The price is now £284.99 on the black WiiU page.

Amazon keep putting the price up, they're insane.
Current premium price is equivalent to $459, that's $159 more expensive than in the US.
I'm gonna guess they are about to add a choice of "free" game to the item soon - which is why the price is now going up - if that makes sense.
Are they reliable? I've never heard of them before. I would like to buy mine in a shop on the day of release, but this is a good price.
If you ignore VAT.
Sure I just saw the price of the base pack go up £20.
It was £199 earlier and they yanked it
It was £220 about half an hour ago and they yanked it
It's now £249
I have a preorder for 220. Will they cancel it?

Checked the email they sent... It's 220.The 8GB model doesn't have the Pre-order price promise underneath... my guess is they are thinking about culling previous orders before instating the price promise.

US price if you added VAT - $420Even if you ADD IN Vat.
Will buy Premium if it hits £225 (on Amazon). It should.
£240 - £250 with a good game would be fine too.
Amazon have cocked up and put the 32GB down to £199.

I have one for £199
let's hope not!
they will
If Amazon get a rush of preorders, then it seems unlikely they would alter their pricing (other than going up which they seem to be doing). In the UK market though, if you can wait, it's always better to do so. The launch is good timing for Nintendo with Christmas soon after, but after that is when it will get most interesting, if sales start to slow down (which at anything over £250 for the premium model seems like there would be a good chance to me), retailers will cut prices very quickly like they always do.
Some of the prices we're seeing are funny, I'm not sure what market they think they're in, but it's not one which can maintain a selling price of £285 for very long (after Christmas especially).

Jumped on it.
No way they let me keep it, though.
Says £199 on the product page, but £289 in the basket
