Falcon this weekend. Helms Deep might be a project that I save, since I want to make some massive thing. Might just keep adding to that backlog, haven't decided.
 
Backlog? Are you kidding?

The joys of having a wife who thinks it's a waste of money...

We've got an unopened Vampyre Castle we got my eldest daughter last month, but we've been building a lot lately. She gets totally disinterested if we do too much so I'm pacing her.
 
I only got back into LEGO, big time, this year. And this thread is the direct cause. Before I would get maybe one set a year. But I've spent like $400 on LEGO this year alone. That's the most I've spent since the Star Wars sets were first released in 1999.

And my backlog is mainly due to arrival of my daughter back in March. I built a lot during my six week paternity leave. But ever since I just haven't had time to build or play games.

According to brickset I'm at around $1,120 retail value for what I've bought this year, but the larger sets were bought on sale. The only time I've paid MRSP or more is for small $15-20 sets.

Oh, god. I have bought the equivalent of $2985 worth of sets this year. The amount spent is less because of deals and coupons, etc. But it frightens me to actually add that up. I could have paid off a large chunk of my credit card debt with that money and be that much closer to financial freedom.

But it would not have been anywhere near as fun. :)

Plus a couple of sets for my sons birthday next week (technic quad bike, hillside house), plus some Dino sets for my daughters christmas presents (were on sale so grabbed them)

Nearly built tower bridge for the Olympics but I didn't have any space to display without breaking down my imperial shuttle. Soon, but not yet.
 
Only set on my backlog us the mines of moria, mainly because I'm waiting for the weekend to do it with my daughter. She's asleep or on her way to bed by the time I get home from work.

Been playing the crap out of Lego Batman 2 though. I'm a whore for those games though and collect everything to 100%.

My backlog only lasts as long as it takes for me to open the box!

Before the start of this year I owned about 10 sets.

Not sure what sets Brickset has no retail price for but I have 2 sets from before 1999, about 8 form 1999 to 2001 and the rest are from Jan this year.

Ouch!

Also, from ReBrickable: You have 4091 parts.

All of those are from Bricklink so no idea how much they cost and I'm not about to check but my biggest spend month was Jan this year, £945 in 30 days.
 
I have spent $2,650 (MSRP) on 2012 sets so far. This number does not include sets released in 2011 and earlier, which I have also purchased in 2012.

Also, I often pay far less than retail.
 
Found TWO packs of series 8 at TRU today... yeah... only 2 :|

got the bat and the man in the top hat with paper... sigh :P

I did walk out with a lot of World of Warcraft Mega Bloks though.

I have to stay out of toy stores.

My total is everything bought in 2012, which includes lots of older sets like modulars and the Death Star.
 
Brickset says my retail value of set is $1711. I'm in the same boat as you guys though and know I haven't paid that much for everything as I typically buy things at a discount. My backlog is getting rather large though and that's only due to living in a small apartment and not having much extra space right now. I've maxed out the capacity on my desk at work too so unfortunately I can't really bring more in. Let me see if I can list my backlog.

Wow, I didn't realize how bad my backlog was until I listed it all out... The winter sets I was saving for Christmas but I really need to get to building. I guess I can tear some other sets down and put some of these in their place. I really want to build the Imperial Shuttle.
 
My TRU had one box of the series 8 minifigures. I got all of the ones that I wanted which are the following:

- DJ
- Lederhosen Guy
- Santa
- Football Player
- Diver
- Conquistador (Best fig in this series IMO)
- Pirate Captain
- Actor

Didn't go through the whole box, but felt every figure except for the cheerleader.
