Games you remember, names you don't

I did wonder if it could have been this, but the release date is an issue. CS:CZ was released in 2004, and this was definitely a year or two before that.

I watched the YT vid, and it's the sort of thing I'm thinking of. I'm starting to wonder if it was just a CS mod, and that I'm wrong in thinking it was single player.

Was it counter-strike with bots downloaded maybe?

For what it's worth, it appears the CS:CZ single player levels were leaked in mid to late 2003.

Looking for the name of a game from the early eighties. I've played it on an Apple //C. From what I can reconstruct from my memory it was a top down rpg set in Arabia or some other exotic location. Any ideas?

Ok here's an odd one. I played this game on one of those NES pirate combo carts, but I'm pretty sure it was an actual game. It was a block matching puzzle game like Dr. Mario etc, the catch was you were this little blob thing and you were on the right side of the screen and you threw the blocks over to the left, as opposed to the typical top down nature of these games. I believe some of the blocks had pink hearts on them. The game was actually a rather good puzzler as I recall.

Nevermind, I just found it, should have googled more first I guess.

Save me GAF. Its a genesis game. Character was a fox or rodent and wore armour like maybe a knight or something?

The enemies were pigs i think? Rented it and loved it when i was younger and could never remember what it was?

I haven't seen or played this game in at least 15 years so I'll try my best to describe it:
  • Characters: Possibly Micky Mouse but I'm not certain.
  • Genre: 2D sidescroller.
  • Platform: Either NES or SNES.
  • Graphics: I believe the graphics were fairly simple, so that leans me towards NES. It wasn't anything fancy like THIS.
  • Other: You went into houses and you also walked in the woods on a path I believe. It might of had coop, I seem to remember two characters. I never go that far in it.

Mickey Mousecapade

Here is the NA boxart:

And the title screen:

And the layout of the entire first level:

Also, funfact, this game's circuit board has a hidden Mickey etched on it! It was also developed by Hudson, but published by Capcom in America. It's original name was simply "Mickey Mouse", but changed when it went overseas, however the title screen still holds the original name.

Boom. Thanks. Nice info too.

edit:

Also, the bolded is why I could never find it. I thought it was just called Micky.

Nintendo DS game.

Third person firefighter mission based game with RPG aspects of levelling up weapons and stats I think.

Could use different types of hoses, equivalent of constant stream or charge and spray, or axes or foam.

I appreciate any help.

My Hero Firefighter or Jake Power: Fireman?

Nay. Not based on a license as far as I know and didn't use a cartoonish graphic style, just rather generic 3D geometry, set pieces, and human characters.

No driving in the game, just select the level you wanted and started right off with the mission. Outside a home, in an office building, in a hotel, etc.

I'm looking for a Survival Horror game on PC. It looked like Resident Evil, but it was on a station on Mars, I believe. It already had the partner swapping system from Resident Evil Ø later. I think the cover had some silhouette of a yelling dude on the planet surface.

@archnemesis

Thanks

I'll take a stab, though I'm probably off the mark: Gemstone Warrior?

My brain reads " top down rpg set in Arabia or some other exotic location" and thinks of the ad for Exile on Genesis, but that's way past early 80s.

Is there an OT equivalent to this thread? I've got pieces of a rap music video stuck in my head, and I need someone to help me identify it.

There's a game I played year back on the Sega Genesis that was incredibly similar to Altered Beast (which I've never played before). It has a herculean looking guy and an overworld... and enemies that jump from buildings. Any ideas?

Perfect. Thanks! Got so far in that game - I don't know how I managed.

It was really hard. I had it back in the day and never finished it-You could transform to a more muscular version of yourself too.

I'm pretty sure I bought it solely because the sprites were so huge.

Would you believe that in Japan it was a Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the Northstar) game? I am not surprised they censored it though...

I'm looking for the name of an old arcade game I used to play when I was a kid.

What I can remember:

- an arcade game from the early nineties (90-91-92 I think).
- it was a side scrolling action game, like Final Fight
- you could play with one or two players coop
- the main difference with Final Fight was that most (all?) of the combat was with guns instead of punch/kick; I remember the bullets being small white dots :)
- it was an urban setting, pretty grim I believe

To sum it up: Final Fight but with guns

Any help is appreciated!

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance?

Was it possibly Vendetta or Crime Fighters? Lots of pics here....the article says they use guns a lot in the games....
http://hardcoregaming101.net/crimefighters/crimefighters.htm

My bet is that it's Vendetta. Because there are a LOT of guns in that game iirc.

The Punisher? That isn't all guns but there are quite a few in it.

I'm afraid it's still something else. Although Vendetta looks like a fun game in its own right, thanks!

I'm not sure anymore it was only guns. The more I think about it, it might have been the usual punch/kick combat, but you could definitely pick up guns. I clearly remember the bullets being white dots/stripes moving over the screen :)
I think it had a more greyish color palette, and there were some parts in metro / slums areas. Definitely nothing cartoony / colorful.

I looked through some mame game lists, but didn't find it. I'm sure it's real though :)

Anyone Remember This Old PC Game

-It was a Top Down View Tactical Game
-You could play as SWAT or Terrorsits (Might have been like cult guys I dunno)
-The terrorists (cult guys) you could make kill themselves.

As a kid I found that all kinds of fucked up, but I want to go back and play ti but I have no idea what it's called.

Police Quest SWAT 2?

i gotta try this i got 2 I could never remember the names of
both are old games I played on some computers in early childhood.

One was some sort of top down adventure game, I remember being totally lost but trading with people, using a canoe to explore and always dying of dehydration or hunger, im not sure how certain the details are, on thing i have in my mind when i think of it is this snake with shining eyes on the title screen.

The second one, is a puzzle game on a school computer, you played as spinning atoms or something and had to change the color of the dots? or maybe you had to get from point a to b, not really sure ^_^ :S

anybody got any ideas?

I'll throw my guess out there with E-Swat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNyJ7bD7ui4

I thought this too, but SWAT 2 was isometric I think.

E-Motion? I always remember seeing the Einstein adverts in Spectrum magazines at the time.

I have some hard ones for everyone.

1. PC, DOS game (I think), flight game, flat shaded, had this odd building on the map that made strange noises and when you selected missions you could choose the colour of the world and make it funky.

2. PS1 or N64 combat racing game with upgradeable weapons and a dark (and bloody maybe?) theme to it and it is not Vigilante 8 or Destruction Derby (or carmageddon).
