People who are taking it that far, well... I'm reminded of the insane, truly fanboy level reactions when Devil May Cry 4 went multiplatform. And that was JUST for the game going multiplatform! It's not like PS3 owners would not be able to buy it. It triggered meltdowns and started a petition (fucking petition) just on the principle that it was insulting to the nebulous aura of Playstationness.

So in context, the death threats on twitter are probably a reasonable and predictable degree of escalation.
 
After Bayonetta was released, I was coming back on the bullet train with Yusuke Hashimoto, pondering various ideas for sequels or spin-offs to Bayonetta over a beer. I never thought we’d actually get to announce a sequel to her story, so I am absolutely over the moon.
Even though there has been a bit of a gap since the release of the last game, but I still got lots of request for a sequel from gamers. We were secretly making one the entire time. While I am not the director of this game, I am still supervising the world, story, characters, etc. in close coordination with Hashimoto, and I have been from the very beginning. You have nothing to work about on that end. And of course, plenty of members from the first Bayonetta are on-board and working hard under the direction of Hashimoto, so I look forward to work every day, coming in and seeing all the progress they have made on the game. With new hardware, we look forward to expanding on the Climax Action of Bayonetta, so sit tight and get ready!

Exclusive on a nintendo console are you effin serious!?!?! I put over 99 hours into the first game (but it did count menu time if you were afk) but still.... **** YOU NINTENDO!!! I used to love you but no more. I don't have a wii and i will only be sticking to your portable consoles. You bastards trying to consolidate power by taking away such a great game from the 360 and PS3 community!!

The only games i play are fighters and a small amount of action games since I don't have much time for games anymore. Man, I haven't seen a megaton thread in a while. Then I take a couple days off from gaf and I see MH3 and Bayonetta announced for Wii U. WTF!

Anyone ever tell the dude that the majority of North America and Xbox Live gamers didn't give a shit about Bayo and Micro is acctually supporitng games that people who support there system actually want?

Lets be real here, Bayonetta getting continued support from them was as likely as them putting out more high level RPGS after LO and Blue Dragon and we saw how that worked out for Mistwalker.
 
He made a JP tweet about people who keep saying "kamiya never makes sequels."

Here's my rough translation.

"'Kamiya said he doesn't want to/like to make sequels' Lots of people are saying this, but as I keep saying (x10), my biggest wish is to make games that make people happy. I have no rule that I'll never make sequels so stop spreading lies/rumors."

You guys fall for troll posts so easily. Explains why this thread has more views than copies the first Bayonetta sold in North America.

Okay but--stay with me here--what's more likely: That, or the idea that Bayonetta 2 is a Wii U exclusive because Apple paid off Sega to cancel the original game and ignore Microsoft's and Sony's phonecalls, leaving them no choice but to jump in bed with Nintendo? In this way, people still using a WINDOWS PC INSTEAD OF A MAC IN 2012 will be outraged and have no choice but to abandon their Windows systems in favor of greener pastures.

Apple's the true enemy here.

Hey I don't mind.

I got a good chuckle out of it, and this kinda stuff on Kamiya's twitter could result in something even more magical then the game could ever hope to be.
 
Bayonetta and Vanquish were the first two games I owned for my PS3.

Well, that and Uncharted 2. But it came with the system.
