True for me. Charles was often noble, despite realistic character flaws.

Mags should have the lead. Or better yet, Mags and Rogue.

As long as they aren't a couple, sure. But I have a feeling the xmen would go down a real dark path with those two.

Well even taking the fact of favorites out of the question, I believe Charles ideals were never going to get the mutants anywhere. Preemptive action is a concept I can get behind in certain situations.

Scott's and max' ideals werent making things better either. I'm really trying to think of who could lead them who won't end up killing most of them.

Amen to that. As far as Mags is concerned I feel the character is best served when he is depicted as someone who can never really change at his core, a person who believe his own supremacy above everyone else. Trying to make amends for his past Mags is not my fave. The person once persecuted for his being now is the persecutor and oppressor. Someone who will never see humans as an equal

Man I'm bummed if Daniel Way is taking over X-Force and it drops the Uncanny X-Force roster and world Rick Remender has crafted. It got me back into comics singlehandedly and gave me an X-Men team that feels like it matured as I have since I watched the 90s animated show. Bitter tears of agony. Way and Wolverine Origins started out as a great concept, Wolverine going on a revengence spree after suddenly getting his memories back; and then just got all unfocused. One run that's NOT unfocused, and in fact, exquisitely weaved is Remender's Uncanny X-Force. I put it right up there with Wheadon's Astonishing X-men as far as quality goes.

EDIT: Is it possible there will be an X-Force with Cable and whatever AND an UNCANNY X-Force title?

From the wiki (LINK):

The 2009 Dark Reign: Young Avengers limited series written by Paul Cornell, and Mark Brooks, introduces a new group of powered teens calling themselves the Young Avengers.

The point is this: I originally responded to someone saying that it would be cool if Kieron Gillen wrote the Young Avengers series, which I pointed out was unlikely to happen since it appears that Heinburg has a lock and key on the characters

Except that series has the actual Young Avengers. Fighting the other group.

Wednesday. Scalped finally ends. Ima be sad.

Can't agree. Mags has had a great character arc IMO, which is why Rogue sees what she does in him.

Carey's Rogue has been an amazing leader, and has grown immensely the way I see it.

Same how I feel about Bleeding Cool spreading this tasteless rumor about Johns leaving Aquaman. All of us fns out there that support Arthur and his world, only to be potentially dumped on with Giffen or Levitz. Fuck.

"Even heroes have the right to dream..."

I don't agree with the Mags part, see above. And Carey's Rogue/ Magneto development isn't something I like. I hope Gage puts an end to it. Hell I'll take Gambit over Mags.

Mags is a good character, and when shit hits the fan he is someone you want in your corner. I just don't like him and rogue together.

As for rogue, she led one of my favorite line ups, so max respect for that. But leader over all the xmen? No.

Aquaman is serious business, brah

Really loved Dynamite's Pathfinder #1. Really characterful, good first ish setup (even if you know nothing about the Pathfinder game or world), and the art is growing on me. It looks like old Slaine artwork in some respects. Not a huge fan of the faces not being on a model consistently, but the storytelling is nice, so I'm trying to deal.

Both the print and digital versions include a ton of supplemental game stuff at the end, at no additional $$, but the print also has a pull out map, so if you're interested in the game, choose wisely.

I'm amazed that the majority of reviews have really taken to it, as fantasy comics aren't usually taken in so quickly. Jim Zub's turned out to be a hell of a guy, and a good net buddy, so I can do nothing but wish him well with this. As a huge fan of Golarion, the world setting in Pathfinder, it thrills me that he has the game's creators as friends, as well as checking his canon info.

Anyone else check it out? If you enjoyed Image's Skullkickers, IDW's Dungeons & Dragons, or DC's Demon Knights, I think you own it to yourself to jump on this one.

Zub has some wildly cool plans coming up, centered on the characters first.

My fave cover out of the bunch.

Unfortunately, you still have to play Munchkin!

I really like the art on Skullkickers. I didnt pick it up when it came out, but ill buy the trade

I bit the bullet and ordered the New X-Men omnibus. It's my first oversized hardcover/omnibus, so I hope it's not as hilariously unwieldy to read as I think it's going to be.

I've got a stack of the trades and that's big. I think it's way too big, a hardcover should simply nt have 7 trades of material in it. This is not the dark ages and that is not a bible, there is no need for a book that big.

Anyway, best of luck to you and your soon to be crushed testicles good sir!

She's dead far too often, and being the phoenix on earth is a definite bad thing. Separate the two, and yeah, that could work.

Jean can be pretty harsh, though. Remember how she punished Emma during that whole affair? Of course, I think she was already starting to roll back into Phoenix mode at that point.

Well yes barring those two things.

Has Scott been banging anyone since Jean Grey? Perhaps that is the long term cause.

Emma Frost since before Jean's body was cold.

Not sure what that means. I've had countless hours of fun with friends and a set of Munchkin.

Dont like munchkin. It got old after one playthrough. I can see why its fun, but i just doesnt do anything for me.

Is all the art on those cards repurposed art or new art?

And DC needs to get DnA on a fucking Adam Strange book and just let these brahs run wild.
Brah, you are a genius. DnA could even save the shithouse Blue Beetle/The Reach is in right now.

Cosmic DC, thy name is DnA.
I'd buy it, in both cases, but in all honesty I'd rather see Hypernaturals be successful enough that they can keep going with that instead.
I love their Legion, and I loved their Guardians. I thought Thanos Imperative was great (though I wasn't all that taken with the two Annihilators minis).
Despite that, what I really want now is to see what they can do when they're not stuck upholding someone else's canon. I want to see them with the freedom to make their own.

My fave cover out of the bunch.
I actually liked most of the covers, which was why I was quite disappointed I actually ended up with the one I don't - I ended up with this one in my box, but there weren't any others on the shelf so I couldn't play swaps :P

I've never played Pathfinder but I like fantasy series (and enjoyed IDW's DnD series), and as this one seems to start quite well I'm definitely going to give it a chance.
Looked up Skullkickers based on this thread, and having looked that up I'm incredibly tempted to buy the trade of that too.

Bought the first issue in the comixology sale, loved the Cassaday story/art. It's three stories and two pin-ups, i didn't like Allred's story but the Busiek one was okay. I think i'll buy the next issue and continue, Waid has a story in issue #2.

Didn't they make out over her grave?

As she smiled down from Heaven? Yes, because Marvel can't stand to see a happily married red-head.

Maybe he needs to be banging someone else, or take up some activity to get that might lead to the massive stick up his ass being dislodged.

Well now any sex they have would technically be a threeway between Scott, Emma, and Jean, inasmuch as that weird timey-wimey stuff about Jean and the Phoenix being the same counts.

Ended up buying all the Rocketeer Adventures issues after liking the first one.

Another Comixology sale went up.....

Invincible Omnibus Sale!!!!!!!!!

I know the book has its fair share of haters, but if you are at all curious about a Kirkman cape book with fantastic art and more often than not fun adventures with a decent amount of wonder that is severely lacking in DC/Marvel cape books, give it a shot. High recommendation.

Criticizing its deficiencies in writing is not being a "hater". That's a terrible attitude to have.
