I've thought about re-integrating Firebrand on a side team. I miss the little bugger. Plus he goes well with Skrull, whom is my second favorite character in the game.

Firebrand/Sentinel/Skrull.

That looks like pure fear to me.

It makes sense as a character I know. Not a game mechanic though in the current game, heh. So you want him to be in constant devil trigger mode?

Maybe if you drop his health way low.

Matter fact, they should do this. Make him "EX wolverine", hidden character. Not tourny legal. We shall see how this pans out!

I wish Hulk had a power up mode where he punches himself in the head to make himself even more angry and he got a speed boost of rage.

I'm down for IM sipping on a cocktail with his mask up before round, then tossing it and saying something witty and putting the mask down to get it on.

For his powerup hyper, he calls in WM, and he floats around the screen and calls bombs or whatever.

Or he calls Pepper for something, or something.

He should also have the Raiden superman move with his thrusters involved.

The reason why it's so stupid is because of how speed/damage boosts from install hypers stack on top of the x-factor boosts, the install hyper isn't added on top of the x-factor values, it is applied to them. It's idiotic. I figured out the numbers out of interest when I made my Dark Vergil video, and it suddenly explained why those characters pretty much engage YOLO mode as soon as they have both active at the same time.

Magneto needs it. The the way the boosts stack needs to be changed though, and the numbers lowered a little.

While not the most extreme example, Wesker doesn't have a 40% speed boost, he has a 43% speed boost. He also gets a 121% damage damage boost.

Vergil in with Devil Trigger active is 143.75% speed and 210% damage, I don't know Wolverine's numbers though.

The way they stack also does a bunch of other really stupid things, like making XF1 + DT Vergil waaaay more ridiculous than XF3 by itself.

Oh my god, this was actually comical the first time I saw it. Calculating it turns out to be 181.25% speed, lol.

This also explains why Dark Arthur is busted, etc.

Yup. That's why they are ridiculous.

Wolverine is nutso in BC LVL3XF. No one really uses it because Wolverine is primarily a point character but he's pretty much unblockable in that mode.

Vanilla Marvel had a lot of great matches with hype moments but it didn't have enough "epic" sets where it was back and forth between two top players because of the 2/3 format.

It also had characters that make Vergil look fair. Hard to get excited for matches that tended to blow out one way or the other, even in top level play.

IIRC, Firebrand can link s.M into itself ~7 times when fully boosted. It's hilarious...and his damage is still ass.

It's not a great team, but it's not a bad team. It's big problem is that Skrull and Dormammu are both weak point characters, and they have very little synergy together. It's basically two characters that benefit from Sentinel.

Dormammu/Sentinel is pretty good, but not great. People already tend to superjump toward Dormammu to get in, so you end up doing a lot of dancing around the screen. It was better in Vanilla when Dormammu couldn't combo off of Dark Matter himself, because Sentinel Force let you do it. Neat fact: if you call Sentinel Force and Mass Change M, the drones teleport across the screen, right behind your opponent. Really weird, but catches people off-guard.

Personally, I think Sentinel Force is best used for its lockdown potential, and Dormammu is only so-so at utilizing that.

Skrull/Sentinel has been a top tier combination since the game released, but Skrull has just never been popular enough for it to make a splash at tournaments. I really think that Firebrand/Skrull/Sentinel is a potential top team in this game.

Also, Skrull backed by Bolts of Balthakk is roughly as good as Sentinel Force.
 
Skrull with bolts is stupid due to the fact bolts doesn't create a true blockstring so he gets sick elastic slam setups.

Bolts works great with command grabbers.

Neurosis v Amiyu (ss) - highest level for two characters you do not see all too often at the business end
