Disney rips off an Anamanaguchi song for their "PIXEL'D" App

His name rings a bell. Something related to the Bit.Trip games, could it be?

Edit: Yes, St. Google told me the band featured 2 songs on Runner.

Disney deleted comments and now moderated, lol

Really? I didn't know that. Amazingly, I tried the game for the first time last saturday and thought the music rocked (the game too, 4 player co-op is a blast!), so now I know the reason why. I'm definitely going to check out more songs from them.

Holy shit, that is blatant. I love Anamanaguchi's music, and it's really sad to see that they got ripped off.

Then again, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I suppose.

What the hell is chip-music?

Are you new to the internet? There's this thing called Google that might be able to help you.

Don't really care for the ripoff version or the source, but this sux for the original creators if they weren't involved at all with the trailer.

so i'm no disney connoisseur, nor virtuoso of chiptune, but i can't rightly agree that it's a blatant ripoff. it sounds like anamaguchi-inspired chip, true and audible, and the arpeggio is pretty similar to be sure, but doesn't really sound like the same progression just crammed in a different key, and a bitcrushed 2a03-esque triangle can only sound different a few times :/

i can't claim authority at all here, but i doubt this was anything beyond an uninspired promo music intern. if i've failed to hear anything glaringly obviously stolen, i blame my laptop speakers because reasons.

Oh yeah that's definitely an Anamanaguchi song. They have a pretty unique and unmistakable sound. They can sue right?

Didn't Disney used Utada Hikaru's song in one of their ice skating shows with out permission some time ago? Seems like a running thing with them.

So what is this Tamagotchi guy gonna do? Sue Disney?

C'mon man, it's uncool that you'd downplay it. They're a small band trying to make a living at making music -- they don't need a giant media corporation like Disney ripping their stuff off without credit, regardless of how improbable it is they can retaliate legally.
