in Bayo1, Bayo and Jeanne used the same frame (but Jeanne had smaller boobies and a smaller butt), so they stood exactly the same, with the arms out from their sides and everything

the sage goes into that same posture here

Either way, I hope the Sage is playable in some way. Would explain why the logo uses Lumen colors. Also, does anybody else find it weird that the witch in the teaser is never show? Yeah, the original game's teaser is similar, but they do actually show glipses of Bayonetta there. Here, they don't show anything but the legs.

My god almost 90 pages in less than 24 hours. I really didn't know Bayonetta was that big. I guess I'll have to pick up a copy and see what it's all about.

I don't think it's Jeanne, she got some feathers on her weapons. But the sign attached to the weapon isn't Bayo's either.

man, that iwata asks and "THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY MEEE" on the same page, icant

i replaced "fuck" with "shit" in the search and lol east of eastside is still going at his racist rants against nintendo and neogaf

oh man, that yakuza 4 hating dude is still doing his thing. shine on you crazy diamond.

That is probably the best/worst part about this entire thing.

Bayonetta isn't remotely this big and it's possible that this one could do even worse then the original.

The leg stomp is the inverse of the one Bayonetta did from a trailer for the first game. It's like saying "She's putting her other foot down."

Gotta wait for dat ass.

Nintendo Good Exclusive 3rd party content? Such a thing exists in this day and age?

*excites*

I think it will depend how heavily Nintendo gets out there and promotes it. And not just actively promotes it - but actively sitting down and explaining it. Bayonetta isn't the type of game that you look at once and go "That's the kind of game I want". It looks, to be honest, weird. It's super sexualised and super stylised, there's esoteric religious references everywhere, it's a problematic kind of game to sell. But it's also probably the greatest action game ever created. And that's kind of appealing.

Don't agree on it being the best Action game ever, but while I won't be buying Bayo 2 I will certainly want to see how Nintendo tries to spin and sell this thing and bring it to a larger audience.

Quite frankly I don't trust Nintendo of America to explain shit at this point. That conference was saved on content, not delivery.

Madworld 2

Ugh.

Honestly I kinda hope we just leave Mad World behind. I didn't care for Bayo and won't support Bayo 2, but I'm still happy for those who love it. Madworld 2 would just make me sad to see it again when it could be a new IP from Plat.

OMG the meltdown continues :) . I can't stop laughing after reading this in another forum:

"It's 3:00 am here but I can't sleep because I got such a brilliant idea while thinking about this whole Bayonetta 2 case.
Bayonetta 2 is published by Nintendo so it almost surely will never be ported to another system BUT Sega still owns the Bayonetta trademark, which means they only grant license to Nintendo and PG to make Bayonetta 2. It also means that Sega can decide to release another Bayonetta game ANYTIME.
Here's what happens : Sega knocks at Platinum Game's door and says "ok guys I know you're losing millions with that WiiU only Bayonetta 2. Here's what we do : we develop a Bayonetta Σ2/2'/ 2 complete edition or whatever on PS3/360 and we change that pixel here so we get A DIFFERENT GAME from the one Nintendo published, thus plainly legitimate juridically speaking". Needless to say, such a scheme would drive the game's profitability significantly up, which would be extremely beneficial to Platinum Games.
So what do you think of my evil plan, which I've already submitted to Sega?"

Dear god.

Granted some on Gaf have said something similar though in a much smoother way so as not to come across as a complete idiot but still, this is just sad.

The Already submitted to Sega made me smile though.

I seriously doubt thats Bayo. Different guns, different boots, character not shown.

There's a problem with this theory:

Nintendo is the one who knocks.

I thought Madworld was good fun. It was repetitive and short, but still a unique experience that could definitely be improved.

It had a lovely visual style and a kickass soundtrack too.

I am not sure why Platinum would lose millions on anything involving this title. Nintendo is paying them to develop it, if it does well, they might get royalties. That's it. There won't be any reusing of assets from this game. They are with 99% likelyhood 100% owned by Nintendo.

Further, you need to understand that the market viability for mid range budget console titles such as Bayonetta is pretty much on the verge of collapsing if it hasn't already. As would be evident by companies like Sega seemingly being unable or unwilling to fund this sequel. If it wasn't for Nintendo and their ways to make non-bet-the-farm projects commercially viable, we'd soon be stuck with just a call of duty and an assasin's creed a year and that's pretty much it.

so the news from nikkei a while back was that nintendo was looking around to help revive old ips. seaman 3d was an example of such a game (and is being made?). zombi u was another part in this effort. bayonetta 2 must be included in this as well.

i wonder what else is there. games that didn't get sequels, or had sequels partially made and then never released.

mega man legends 3
skies of arcadia 2
jak and daxter 2
jet set radio - the one that was being made for the wii and then canceled
etc

also no sonic game is kinda weird at this point. maybe they're done with exclusive nintendo games and exclusive sony/ms games switching off every year and want to keep costs down by keeping things in tune with each other.

which you WILL DO! oh man, i kinda feel bad for sega's twitter people today

It's tough work being a PR person... especially one of the lower shills that gets stuck in a way too public a place.

At this point, I think it would be in Sega's best interest just to ignore further comments on anything tagged Bayonetta.

The best part about all this is Sega is finally getting all the deserved backlash for cancelling the game in the first place, that being said, for the dumbest reason possible.

Well, he's hit bargaining so hopefully he's almost at acceptance.

I was reading the SRK thread about Bayonetta 2, and there are a ton of gems there. They seem really really mad. Also, it seems we are over death threats, and now people want more than that.

I skipped the boring parts.

blablabla i hate Nintendo blablabla Nintendo sucks

I really hope someone blows up Nintendo HQ.

Been so long since a proper megaton that I can't remember the last one. Thanks GAF, read every page!

My only lament is that this pretty much puts the kibosh on Bayo 2 ever seeing PC, but I'm cool with this outcome.
