Mother Jones: "Romney Tells Millionaire Donors What He REALLY Thinks of Obama Voters"

I appreciate the idea. One of the things that’s frustrating to me is that in a typical day like this, when I do three or four events like this, the number of foreign policy questions I get are between zero and one.

Whoa. Romney is an idiot. I didn't actually think it before, but Romney is a bona-fide idiot. This is him, at a closed door fundraiser, speaking honestly, saying that he wishes the focus was more on foreign policy.

Host of the private fundraising dinner tosses Romney under the bus?

Marc Leder said:
In a statement first given to Fortune, Leder says: "I hosted a fundraiser for an old friend in May. I believe all Americans should have the opportunity to succeed, to improve their lives, and to build even better lives for their children. I have supported people from both political parties who share this view and make it a priority, even though their ideas on how to achieve it may differ."

and it comes full circle with his hasty statement about the embassy attacks last week... with full of Fail on Mitt's part

I think there is a real chance he doesn't understand that he is CONSTANTLY on-mic and on-camera. ffs

As interesting as this election is, I think the next one could be a the most insane ever.

New SHIT

Fucking scum bag dude.

Can someone explain to a non-American what this means? As in, what happened with Carter and why would he want to duplicate it?

the US embassy in Iran was taken over by Iranian revolutionaries and the US diplomats were taken hostage.

during the 1980 election, Carter was seeking re-election against Reagan and this hostage crisis bogged Carter down and helped Reagan winning in 1980

upon Reagan's inauguration, the hostages were freed. Many speculate there was a backroom deal between Reagan and the Irianians to hold onto the hostages until his election and blablabla

so Romney, in this video, says that if an oppurtunity as such would arise, he would take advantage of it

Real speculation or "speculation"?

Oh okay, thanks!

I think that is exactly what happened. Apparently Carter was informed that the hostages were freed during Reagan's inaguration speech.

many Republicans are trying to peg the narrative on Obama to be another Jimmy Carter with the idea of being weak on foreign policy instead of being a hawk. (even if Obama increased the amount of drone attacks and hit Al-Queda the hardest especially with the whacking of Bin Laden

New SHIT

Mitt Romney was his May 17 Florida fundraiser — the subject of now-ubiquitous leaked video — how he could "duplicate" the 1980 hostage crisis scenario, credited with defeating Jimmy Carter.

In response, the presidential candidate said: "I mean, if something of that nature presents itself I will work to find a way to take advantage of the opportunity."

Well yeah when one of your campaign advisers says dog whistle shit like this:
Romney Foreign Policy Adviser Richard Williamson said:
There’s a pretty compelling story that if you had a President Romney, you’d be in a different situation... For the first time since Jimmy Carter, we’ve had an American ambassador assassinated.
It's pretty damn obvious.

Unlike the guy below who drove the aircraft carrier and bombed Saddam himself. Obama was just too subtle for their taste.

Yeah the Carter comments are probably worse than the 47% comments. The latter speaks to an economic credo that's completely fabricated yet appeals to conservatives already (particularly trailer-trash white folks who do indeed fall under the 47% but would rather blame black people), the former is actively hoping for an international crisis to cause Obama to fumble the ball.

His shenanigans during the Libya crisis were deplorable.

So, I guess my question is, when Obama is giving his victory speech on election night, will he have to say "Now, now. He ran a good campaign." when referring to the concession call from Romney?

If Bush had gotten Bin Laden he'd have his face on Mount Rushmore before the year was out.

Obama gets him and it's "B-b-b-but Obama's bragging about killing him QQ!!" (despite, y'know, explicitly stating he didnt want to do that, and not mentioning that Bush had a fucking victory parade for himself for toppling Hussein's govt.) Then it was "B-b-b-but the SEALs killed him and Obummer's trying to take credit!!" (and OBL didn't fly the planes. Also, anything bad that happens is directly Obama's fault and his alone because he's directly in charge of everything ever.) Now it's "Killing Bin Laden was a bad decision Obama made because it pissed off the Islamists!!"

Give me fucking strength.

He went out of his way to praise McCain's character in 2008. I can't imagine he'll be making any such overtures this time.

2008: "John McCain is a decent family man, we just have fundamental disagreements on how we should run the country."

2012: "Mitt Romney's a fuck"

I think there is a real chance he doesn't understand that he is CONSTANTLY on-mic and on-camera. ffs
Dude thinks he's still a CEO of a private company sitting at the top of the 112th floor, and can say whatever the fuck he wants. Notice how at ease and fluent Romney was behind closed doors in front of millionaires. That's the flock he's from.

Recalling those reports about Obama growing to despise Romney as the campaign ramped up, I wonder how he feels about him given the last week and half. He's probably livid in private.

Being President and all, I think he probably feels he has bigger fish to fry at the moment.

I said it and I'll say it again: it was the first time I saw Romney looking lively, sincere and with some fire in his belly.

He is the most perfect representation of the people that are ruining America and much of the Western world.

I don't think they're worse. At least not on the natioal stage.

Him admitting he’s a weasel politician who will jump on any political opportunity handed to him seems like a given. Though it does paint the whole Libya fiasco in much clearer picture, I think more people are and will be concerned about the 47% comments. Especially since he's already known to be a spoon fed rich boy.

I don't mean that Obama would be sitting in the corner and stewing over Romney, but I would imagine his personal feeling towards Romney has gotten substantially worse.

Yeah they are worse but also hindsight was more or less established after how quick he was to bash Obama in the middle of the ME rioting crisis so I have a feeling it won't get nearly the mileage. He already took some huge lumps for the Egypt 'apology' comments as it clearly came across as political opportunism. Think the only ones that look bad from Romney's comments are the ones who tried to defend his stance in the first place. The reason the 47% comment is gaining so much quick traction is it was verbal condemnation of half the electorate, a good deal of which was wrongly implied to be basically all Obama supporters.

I believe the currently preferred nomenclature is Odumbo, judging from recent YouTube comments.
