Fighting Games Weekly | August 27 - September 2

We got early perfects at Big Two.

What is the source of this gif? I've wondered for so long

Does have any idea or could ask Chris Matrix or Yipes when the next Curleh Mustache or Chris Matrix Skill challenge is?
I thought The Chris Matrix Challenge was just a one time thing?

The next Curleh Mustache is most likelily in October. Yipes schedules them away from bigger events, so it was supposed to be in September but got pushed back.

Seems like Yipes had a plan to do an international, or at least a UK one, but he's kinda hinted to the next one being back on the east coast.

Some random music video someone made. It was posted in MahvelGAF but I don't have a link to it.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if the Challenge was a one time thing. I really liked the concept of it.

Yeah guess Big Two just isn't the place to be any more. Hopefully they can turn things around to attract players back but it might take some time.
...what?

Sp00ky was just saying there was a crazy amount of people there today at Next Level.

It's getting just as many entrants as it used to before too. More than a few months ago at the very least when it was 20 or so per both games (AE and UMvC3).

It's too soon to call that.

I assumed he was specifically talking about persona 4

Eh, I don't see what, from Next Level's perspective is pushing people away or what they need to do to get them back. Seems like it's just players not coming out, plain and simple.

But yeah it is way too soon to say stuff like that.

Yeah i don't see this as next levels doing either. Anime players are notorius for this. I'm gonna blame the low numbers though from guys being "hungover" from summer jam and school just starting back.

Does this type of player segregation exist in Japanese arcades to this degree?

Sanford's supposed to play Chris G in winners, I hope they stream it.

EDIT: Chris G won 3-2. Sounds close, would've liked to see that.

This is the point in the story line where Chris G wins the tournament and cuts a promo, saving the game and the anime scene from their own demise.

"Show me love the only way you know how...with your velcro wallets. See you next week. Stay free."

I'm still not sure which way they will go. What you say makes sense, but surely they need to be building him up as a face for when he faces Champ.

So I'm thinking there will be a swerve somewhere.

Yes. Sp00ky finally being the streamer to heed my call. Screw venue internet for life. Get that fast mobile net and get the quality synonymous with TS at all tournaments TS streams.

Yeah what's up with the quality? What connection is he using exactly?

Persona 4 Arena confirmed dead? Good. Only room for two games in this community: UMVC3 and I guess SF4 for the foreign.

Those other games were too hard to understand, anyway.

Persona is not dead. I expect decent numbers in Cali and coming off a major I don't think a lot of people would show up any way.

I haven't played Persona but this teddie character with all the weird projectiles(and meteors) kinda reminds me of faust...

Yea he's in the same vein, even has a faust skin.

seeing ChrisG play Liz hurts a little bit. I feel if he used more of Liz's tools he'd do much better.
