Random team select Marvel is stupid fun as is, and would be great to watch too. Watching players create set ups and adapt on the fly would be great.

Would need to be more creative or would just be a mess of people doing basic or stupid stuff, or getting a lucky draw.
Say a team tournament where you get a selection of characters and each team member must take one and build a team around it. Force some creativity, but keep it semi-structured.

As a rule, a random select tournament just means whoever happens to random a character he/she knows wins.
It's better to run a tournament that has "no mains" as a rule, and people have to come up with fresh teams. The rule would have to be something like "no character you have used for more than 20% of your UMvC3 tournament matches". Or something.

P4U is mad hype.
They just need to change their business models. Gootecks said it would return, but probably not in the same form as before. It's true, they don't need couches and a big studio for them to make the content they want to make.
As professional as they appear, it looks like they got suckered into some pretty bad ventures with Machinima and The Stream, both of which they suffered from financially instead of being 100% self-made.

If you are talking for UMvC3 how many players put in the effort to learn more than 3 characters in this game? It'll be fun to see guys who do like Chris G, J Wong, MastaCJ and Josh Wong in a random select tourney, but for everyone else it'll be painful to watch them play.
