As a kid I built so many Transformers out of Lego...this one is really impressive & original. Click through above to see the transformation.

Very cool. I'd have to say that this is up there for me, in terms of Transformer-based Lego. The fact that both the vehicle and robot forms are such excellent MOC models in their own right is what does it for me. Crazy stuff.

Don't care about Transformers but that is quite neat feat.

I want to see someone make a MCV from Command&Conquer, one that can be unpacked into a Construction Yard.

Amazon Warehouse SSD for 341.99
Condition: Packaging may have minor damage. Item is in excellent condition.

Up for grabs if anyone wants it!

Also, a less good deal:
Grand Emporium for $130.49
Condition: Packaging may have minor damage. Item is in excellent condition.

Dammit LegoGaf, I pulled the trigger on the SSD. I also signed up for the Visa Card (didnt use it though, take that Amazon / Visa!) and got another $50 off. SSD shipped for $291, not too shabby.

Yes, please. Love the Creator homes, and that Spidey set should come with JJ and Doom apparently.

But the modular expansion pack intrigues me the most.

Calm Killer

In all media, only true fans who consume every book, film, game, or pog collection deserve to know what's going on.
Are they figure or vehicle expansions? Perhaps sidewalk extensions? Or behind building extensions? So many possibilities.

SO EXCITED!!! WHAT COULD IT BEEEEEEEEE! damn the anticipation.

Maturity, bitches.
While I've been saving for this year's winter set, I annually get someone else an advent calendar. With the free delivery offer I thought I'd get their calendar now. It was only with about 15 minutes to go (offer ends midnight tonight...or now I should say its ended) I realised I needed to spend £50. Guess I've ended up with a few cheap sets now to make up that extra £25.

Well I guess I can look forward to some small builds and I haven't bought Lego in a while.

Another thought is that they could be additions to the MiniMods to bring them up to date.

But I worked so hard at designing the missing mini-modulars! D:

Haha, I wouldn't be mad though. It would be cool to see what LEGO would do to make the Pet Shop and Town Hall.

Maybe I'll hold off on ordering the pieces for the my custom designs to see if they are making official new mini's.

Oh God, this list makes me wet.

I want Spiderman and I hope he appears in a cheap set. Glad I held out from buying the recent set.

Creator is always interesting. Lone Ranger has possibilities but we know too little yet.

Galaxy Squad - I hope it's something like Starship Troopers.

Technic - Always interested in a formula/indy-type racing car. I wonder if those "Action" sets include some sort of motor.

Modular - I think it'd be nice if there were smaller modular sets - 16x32 instead of 32x32 for example. Or you could even do 16x16 to make some kind of park or shopping mall.

I would love to see interior furnishings packs.

Another thought is that they could be additions to the MiniMods to bring them up to date.
I thought mini mods as well. But I think it would be cool to make a mini modular of the new one and have it as a promo for getting the building.

Reading back through the thread.. I'm still annoyed I never got a wind up robot guy or a gladiator minifig in all my buys of those series.

Reading this thread makes it hard not to run out to the store immediately.
However My wife did make me buy the haunted house recently and then picked me up the zombie couple set too.

Now I just need someplace to assemble and put all these things..

Wind up robot's my favourite minifig, him and the programmer were the ones I HAD to get.

GAAAHH!! I can't win!

So, I've been wanting to make a big purchase so I can get the free zombie dragster and I'm in the fortunate position of having 3 Lego stores not too far from my house. Ontario, Disneyland and Glendale. I wanted the Vampyre Castle to be my big purchase, so I called Disneyland and Ontario. No Castles. Glendale Galleria had a few left so I drove all the way down there and purchased the large set. (The most expensive Lego purchase I've made thus far.) Lo and behold, completely out of the zombie dragster. :-(

I should have called I guess. I can get that Vampye Castle at any local Wal-Mart and not have to drive for a half-hour for nothing.

BTW, I also picked up the monster keychain, but only for the minifig. Does anyone know how to disconnect the chain from the minifig?

About halfway through the second book for Fire Brigade and I think I finally understand why you don't want to spoil this set for yourself. Brilliant, just brilliant.

Soldering iron apparently works:

Final day of free shipping. And I just got hit with my dentist bill. $400. Yeah, don't think I will be going plum crazy in October for double VIP. Think I will just have to settle on one single set and order today for the free shipping, which nets about as much as the extra VIP.

Haunted House, here I come.

:( That's no fun.

I'll make you feel better; I paid around $2,300 in car maintenance in the last month. HH is going to be a while.

But it's ok because I haven't had time to play with Lego in the last month anyway, so I still have sets that are sitting around. Like the contest one. I'll try to do something tonight.

morale of the story is: look after your teeth for double VIP sake :p

*sorry dude :)
Oh, I do. But insurance only pays for half of a crown. Fun fun.

EDIT: And also my wife got the flu this past week, so some unexpected doctor expenses there from her, so I might need to help her pay student fees next week.

Okay, I need some MOC pro help.

Basically, I'm building a Lego part to add articulation to another model, something like this:

ropki.jpg

The idea is that two parts (glued onto the top and bottom plate pieces) can be folded close or away from each other, while the flag piece will hold another piece that needs to hinge relative to the top part.

Questions:

1) Is there a cleaner way to do this with other parts? My knowledge on any new clever bricks made since 1990 is kind of rusty. I'm mostly concerned that the robot arm pieces won't hold up to rotation, but that might be helped by stabilising it with an inner rod piece.

2) Speaking of which, is there a rod that is fairly long, without any handles or such, that I can just cut into the length I need for the top beam? Or should I get something like a knight halberd and cut it down?

3) Is there a better part to use as the bottom, rather than the modified 2x1? I'm thinking the horizontal space might not fit two of those plus the width of the folding parts.
