Forza Horizon - Fall 2012 - Developed by PlayGround Games

Because the game takes place in Colorado.
And I'm going to guess (read: pulled out of my ass) that they place the entire game in Colorado for purposes of providing a grounded storyline progression with the side benefit of environmental asset re-use. This also positions them to make Forza Horizon: Autobahn or Forza Horizon: Tokyo Drift like installments.

But there's nothing to stop them from creating their own 'homage' versions of Transfalagafargalarg or Pike's Peak in their very own virtual version of Colorado, if they were so inclined.

cos mericans dont like games set outside merica duh
Yeah, nothing is more American than Forza. Its like apple pie.

Aventador vs airplane gameplay offscreen

That looks fantastic! Don't Lamborghini also make a single-seater helicopter though? Can't help thinking PG missed a trick there. Could have been a neat twist on the Lambo vs Lambo race (even though it's not really a race per se, it's a target time trial that happens to have a plane buzzing overhead to make it feel like a race, but you get the idea).

Loved the editing at the beginning, it cracked me right up: "...turning car lovers into *CUT TO VIDEO!!*".
It's like the editor thought "Jesus Christ, they're not peddling that same old mantra are they?".
I hope they never drop it. It's part of Forza folklore now.

lol

I think some disgruntled Gaffer uploaded and edited that video. No way that was just a coincidence..

Forza 2025...still trying to turn car lovers into gamers..etc..

his pt is that it still has Forza in the title, and that's what most people that don't follow games as close as here will see...

Dedicated racing sim fans, even trolls like Xanadu, know this is just a spin-off. People who only follow racers casually aren't likely to care about FM anyway. Or if they do, it's probably because they play it more like an arcade racer, with assists and everything, and Horizon is right up their alley. In other words, it can only do good to the brand as far as that market segment is concerned, and sim fans know Motorsport is their series.

Pre-ordered a bunch of games in the last few days, I was still on the fence about this one but that behind the scenes video managed to push me over.

If only the game had a similar multiplayer free roam aspect as Test Drive Unlimited did.

It has, but with the difference that you have to invite the people, instead of getting annoyed by random people ;)

Once again, I'm really thinking about getting a solo 360S for 100 bucks on ebay and using my old equipment. Just for this game.

Damn you, PG and T10.

This kind of game can def work, so long as they don't follow the NFS: generic route where the game doesn't have much of a goal. I really enjoyed Test Drive Unlimited a lot. Everything was really cool and i loved the exploration aspect of it. Being in a citymakes it more interesting than just open winding roads.

But the point of this game seems to be non-track racing/driving. One stage, or place, no matter how long, ultimately feels too repetitive. Wouldn't anyone want this type of game to be a or have diffferent scenarios:

Choose your race type:
1) Free roaming a city where you challenge people to races, do missions, etc
2) Choose a driving route to set up the fastest online time with a given car (Autobahn, Stelvio, the Hanna pass in Maui, etc
3) Highway (Tokyo, LA, NY), roam the highways at night and TXR'd people on them. I mean, isn't this what we'd actually like to do with our cars? Go out at night on the highway and challenge other cars to a race? There have been NO games that let you do this other than Import Tuner Challenge back at the Xbox launch.

I hardly play anything online but this is the kind of game i'd like to. If you can do a six player point to point race online where you race as a team (2vs2vs2, 3vs3) that would be a blast.

I'll wait for the initial reviews from users but truth be told i'm starving for a racing game and i haven't had anything new since Forza4.

pretty certain that while free roaming you'll see other festival entrants that will challenge you, or you can choose to challenge them, much like the old tokyo challenge games

Xanadu why are you so salty.

He's full of teenage emo rage.

"I liked forza before it got all mainstream"

I guess nobody ever got round to buying a legit copy of Spiderman 3.
Oh, they did. But it it looks weird with that clean IQ. Lacks soul and charm.
I am out again, so ridiculous that the one dude can rile up everyone here, again and again.

It's because people don't learn. They know how he is, they know what he posts, they know that his contribution is close to zero. And yet they don't ignore him.

people cant stand free speech i guess!

Xanadu I don't understand what has you so upset. You'll get your mainline Forza game next round.

If this was the first reveal pic of Forza 5... He would shit bricks. (We all would)

Have patience and enjoy Horizon... The next entry isn't far off.

(BTW... If any of you Turn 10 guys are reading this. A pic like this would generate hype)

We'll get there, not this gen, but we will. It's not too far off on PC but we need that next gen jump for racing games to hit what I call the perfect graphics status. It'll just look real.

project cars looks almost real in some shots, and actual gameplay too

Yeah I agree but it's still a bit behind a screenshot like that, specially in the rain department. Of course, the game isn't out yet, so... You never know I guess. :)

Yeah I'm leaving too. Half of my page is hidden posts and the other half is people quoting those shit talks.

Just remembering his first post in this topic

just from that trailer i know i will hate this game already,

a shame to see a once great series go down hill with each game

I just leave as soon as he posts.

True that half the threads missing for the last few pages. Blatant troll that should be banished and not allowed to sign up on yet another tag.

Heh pretty much. I think he just has this irritable urge to use threads like this as a venue to reiterate on share how disappointed he is that none of the forza sequels have match up to the vision behind the original. Yet he wonders why people thinks he's upset and hides behind the false pretense of "free speech", when he doesn't realize the thread could use less smirks and insinuating remarks, like implying fans of Horizon are the same people who loves dubstep, etc. When you complain that much, you'd actually think he's in denial :p

Another tag? That explains... hahah

Got Horizon LCE pre-ordered and I don't know what the fuck dubstep is.

Although I'm sure it's awful.

I didn't have a clue what dub step was until people started claiming that a Far Cry 3 trailer used it. Then I heard Horizon's trailer use of dub step.

Now, it's not something i'll start listening to in my car but as far as game trailers go, it works!

The very first thing I do in any racing game even before looking at graphics options is find the sound options and turn off music.

I'd pay extra for a no dub step edition.
