Counter-Strike: Global Offensive official site is live (kinda), beta starting today

Apparently they fixed the Hud scaling bug now. I really love this game in the state it is right now.

So great to jump in after a day and enjoy some quick matches. And best of all, so far there aren't 1000s of servers with custom maps amd mods. In the end, I enjoy the classic 5vs5 CS experience the most.

Nothing, well a MacBook air but that doesn't really count. With steam games, are the keys locked to the operating system when you buy them or can you change to Mac/pc on a whim?

The keys are bound to your account so aslong as you log into your account you can install any game on any computer in the world :) (that excludes Windows-only games on MacOS of course)
 
Okay, so I haven't been keeping up with this game too much, aside from being part of the beta. I was about to purchase this, but it says I already own it (being in the beta and all)

Just so I don't make any silly mistakes: I don't actually own it, right? I still need to fork over the bucks?

Wow! k/m on PS3? So why did they remove the PC-PS3 crossplay? That would have given the console community more people to play with.
Also, asking for the 3rd time now, will this game have dedicated servers on consoles? Or just COD-cheap-ass P2P?

I had the same issue but I went ahead and bought it anyway. Now I have a CSGO pre-order entry in my Steam list as well as the CSGO beta that I've had for a while. I reckon the warning was for the beta... as in, you won't get an extra copy of the beta which you already have. Either way, Valve are not likely to just take your money and screw you out of the game so it shouldn't be an issue.

Also, pre-ordered for the TF2 item. This is so sad :P

Something about PC being bottle necked by the rate they could release PS3 updates versus updating whenever they want on Steam. Take out crossplay and they don't have to care about maintaining that sync.

Sounds like someone else is just making a server mod, i dont think vanilla CSGo is affected in any way

I don't think so, this blog seems to imply it's just a server plugin... I hope it's not, because plugin interfaces suck.
 
Hope console doesn't get the shaft on this mode.. but most likely will. Maybe they will talk about it more on Gametrailers tonight.

Others have mentioned the store page saying this but apparently the game can still be added to your cart and bought. If you don't see Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in your Library, you don't own the game proper.

I'm certain that I didn't see the "You already own ..." message when I bought the game the other day, and I joined the beta months ago. I'd say the bug started when the beta went live for pre-purchasers a few days ago, on the 14th -- since pre-purchasing gets you in the beta, but the beta is already in your Library, Steam assumes you've bought the game.

Shame the open beta is only for pre purchases. Really wanted to see if I would enjoy this game after having an iffy experience with Source.
 
Had my first run as the bomb-carrier last night, and planted successfully. Felt good. I of course then followed up by getting killed about 20 seconds into the next round :)
 
I just went to pre-purchase on Steam. It says on the page that I already own the game. I figured that was because I've had access to the beta. (I think I've had access to the beta for a long time. I've just never gotten around to it.)

So I tried to go through with the purchase. But, now, on the purchase page, it tells me -- again -- that I already own the game and that I will not receive an additional copy.

Any idea what is going on? I did not buy the game.

Same thing happened to me, I even got a "Thanks for your pre-purchase!" message after I closed Dota2 last night. I want to buy the game so I don't miss out on the AWPer Hand, so hopefully they fix this shit soon.
