Buy the system and the game, play it and then sell it....
Selling a console is never a smart idea. If you're so strapped for cash don't buy it in the first place.

you clearly need to look up what selective reading means, i acknowledged the salt, and your avatar tells me all i need to know about what your reply stems from.

Well, looks like I'm getting a Wii U.
...Unless of course NoA localizes it!![]()

NEVERSo... now that ya guys get Bayonetta 2 and stuff. Can you stop complaining about DMC?![]()
busy trying to avoid bankrupcy on family business
That doesn't seem to reflect the thread really. People aren't mad it's not on Orbis/Durango, they're mad it's not on PS360. Systems they don't need to buy, because they own them. There's nothing wrong with not wanting to buy a console for one game. In fact, it is smart to wait until there are several. But I also think that anyone posting here has been through a couple of generations In their time and has gone through this whole song and dance before. Outside of corporate loyalty, you choose hardware based on interesting software. That's how it has always been. I can't imagine you've never been in a situation like this before. New generations start, and you have to decide which systems to buy.
The puzzling part is people deciding that Bayonetta 2 will always be the only interesting game on the system before it has even launched, and thus getting downright angry about the platform this game is on.
I agree, there certainly are ways around it. But I still don't find the idea 'puzzling'.Surely there are more than just one game you can find to buy for the system?
and the save up for the game/system and then sell it or find someone around you to borrow the system from.
There are ways to go about this.
But if that's too much then move on.
I bought an Xbox to play Star Ocean 4 (dear god what have I done???) and a Vita to basically play Gravity Rush. Wii U isn't going to die the day after Bayo2 comes out. I'm sure there will be enough games to make it worth it.
I buy systems to play games I want to play.
Plus you can get a system for cheap rather quickly nowadays with Amazon (Got my Vita for 100 bucks).
Some of the reactions to this news really make it hard to not think that, beneath Nintendo criticism, there really is just a practically religious meme that "Nintendo is LOL stupid kiddy and sux", no matter WHAT Nintendo could ever do or say.
There's so much rationalization flying around right now, denying what is happening in front of people's eyes.
Nintendo is doing exactly what they said they'd do, in spite of all the skepticism leveled at them.
They are doing what it takes to make Wii U the 'something for everyone' platform, they are getting the hardest of the hardcore niche titles like Bayonetta locked down, they're getting Monster Hunter. They pull out a fully respectable and intriguing showing of Call of Duty, replete with features that genuinely interest like IR gameplay options and full play on the controller itself.
But as Opiate said, there is no magical aura around a console or even brand that forever defines what it is. People seem to think there are only two kinds of set top game box: LOL KIDDY TOY and HARDCORE COME AT ME BROWARE. It's like it is breaking brains wide open, the notion that this thing is actually trying to do everything, and there is a possibility it might actually succeed.
Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.
How is it puzzling? I have 0 interest in a Nintendo console or their franchises, I want Bayonetta 2, I'm not going to buy a console for one game.
There, mystery solved.

It's a Wii U exclusive, and you want it, but you don't want a Wii U? This makes no sense.I want it, but not enough to pay 300 bucks on a Nintendo console. Again, I don't buy a new console for one game only.
Oh God.
It was announced for all three regions.
Come on.
Mind posting some examples? I haven't seen anything indicating that so far (but this thread moves way too fast for me to keep up anyway).
yes, the salt it typical, if it wasn't Nintendo, it would be for whatever other console they didn't own, but the Nintendo Zealotry sticsk out more because its exclusive to Nintendo fans. You guys seriously have a problem with people NOT wanting a nintendo console.
read above.
w..t..h..
what are you trying to say?
This is, without question, one of the best posts I have ever read in my two and a half years reading GAF. Incredible. Hit the nail right on the fucking head. Some of the reactions to this news really make it hard to not think that, beneath Nintendo criticism, there really is just a practically religious meme that "Nintendo is LOL stupid kiddy and sux", no matter WHAT Nintendo could ever do or say.

Like I said, WiiU only appeals to people who like Nintendo games... and that's pretty much it.
No, it makes sense. I wouldn't buy a console either if there's exactly one game I'd want for it. I mean, would you fork over 400 bucks just to have fun for 12-20 hours? I wouldn't.It's a Wii U exclusive, and you want it, but you don't want a Wii U? This makes no sense.
So should we expect them to get angry when new games are announced for Sony's or Microsoft's new systems, since they don't own those yet either? We are moving forward into a new generation now. It's that time, so you might want to warm up to the idea of new hardware. That doesn't seem to reflect the thread really. People aren't mad it's not on Orbis/Durango, they're mad it's not on PS360. Lol. You really shouldn't try pulling the "bias/fanboy" card.

I'm wondering if the 2 in the title is going to make marketing more difficult then it could be if they go with Bayonetta: Subtitle

You should have realised after all this time that console loyalty is quite similar to sports loyalty. There are very few people who follow veritably understandable reasons to stick to one manufacturer.
fuck yes this is what I was expecting (and lol at the people who bit the bait)
I can't wait for this. Hopefully the Wii U controllers are comfortable enough for action games.
I don't buy consoles to play 1 exclusive game. Not anymore at least.
Like I said, WiiU only appeals to people who like Nintendo games... and that's pretty much it.
Right, this is the sort of thing I'm getting at too. Most likely that this is a self fulfilling prophecy.
The Wii U is a system that is not out yet. So far, there is apparently at least 1 game that Broktasten wants that will be available within "Launch window."
Rather than say something like, "hey, good start," or "I'll keep my eye out then," his response is to be frustrated that the Nintendo system is getting any games he personally wants.
Well, obviously the Nintendo system won't be something you want if you are upset every time an appealing game is announced for it.
It's amazing how people are struggling with this.
YOU JUST DONT WANT IT ENOUGH, POSER! FANBOY! LOGO LOVER!
Most likely that this is a self fulfilling prophecy.

. . . that seems blown out of proportion
Welcome to four years ago. The future was yesterday.Whatever. This is not Edo Jidai anymore.

say hello to the pro controller
Nintendo critics: I'm tired of Mario and Zelda, give us some original IPs and better 3rd party support.
Nintendo: Look, we got Bayonetta 2.
Nintendo critics: Noooo! I want to play it on my system choice!
It's a Wii U exclusive, and you want it, but you don't want a Wii U? This makes no sense.
They may not be interested in anything else on the system so spending 300$+ for 1 game angers them. I'm sure they're glad it exists they just wish it wasn't in this way. Shit happens though that's what exclusives are about, if they care that deeply about the franchise they'll get it, but I think they have a right to be upset and it's not blind Nintendo hating.
If I knew for 100% certain that a Remedy game was exclusive to a platform and wouldn't ever go to PC or anywhere else I'd probably get it for that. I was pissed at Microsoft for a long time for keeping Alan Wake exclusive. I waited out for it on PC hoping Remedy would find a way to do it and was rewarded eventually but I don't think that's going to be the case with Bayonetta 2. Maybe Nintendo only made a 1-2 year deal with Sega though and after that Sega can do what it wants with it who knows.
are you trying to not comprehend what i'm saying? its not about Bayonetta 2, its about the disbelief that people don't want to buy a wiiu over this.
because not wanting to pay 3+ dollars for a console +bayonetta 2 means a lack of want of bayonetta 2. He wants it, he clearly just doesn't need it..especially not that bad.
Honestly, people that post the bolded are more annoying than the overly flamboyant angry ones.
"If you want to play Bayonetta 2 you need to get a Wii-U, Deal With It Hurr."
It's like;
No Fucking shit.
I'm still worried. The right stick is where the face buttons normally would be. Will be interesting to use with MH3GHD in December.

This is a special case though, even without the performance difference debate, this was a PS360 game that was cancelled. So should we expect them to get angry when new games are announced for Sony's or Microsoft's new systems, since they don't own those yet either?
