FIFA 13 on iPad + fling controller is sweeet.

More of a refinement of last year's version, but now with online. Player's models are significantly better, but the lightning is flat, so it still has that last gen look.

Kinda crazy that I can buy a fully featured FIFA plays on both my iPad and my iPhone, with iCloud saving and online mode included, for $7.

I hope people that are into adventure games will check out The Last Express. It's easily one of the better ones available on the Appstore and for its time it was a pretty ambitious game. This is taken from its Wikipedia:

The Last Express is unique for taking place in almost complete real-time, albeit accelerated by a factor of six.[4] The player can also rewind and occasionally fast-forward time at will. The game begins at 7:14 p.m. on July 24, 1914, and ends at 7:30 p.m. on July 27 (if the player has reached the proper ending). The only events during which the game does not proceed in real-time are times when Cath is sleeping or unconscious, as well as a few cutscenes. One of the game's most notable uses of this technique during a concert, in which two of the non-player characters perform a piano/violin duet that lasts approximately twenty minutes of real-time: the player character is free to sit down and enjoy the music, or move as he pleases. The game's some thirty characters have their own artificial intelligence and individual agendas, moving around to accomplish their goals, or changing their plans due to player intervention.[2] In this way, the game has a higher replay value than a similar-length linear game, with no two playthroughs exactly alike. Additionally, the game features multiple endings; about thirty are "fatal", in which Cath is killed or arrested, and four are "non-fatal" endings, of which only one is considered to be the proper ending.

I hope the port does the game justice.

I am totally getting The Last Express. I had a gaming magazine as a kid with a full walk through of the game that I must have read a 100 times. I never played it and I've forgotten everything from the walk through. This is going to be great.

So I finally bought and played Rayman Jungle Run... god damn this game is beautiful and good.

Now, this is how you do a platformer on touch screen devices.

You mean runner. There are a host of fantastic platformers on the system that require more than one hand to play.

I remember reading Edge's Making of: Last Express (the PDF is on Jamie Russel's, the author, website, so I assume that the PDF is legal) and I was very fascinated by the sound of the game. I've never got around playing it, but I'm looking forward to the iOS release very much.

It wasn't meant to be out for ages, and when it does come out it'll be a limited release on the Canadian store only.

It's odd that it'll be out in Cananda before anywhere else. I know the guy who funded the game is from there so I guess he requested they get it first? lol Doesn't make sense, oh well.

So I got Galaxy on Fire 2 iCloud save to work on my iPhone, I even deleted the game twice and reinstalled to see if it worked right, but I can't seem to import my save to my iPad. The iCloud slot shows up in my iPad but the save file does not show up, has anyone got saves to work between iPhone and iPad through iCloud in this game or is that not possible?

It's pretty standard with games like this, actually. Release in Canada a few weeks early as a beta test to iron out bugs and get the server working before rolling out worldwide. Everyone does it, even EA released Tapped Out there first, although they seemed to forget the "iron out the bugs before rolling out worldwide" part.

Oh, I didn't know that. I'm use to seeing games start in New Zealand and work their way around the world, with the exception of some Japanese games.

I'm holding out for the next First Touch Soccer before I dip into FIFA.

I just finished Bastion, it was aaaawesome. Such a rad game. Controlled perfect too with the virtual controls, the only time I struggled was with the Calamity Cannon proving ground, but I probably could have made it easier for myself if I upgraded the cannon all the way. Definitely one of the best iOS games I've played.

Now for Walking Dead chapter 2!

Australia is also common... any English-speaking territory really.

i still need to play GOF 2. keep avoiding it cause the amount of content intimidates me haha :(

Play it. It's not that long.

I finally got around to playing it this week. Finished the main story + Valkyrie expansion in 8-9 hours. And I just started Supernova :)

Super MAMC is ridiculous. 2 minute timer makes the game so much better imo, kind of like Pac Man CE. Definite pick up if you liked the original

No, I meant what I said. I find the majority of platformers (except for a couple) to be terrible on a touchscreen. And that's just really a limitation that you don't have a controller. What really bugs me about the average platformer, is that can only ever run at one speed, since there's usually no analog control or run button.

Yea, Rayman Jungle Run, by definition is a runner, but calling it that will have people confuse it as just another endless runner, which its not. Given the limitations of a touch screen, I find Jungle Run to be more playable than regular platformers on iOS.

But that's just me.

I'm new to the iOS scene coming from android. Can I get some game recommendations? I already own Rayman, Ghost Trick , and Final Fantasy Dimensions. That should give you an idea of my tastes. I would also like app recommendations but I'm not sure if this is the best thread to ask that in.

I know it's taboo to self-promote here on GAF, but my full guide is up on The Room if you're stuck: http://goo.gl/WRQ3H

That's all I'll say on the matter, and the game is a lot of fun to figure out on your own anyway so you shouldn't use it unless absolutely necessary. Seriously, try every last possible way on your own before consulting a guide, you'll thank me later.

Does anyone know how you advance ranks in Outwitters? Do you just have to be first in your leauge? I re-downloaded it recently, I could have sworn that the first time I got to Bronze League I was like third or so in Fluffy League and got bumped up after winning six or seven games in a row. I'm on a pretty long win streak right now and still no promotion, I'm wondering if you need a certain number of points or something like that.

Super Monsters Ate My Condo has the limelight today (and good to see people liking it), but PikPok also released Flick Kick Goalkeeper. A lot harder than Flick Kick Football and not as fleshed out, but free to see if there is something there for us to build on.

Flick Kick Goalkeeper - FREE

Can you save the match for your team? Show your skills and keep the opposition out! Dominate strikers with power-ups and bring in defenders to reduce their options.
