I'll say this much, I've always felt you have the most appropriate tag. To that end, I hope you don't get too introspective, I don't think the two would be healthy put together :p Might be why you feel you fail at being funny, though I don't think you do, you're just funny like Marvin the Android is funny.

I'm definitely more interested in the implications of all this instead of just Bayonetta 2 going on the Wii U.

Which reminds me, I need to actually open that copy of Bayonetta that was sitting for months and actually play it >_>

This. Skimming through ESPN and even some statuses/comments on Facebook has been pushing me away from sports.

The gaming community, while it has its scum (as demonstrated by the Bayonetta 2 announcement), is wholly better.

I wouldn't even want Bayonetta 2 on 360/PS3, I would want it on 720/PS4. Why? I want to see Bayonetta running on powerful hardware. I buy a console that has a wide array of software I initially want and roll with it, I've never gotten a new console to play just one game. It's completely and easily understandable that Nintendo most likely saved Bayonetta 2 from cancellation and it's good the series doesn't die, but not being able to voice your opinion without "Deal with it" posts and the other switch and bait attacks is pathetic. The wall of shame collection is also childish and immature, the best way to stop bad discussion is to make a spectacle of it?

About to hit 100 pages. This is surely one of the biggest meltdowns to hit the internet, no? I never thought it was Bayonetta, of all games, to do this.

Now I'm curious to see how far in development is this. Seems really early, I think.

I got to a certain point and stopped. I kept getting bodied by a certain enemy and gave up. I need to man the fuck up and get past those bastards! >:|
 
I'd really like Kamiya to come in and tweet to how moronic and unreasonable many gamers have been about the Bayonetta 2 announcement. Yes, gamer frustration is understandable about a sequel going to a home console that didn't even get the first game, but it's not like the Wii got Bayonetta 2. Anyway, what was stopping any other publisher from making an offer to Sega to either publish the game or even buy the rights to it ?

I never played the first one, since I don't own a Ps3 or a Xbox360, but the game looks very interesting.

So this one I think I will get. ^^
 
The most interesting thing about this news, and this thread, is how highly regarded the first Bayonetta now seems to be around here.

What? Find a way to play the first. Surely it will get some kind of a WiiU port before the sequel releases, otherwise I don't understand their logic.

It would have been too much of a financial risk I assume.
I don't think Nintendo intends to make much profit out of the game itself, rather than getting some fans to buy the new console.

Now? Is this your first Bayonetta thread? It was no. 4 in our game of the year rankings. It may not have super broad appeal, but it's always been a favorite on GAF (generally speaking), and there was a lot of excitement surrounding it even before release. I must have played that demo a dozen times.

Except the original bayonetta has always been that highly regarded. So either you haven't read much about bayonetta on here at all (in which case your post makes no sense) or you are trying to imply something that isn't there.
 
Well, maybe this is the reason I,m going to get Wii U. Same situation when I decided to get Gamecube because of RE:Remake and RE4....

Was voted fourth in GAF's 2010 GOTY thread, too. Bayo has always had a strong fanbase here.

-shrugs- Maybe my humor isn't what I thought it to be. The joke was in the fact that the game didn't sell very well so you wouldn't expect the shit storm that it garnered, thus it was probably mostly fueled by people who never owned the game to begin with but instead are just looking for a reason to flame Nintendo.

I figured that was implied, a joke isn't a good joke if you have to explain it so I obviously failed in that regards. Ah well.

Agreed. It's going well beyond just having the "misfortune" of buying another system if you want to play it. It's especially ridiculous knowing you wouldn't be playing the game at all had this not happened. Hell, you might be playing a smart phone version of Bayonetta for all we know, so be thankful it's here and it will be optimized to boot.
 
Just saw the "steal our games" post. Good lord, I really hope that poster is a child and not a functioning member of society.

I am too excited for this game. I was giddy all day yesterday after the reveal. Did they give a release window on it? Kamiya said they've been working on it since the first released, according to Joystiq.
