But then beating the boss would happen after like 5 tries. And people on Smogon would start getting streaks in the thousands.

I wonder how strong the AI could get if they really put their mind to it. Or rather, I wonder if it could be good enough to replace the cheating.

I'll have a pretty modest streak going and then CRITICAL HIT FLINCH HAX

It's so dumb.

Next game should have you competing against other players in the subway. Same basic concept but without BS AI.

That's practically what random match up is now. 3 on 3 (or 4 on 4 doubles), level 50, same Pokemon and item restrictions. You just don't earn BP.

I lost to a Panpour that kept Rock Slide flinching me to death.

I use Hydregion / Tyranitar / Gyarados in the subway. Basically, Draco Metoer secures a kill. Ttar sweeps everything else, and Defensive Gyarados is for fighting Pokemon.
 
If Aerodactyl is supposed to be a one of a kind Pokemon that can be only found through resurrecting the Old Amber, how did Lance get one?

Between that and Barrier Dragonite, I'm convinced Lance is actually Gameshark in NPC form.

Don't forget his level 36 Dragonite in HG/SS. His Aerodactyl in G/S had Rock Slide - Aerodactyl couldn't learn Rock Slide until FR/LG.
 
I never realized there were Pokémon with base stats as low as 5. With a disadvantageous nature, no EVs, and no IVs, that is a grand total of 13 points at level 100.

Shuckle's speed and Chansey's Attack/Defense are examples. :o

Haha! Yeah, I knew beforehand it had to have something along the lines of 1 point on HP. That doesn't count. :P



EDIT: After actually looking it up, Bulbapedia has a separate section dedicated to Shedinja's magical 1 HP.

I love Shedinja. Too bad he sucks with all the Stealth Rock/Sandstorm/Toxic Spikes etc around. I've used him a couple of times - I've had people give up as soon as he comes out when they realise none of their six Pokémon could hurt him (how is that even possible?).

Also one of the few
almost
foolproof Kyogre counters.

That thing is the reason I keep fire/flying moves on my team, I refuse to lose to something with 1 HP.
 
Sheddy can own as a last pokemon, but usually it in a situation where you've already cleared the field of anything that could kill you anyways. It's a great victory lap pokemon though.

What a cheat.

He probably should have Gamesharked Aeroblast onto Gyarados and ThunderPunch on Charizard in GSC, just so his whole team and be haxed.

I'm gonna regain ownership of my Platinum cartridge soon which should still have a lot of spares of a lot of legendaries, so I might be able to offer something in return too. Guess I'll make a list when I get the game back.

so bred and ev trained this jolly garchomp, turns out, my imperfect dragonite with random evs is better in the battle subway.

On a side note I finally caught a Dunsparce last week in White ! I should put one in a "competitive team" to troll people online, but that's not for soon...

Paralyse things then flinch them to death. Like Jirachi, but more awesome. Instead of Body Slam, you'll have to use the weaker Secret Power though... Or Glare if you want to hit Ghosts!

Alternatively you could try to get lucky with AncientPower.

Or just do both.
 
My issue with Sand Stream/Drizzle/Drought is that they last until something replaces them. They should be just like Sandstorm/Rain Dance/Sunny Day--5 turns only.
