Republican Senate Nominee: Victims Of ‘Legitimate Rape’ Don’t Get Pregnant

So, any biology majors able to confirm if there's any kind of truth in this whatsoever? Like in the event of rape the female can release some sort of pheromone that goes and annihilates all of the raper's sperm?

Or if in the event of rape the female's Vagina can turn into even more of an acidic deathtrap?

I'm actually just curious if this is possible in any way whatsoever.

Edit: I lied.

It's more like, if the rapist also beats up the victim then maybe she might end up miscarrying the fetus.

So I guess he was saying that legit rape is when you're being beaten to near-death.

Not a biology major, but I seriously doubt the body has enough self-awareness to realize when it's being raped and when it isn't.

Well traumatic stress can negatively affect all sorts of things, so I imagine the chances of a miscarriage would be higher.

But that's only for you know, legitimate rape. Not like, haha j/k rape.

This is not a case of misspeaking. You didn't mistakenly use an imprecise word or flub a line. You put sentences together based on completely wrong and offensive claims. You believe this bullshit.

I weep for this country.

Victims of sexual assault are:

3 times more likely to suffer from depression.

6 times more likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.

13 times more likely to abuse alcohol.

26 times more likely to abuse drugs.

4 times more likely to contemplate suicide.

Let's add pregnancy to the mix. Good idea.

Can these women still have access to pregnancy prevention/morning after pill? I feel it's a better alternative to abortion any day of the week especially in these conservative states.

I am not a woman so I need to understand why would a woman prolong her suffering and get pregnant with rapist's child if it can be avoided altogether? Note that this question is purely academic and I am pro-choice individual (who is conflicted on abortion after a certain period of time where giving birth is as much of an absurd choice as abortion).

Also, morning after pills are not the hot topic debate right now but after closing down abortion clinics and demonizing Planned Parenthood, I wonder if and when they may become issues of morality in the minds of republicans...

Random NeoGAF Poster: Victims of 'Foot-in-Mouth Disorder' Don't Get Re-elected.

Natural defenses against rape, that's original. I wonder if his sexual education involved warnings against the troll that hides inside your girlfriend and bites your pecker off. Or he may just be old enough that pornography he found made it look scary. I know there's some pretty angry-looking bush out there before the 80s.

Not if that's banned too, or the places where such options can be accessed are de-funded, or the pharmacist has moral scruples and denies it to a customer.

I don't know though, so that's why I asked. I find it hard to completely rule out anything, despite how ridiculous it may sound, considering the body already does pretty amazing stuff.

What about the act of becoming pregnant itself? Is that at all affected by the process/emotional state of said participants?

What if you don't have the money to buy the pill?

What if you don't have the money to buy the pill?

Ah, forgot that one too.

Also, from what I have read in the past, women often feel an immense sense of shame after a rape and aren't likely to go around asking for these kind of things when most rapes aren't even reported.

This is what I am afraid of. I listed the link to the story where a doctor denied a 24 year old rape victim morning after pill back in may stating that it was against her religious obligation.

What if you don't have the money to buy the pill?

A definite possibility. However, what about the ones that can afford to pay for it? I can't imagine the only victims are homeless and penniless women.

Ah, forgot that one too.

Is there a reason one to needs to present at the counter for buying morning after pills? I thought they were over the counter medication that don't require prescription.

It's so sad. All this time I thought it was their obligation to be doctors first.

You know, as the days go by, the more Republican stances are looking like they are leaning on the Sharia Law side of the spectrum. America is keeping the rest of the western world back. Especially Canada, that's the only reason I care that you guys are fucking up your country.

This guy is getting ripped, and rightly so.

Yet most of the few mounting a defense are...

...women.

Tina Wilson Struzik
I support you, Congressman. Your record shows you to be pro life in all circumstances, and that was clearly the point of your statement, however poorly it was presented. Those who would willfully see it as otherwise were never going to vote for you anyway.
Brenda Edgington
Great -- well then don't listen to when he tries to walk it back and apologizes for his misspeak or gaffe, if you will. Better if he hadn't gone there, absolutely. Unforgiveable? Probably not. I can only look to the alternative for MO .
.. another term for Ms. Progressive give-it-all-away and leave nothing for our future generations. Not so much. Will cast my vote AGAINST the liberal McCaskill. Even though I'm pretty sure you on the left will believe she's never said anything outrageous .... huh?
Judy Capistrant
It must be VERY hard to have interview after interview, and with not much rest. So hard to be perfect...
Wanda Miller
I support you as well and am grateful to God that you are standing for those of us who were not able to do so against people who take advantage of innocence.
Pamela Pope
Cruse I agree, after long thought about this subject. Its not the child's fault that this happened. So why is it the child that suffers for it. Let the child live and make the rapist suffer~!!! Your correct Akin~!
Karen Gamble Bixby
Wow...I didn't know that here are so many perfect people who have obviously never said something and had it come out not the way you intended. Why don't you all focus on Claire's abysmal record and stop obsessing over what was clearly a mi
sspeak! And, Jack Cox...when you said "down there in Missouri" you obviously are from somewhere else, which begs the question...why are you on Todd's page? You don't even have a dog in this fight.
Marilyn Ingracia
I agree with Todd. Abortion is an offense against God and against the weakest and most vulnerable. I don't care if it was a "legitimate" rape, meaning truly a rape and not consensual, you liberal lemmings, or consensual.. Murder is murder
. How a baby became a baby doesn't really matter. Still a human being. And no one has the right to kill it. Being "legal" doesn't make it any less sinful and the most heinous of crimes imaginable. Just sayin' Maybe your mommy should have thought about having you ripped apart into pieces while you were all snugly, safe and warm in her womb. Sickos! And the audacity to talk about taking away your human right to kill a baby!!!!!! That baby has no rights because you don't want him to. You better look in the mirror and see who the stupid one really is. The world was outraged when Hitler had his henchmen cut the bellies open and tear out the baby of the jewish woman but all of a sudden it doesn't seem so bad to you, does it? Hmm..why is that?
Judy Capistrant
Claire McCaskil supports killing a baby at any stage of the game, supports socialistic policies, and is NOT for women. she needs to go. I LIVE in MO and she is terrible. Mr. Atkins made a mistake. Knock off all the "off the cuff" criticis...

I'll stop here. My head hurts.

Edit: Fuck, I can't stop. The idiocy... it's like catnip.

So the jackass didn't even bother to correct his fucking misinformation? Why did he bother saying his misspoke if he doesn't point out what his error was?

Didn't you know? Republicans are never wrong they are either misquoted, misinterpreted, flip flopped or the "liberal media" is out to get them. Take your pick..

This is worse than when a republican said god would prevent global warming and resources from dwindling.

Its amazing that there are people who are so set in their beliefs that they just make shit up to prove their point.

Men like this should not be allowed to run for office.

Dana Loesch said:
Was Akin's "misspeech" ridiculous? Of course. Is it worse than the misdeeds of his opponent, Claire McCaskill, who rubber-stamps Obama's war on Missouri coal jobs and tripled our deficit? Not by conservative standards, or any real standard of measurement.

...

"shut that whole thing down"?

What a fucking idiot. The "doctors" he has spoken to, assuming they exist, should lose their license immediately.

Paul Ryan calls Todd Akin principled and hails his leadership:
http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2...eadership-in-missouri-senate-race.php?ref=fpb

“Todd Akin has been a great asset to the House Budget Committee,” Ryan said in a joint press release last November with fellow House leaders, including NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions, and Republican Study Committee Chairman Jim Jordan. “His principled approach to fiscal responsibility is exactly the kind of leadership America needs and I appreciate his hard work.”

But he says he misspoke . . . but I don't see how . . . nothing in his later statement contradicts his earlier statement. As far as I can tell, he still believes in the very same fucking unscientific voodoo nonsense!

"bitches aint shit but hoes n tricks"

"But, I do agree that rape leads to pregnancy, muhfucker"

But he says he misspoke . . . but I don't see how . . . nothing in his later statement contradicts his earlier statement. As far as I can tell, he still believes in the very same fucking unscientific voodoo nonsense!

Misspoke, in this case, is to say what you actually fucking believe.

You think he's being asked to step down because of what he said?!?!?!

No, he's being asked to step down because he said it, not because he believes it. Too much letting of the cat out of the bag for an election season.
