is it just me or do some movies dont look as sharp as they should look? on the ps3 stream.

transformers looks only decent on my tv but the dreamworks shorts, especially the puss and boots one looks phenomenal. maybe the longer movies need a lot more time to look their very best?

Shitty encode that was zoomed & cropped. It will look horrible regardless when that happens.

Wait, when were Before Sunrise and Before Sunset removed from streaming? Damn, forgot to watch Before Sunset in HD while I had the chance. Oh well, hopefully they both get a Blu-ray release soon.

They've been gone for awhile now. I'm sure there will be some kind of re-release. They just finished filming on the third film.

looks like that movie Machinegun Preacher was put up at some point. anyone see it? i popped into the queue. (ew the RT score is bad.)

im excited for Sherlock S2 and Walking Dead S2.

How is this? I've been curious about it but is it just like a teen vampire drama? I'm not exactly the target demographic for this show, but I enjoy True Blood.

Yep it skews more toward the younger female crowd (which pretty much applies to almost everything aired on the CW). Lots of young, pretty people in a high school setting even though most of the characters are technically hundreds if not thousands of years old. I can see why dudes might be turned off (especially by the horrible title...might as well call it Twilight the Tv Series) but I think the vampires, werewolves, witches, and supernatural stuff end up making the show quite palatable. I think its a fun show.

And of course this: http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/03/22/the-vampire-diaries-why-guys-should-watch-2

It's pretty bad. Boring action flick where the protagonist slaughters tons of bad guys, inexplicably mashed up with an even more boring, feel-good contemporary Christian redemption movie you'd expect to play on CMT or something.

It's definitely not a christian redemption movie, though it does start out that way.

Anyway, I loved it. It's based on the real life of Sam Childers and I thought it was a pretty good action flick. Gerard Butler was great, so was Michelle Monaghan.

I enjoy True Blood and I enjoy The Vampire Diaries; not as much though. I'm definitely not the target demographic either so I would suggest checking it out.

The one thing I'm getting tired of across the board with vampire movies/shows/stories are vampires whining, "Oh, I wish I was human. Oh, I hate killing things to live forever. Woe is me." They're super powered immortal badass mofos. If I was I would embrace that to the fullest.

Thanks for answering. I may check a couple of episodes out sometime.

That's sort of what turned me away from even tuning in. That teen angst type drama. I agree, if I'm a vampire I'm gonna embrace the hell out of it. ;)

Australian version of Red Dawn. Not bad.

Man our Netflix content is so bad lol

Anyways, is Being Human (UK) worth watching?, sounds like something I'd enjoy.

It is. Love the first few seasons of that show. Great cast, great premise, and a nice mix of drama & dark humour at times. I didn't like the US show, but loved the UK one.

S2 of Sherlock is aweeeeeeesome. first EP was really great.

How dare you bad mouth Ronin, arguably still has some of the best car/chase scenes put on film.

that is almost the only thing that movie has going for it. it was never a good film. it has a few redeeming qualities though. like car chases.

I've seen just the first season so far and some of the lovey dovey stuff is pretty excruciating. Fortunately, it's balanced out by some decent characterization for the characters who aren't the two leads, some decent action sequences and surprising plot twists. Not great television but entertaining.
