The Monster Hunter betrayalton was Tri going to Wii after having been announced for PS3. At that point, there were some raised eyebrows so 3G going to 3DS wasn't completely unexpected.

The big freakout with MonHun on 3DS was that both 3G and 4 were announced for 3DS at the same event. In many people's eyes, that sealed the deal, and Vita's fate.

Nintendo's not playing this generation. :p

Wow, I guess Bayonetta must have been an amazing game if this generated 5000 response from Gaffers. Too bad about the PS3 version, I will sadly never experience it :(

No PS3/360? I hope this game sucks more than NG3. Fuckin exclusives.

So only positive opinions are allowed to be voiced?

Please tell me what other games we are only allowed to have positive opinions about.

You weren't stating your post as an oppinion though. You were flat out saying the game is mediocre. Without even saying why.

The behavior of people in this thread in really puzzling.

Imagine if Nintendo fans bitched about very multiplatform game that didn't end up on Wii of WiiU Oh the humanity.

Grow up people, acting like children.

I think Nintendo fans are used to it by now. Those who are fans of the HD consoles never had to deal with this scenario till now.

Did you forget when Nintendo fans bitched because RE5 didn't get a Wii version given how RE4 on Wii was so good and sold so much?....because I didn't.

not really but I remember they complaining about the decision to bring that horrible dead rising port instead

Now you are grasping at straws. I am not going to start typing "in my opinion" after every statement. It is assumed.

Being a fan of niche games is hard I know. Most of the games I care most about get little attention on GAF. Be happy that your game does but learn to accept dissenting voices.

There can definitely be complaints. Let's not pretend like Nintendo fans are innocent protectors of truth and reason, here.

If there is a disparity (and I think there is), I think it primarily derives from expectations, rather than that Nintendo fans are better superior people. That is, we are all accustomed to Nintendo missing out on third party games, so getting upset every time a game is missed would leave one in a constant, perpetual state of frustration and anger. By contrast, Sony and Microsoft losing software (although that didn't actually happen here, it's simply the perception) feels like an inversion of the status quo, a disruption of the norm. People are much more likely to get aggravated by disruptions in their expectations; it's just human psychology.

If the situation was truly reversed, and it was Nintendo who had the lion's share of third party support, I'm sure Nintendo fans would also react with shock when the "norm" was disrupted and some game they wanted ended up on the MS console.

Okay, so being roundabout doesn't work with you.

Let's try being direct:

In what ways is Bayonetta a mediocre game?

How can you plan on *any* such thing at this stage when we know so little?

I know I can plan on it because I've never bought a microsoft console and I don't plan to start next gen either ;). I rarely use windows either unless I want to play me some nice PC games, and I'm hoping once steam goes to Linux I can ditch windows completely. I'm just not a fan of the way microsoft does business.

I played the game unpatched on the PS3 (and therefore with hilarious load times on top of the frame rate issues) and it's still probably my favourite game of the last ten years. It is a good enough game that you should play it by any means.

I should note, however, that I played it in 480p and the performance is worse at higher resolutions. At 480, the frame rate only dips notably in the prologue and chapter 15.

Did you forget when Nintendo fans bitched because RE5 didn't get a Wii version given how RE4 on Wii was so good and sold so much?....because I didn't.
If Nintendo didn't publish Bayonetta 2, it wouldn't exist. Same can't be said for RE5. Also, every major Wii/Wii U exclusive has had meltdowns such as MHTri, DQX, and Bayonetta 2. Wii gamers only had one meltdown over RE5 but there were tons of PS360 titles.

People demanding the game be ported to Xbox 360 or PS3, obviously bought and loved Bayonetta 1. It's always sad when, an IP that was established one system becomes exclusive to another. All the bitching happened when: Resident Evil went Gamecube exclusive, when Final Fantasy went Sony exclusive etc

I really can't believe Capcom didn't make a RE in the same exact style as RE4 Wii version. That formula and gameplay was perfect! But no we get some more on-rails games.

I'm not grasping at straws at all. You trying to defend your shitty post is quite funny however.

You very clearly stated that bayonetta was medicore, without giving any reason for your "oppinion".

Let me ask you then, in your oppinion, why is bayonetta mediocre? I mean, most critics and people that enjoy that genre seems to think bayonetta is an extremely good game.

Hey, there is a difference. GOW was always a PS3 exclusive, Bayonetta was not. I have the game and I want to continue her "story" on the same platform.

Yet if this game wasn't an exclusive it would never had seen the light of day.

This has been said ad infinitum by now. I should stop posting in this thread, 25 posts holy shit.

Hehe. I just woke up and I find this POS news.

Okay.
Just to inform you, the word is that Nintendo actually saved and funded Bayo2.
So, basically its Nintendo or nothing.

I think the general consensus on GAF (and pretty much everywhere else) was:
This game is Devil May Cry but at least ten times as good.

That's because it is.

Oh my god I just thought of something:

I found it absolutely hilarious if Bayo2 somehow referenced the awesome awesome Rapid Bazooka Boots glitch. Or even ascend that glitch into an actual technique.
That's be awesome. The game was super easy because of that, but it was OH SO MUCH FUN to blow everything up :D

A WiiU owner should bitch about a multiplatform game not being on the console if the demand is there. No need to imagine.

Live gold.

And you don't think there's any possibility of sufficient interesting exclusives not dependent on multiplayer that the console without Live isn't worth it?

I'm a Live Gold subscriber now, but I wasn't for several years that I owned a 360 for - there were enough games that I wanted with interesting non-online gameplay that it was enough to tip the balance for me.

That said, I can understand some scepticism given all the talk about adding multiplayer components to titles, but I wouldn't consider any of that set in stone.

Okay, so now it's no longer all exclusives, just exclusives which switch platforms. All right, I have two questions.

1) Are you aware that all evidence suggests this game was cancelled, and that Nintendo revived it? The alternative to Bayonetta 2 on the Wii U is not PS3/360, it is nothing at all. Do you still object?

2) Would you object if the game were announced for PS4/720? Because if it were, you would need to buy a whole new platform to play it, which is apparently your primary objection.

Then you should probably be annoyed at Sony for not actively pursuing a title you were interested in. I'm sure they were quite capable of doing just what Nintendo did.

Of course nothing is set in stone, I just think keeping multiplayer gold is likely since its been that way for so long.
