Wii-U - Amazon listing UK prices and launch date

I know Nintendo can't fix a price, but can they give Amazon a good fucking slap? £25 difference for Nintendoland, 32GB and Nintendo Network Premium is insane.

If Amazon get a rush of preorders, then it seems unlikely they would alter their pricing (other than going up which they seem to be doing). In the UK market though, if you can wait, it's always better to do so. The launch is good timing for Nintendo with Christmas soon after, but after that is when it will get most interesting, if sales start to slow down (which at anything over £250 for the premium model seems like there would be a good chance to me), retailers will cut prices very quickly like they always do.

Some of the prices we're seeing are funny, I'm not sure what market they think they're in, but it's not one which can maintain a selling price of £285 for very long (after Christmas especially).

Well before today's news I was allocating £400 for a bundle so looks like zombi u premium pack it is. I'll use the rest to get another couple of games.

£264.00 that is €320 not much of import value there :(
Console will cost 350 here and I have to get an UK to mainland EU power adapter also so I'll be so close to 350 that its not worth it sadly.

Are they reliable? I've never heard of them before. I would like to buy mine in a shop on the day of release, but this is a good price.

I pre-ordered Tekken Tag Tournament 2 from them on Monday and received it yesterday. It's release date is tomorrow.

That's my one and only time dealing with them, but it's a good start.

Did a one-click preorder on Amazon, checked my e-mail and it's telling me it's more expensive than when I clicked the pre-order button. Spoken to somebody there who clearly thought I was some kind of fibber.

:P cancelling

I'd check your order history to be sure, I thought I'd pre-ordered it at the old price and it wasn't until about 10 minutes later the e-mail arrived and had a higher price.

Still got my 199 from earlier. If they cancel it I'm going to flip on them :D

Just secured my premium bundle aswell. I get tax off so £240 for me.

Checked the email they sent... It's 220.

Dammit, I saw "£264.00 & Free Delivery with Amazon Prime" and clicked the pre-order button straight away, I'm guessing they upped the price the split second between the page loading and me clicking the button. You would think with one click it would alert you if the price has gone up while looking at the page - but it doesn't.

Sad panda now ;(

this is much more expensive than I anticipated. I remain hopeful that supermarkets will have in store offers and that I will be able to get one with ZombiU for £250 or less.

I have one for £199

let's hope not!

they will :(

I don't know...they honored my Dead or Alive 5 Collector's Edition for £34. And I don't think they received that many orders for the 199-Wii-U. The offer was only online for about 5 Minutes, while everybody was watching the live streaming event.

Depends on PS3/360. If they stay relatively high, then all the home consoles are similarly priced and Nintendo may feel no pressure to cut prices.

F5'd a few times and got the premium for £199, honour this one amazon and I'll forgive the earlier cock up price increase I've now cancelled.

If there's one thing Amazon hates, its dealing with pissed off customers. Waited a week extra for my copy of Mass Effect 3 only for it to break after today. Wrote a very severe email I'm not particularly proud of that resulted in a free replacement copy of the game and a £5 Amazon voucher.

EDIT: Premium has gone up by £5 again! Da fuck!

Make sure you don't do 1-Click, because they don't confirm those orders for 30 minutes.

Make sure you go through the manual way and confirm your order.
