Until Monday, the Missouri Senate race was one of the top targets of the Crossroads organizations, which together have spent $5.4 million in the state so far this cycle, largely on biting television commercials that seek to paint McCaskill as a big government-loving, tax-increasing liberal.

Mitt Romney reportedly told Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) to reconsider his decision to stay in the Missouri Senate race Monday, advising that he take the next 24 hours to make a final decsion. Campaign rules in Missouri allow Akin to drop out by Tuesday and be replaced. Romney "stopped short" of calling on Akin to leave the race, according to National Journal.

The Romney campaign told reporters that Romney plans to make the statement in an interview on WMUR in New Hampshire.

He was explaining the sort of situation he would allow an abortion in. The point of these things is to redefine what is really rape and who are acceptable victims to an almost unobtainable standard. This is why feminists on GAF push back so hard when people on try to demarcate between "rape" and "rape rape". We weren't joking when we said this was actually a thing people believe or that the attempts to separate "rape" and "rape-rape" were done for a reason.

And note the Catch-22: Only real rape victims, narrowly construed, are allowed to have abortions. But in the case of real rape, women don't get pregnant.

So no woman can have abortions.

This victim shaming and blaming has to stop. But since some hillbilly politician can come, spew venom and walk away scott free in the name of free speech and opinion, they leave their inevitable mark of prejudices on the viewers.

Problem like this one is just one of many that highlight the aforementioned problem.

The best or rather the worst part is, the onus is almost always on the woman. I guess we really haven't (at least globally) come very far from the days where it was written in the "good book" that being a woman is tantamount to being a man's property.

And if that is what the Republicans want to make their platform, then so be it, but suffer or gain any consequences of that position.
