PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

normal subs purchased from the Store do stack, but some of the ones we make to use at events are designed to not stack so we don't see a huge gaming of the system from events. The PAX ones may not stack I'm afraid, but they're perfectly sharable for friends without Plus.
Not sure if you can answer this, but do you know when the EU stores will get the Spyro PS1 games? They've been out in the US for ages, but nothing here...

Picked up Tokyo Jungle last night with the plus discount. Even things like that make the sub more than worth while, Given that I paid £30 for 12 months that's £2.50 a month, the saving on TJ was £2.00 so means this months additional stuff is costing me 50p for all the games, auto updates, cloud saving...

Still struggle to work out why people say that plus is a waste of money. Would have subbed for even longer if I thought Sony would support it through to 2015 lol

btw HMV still have their 365 day cards at £30

Thanks for the heads up, might go to HMV at dinner and get one, I'm subbed until October next year now but Plus is great value, and will only get better with additional Vita stuff included in the price.

I think the reason some say it's a waste of money is that they expect to be able to keep the games after they stop paying, which is just ludicrous. At between £2.50 and £3.33 per month depending on the yearly price, they really expect to be able to keep the games that are on offer after they stop paying? I don't understand that line of thought personally.

Exactly, if you ask me £3 a month to rent over 100 games (given my current PS+ subscription is over 14 months old) each and every month, get discounts to new releases, get cloud storage and auto patch downloading is value for money. How people think that Sony would GIVE you £300-£400 of software to keep just for £40 a year is beyond thinking. I'm also looking forward to the Vita stuff, it's actually holding me off purchasing a few digital games at the moment. Subbed till May 2014 and quite happy with that.

Its SCEE so a "Bumper month" means we are ether getting the content Bumped from August/september like CS:Go and Dyad or a ton of content in October is getting Bumped to later months because thats how the EU PSN rolls.

Don't forget 50Hz. They'll reprogram every PSN game to only run at 50Hz.

I think bumper month comes from the term bumper crop which means more plentiful than usual. I imagine October through December will be very rich in content to rival the WiiU launch. Since new PS3s come with a free month of Plus, they will want to make a very good first impression.

I hope so. I'm almost done with all my pre-orders for this year, two games pre-ordered, one coming and other just arrived. The rest will be up to PS Plus.

Also, my problem with Read Dead Redemption was solved. I deleted everything and download & activate it again and the game never had more issues. Thanks for the tips guys!

Maybe there's a Bumper Stumpers game coming to PSN and Plus gets it free day one?

Seriously though Bumper just means "great", "good" etc. "Bumper Crop" is a term I've herd to describe a great harvest season for example.

ok, that shitty "tiles do not appear" thing on the shop is getting out of hands now.

they "tried" to "fix" it by do many folders where they only store 5 (6?) items in. well it works and is superannoying to click trough!

and now.... i just wanted to DL the Starhawk stuff. guess what?

half of it is NOT DOWNLOADABLE because it wont show up. blank tiles over blank tiles.
WTF is this shit and why is it going on for months now?!
FIX THAT! and no, i don't want to wait for the update of the store....
I noticed last night when downloading this stuff that the listing in the PS+ section still doesn't show everything up. After downloading everything from there I decided to double check and search for Starhawk and there was more + labelled stuff that was free. :/

If I've been missing things from the store these past few months because of this I'll be annoyed.

Starhawk's micro-DLC (costumes, etc) is one of those things that they didn't really push much, but if you look at the weekly PS Blog updates they always mention the free avatars and the like they put up for PS+ members.

I got a refund for buying the Starhawk MP Pass, so now I can buy the proper MP. Good stuff Sony, your customer service is vastly improved from years ago. Less than 24 hours from request to refund.

wow, i'm suprised. I always assumed there was a no refund policy, with no exceptions.

did they resist at all, initially? or did they just do it right away?

There was no resistance. She took my info and said she would forward it to the claims department and i would hear within 15 days. I heard in less than 24 hours.

The toughest part was explaining what I meant by "i bought the wrong starhawk", since there are so many variances on there and the update had just happened the night before. But she said several people had the same issue.

I am surprised as well at the ease, but I am glad about it. I think as long as you are a customer in good standing this is a no brainer for them to do. If you abuse the refund every week I think they would look at it differently.

Among active PlayStaion Plus subscribers, 97 percent describe themselves as satisfied or very satisfied with the service.

That's impressive, if true. Though I think there's still a lot they could do to make the service greater. Automatic cloud saving (save local and sync with server automatically) with a bigger storage (5GB+ - Gmail, yahoo gives more than that and Sony's own picture storage thing gives you 5GB free) would be great. Automatic trophy sync would also be welcome.

Still though, good job on the service, I might eventually sign up.

I don't remember being asked if I was happy with it. I'd say I'm moderately satisfied if that's an option. I prefer more full retail games even if they're kind of sucky ones like Starhawk.

That's pretty awesome.

As for your suggestions... what? They already have auto-cloud backup. When your system turns itself on it will backup all saves you have it set to auto-backup. 1GB is a great step in the right direction and that's fine for me - all of my saves no reside in the cloud with 700MB still left over. So i don't really see the need for 5GB.

It already auto-syncs your saves and trophies. I think you are misinformed about what it actually does.

And the 1GB we get now is huge for saves. I have 150MB of saves for nearly 200 games total. Most are tiny, tiny saves.

definetly a satisfied subscriber. The only problem: finding the time to play all of them. Still haven't touched Deus Ex, Oddworld Strangers Wrath and Outland we got months ago.

I am moderately satisfied, but as i don't remember being asked either. I would also like to see more retail or digital games offered on release day (like DD Neon). I would be way more satisfied with the service if they would have offered the same amount of retail games that SCEE has been rolling out since E3. Europe has gotten Motorstorm Apolypse and RDR, while the US store has been stuck with Warhammer and Ratchet and Clank all 4 One.

Kotaku just posted this article, with this tidbit inside:

Kotaku said:
Sony is adding NFL Blitz, free for all Plus subscribers. Plus subscribers will alos be able to pick up Alex Kidd in Miracle World for a dollar (usually goes for $5) and Spelunker HD for $5 (instead of 10$; DLC discounted to $1).

Not bad.

Imagine how much that number is going to go up for PS3/Vita owners soon? They'll have two instant game collections for the same price. That's a pretty huge deal, and could actually move a few Vita systems.

if the PS+ Vita games are good enough, I may just have to pick up a Vita myself.

Probably Little Big Planet, Uncharted, Gravity Rush and Hot Shots at a bare minimum. I could easily see stuff like Silent Hill: Book of Memories ending up on there at some point. I guess we'll see!

Honest question, does Vita have enough games to have it's own Instant Game Collection?
I'm guessing we might get 2 or 3 games for Vita unlike PS3s 12 game offering.

Yeah, I think so. There's more than people think. I own 7 games, and I feel like I skipped a bunch. I think 4-5 are coming out just in Oct. and Nov. It just depends on what games you're interested in I guess.

Honestly, I'm eyeing that Assassins Creed Bundle myself just to take advantage of the instant game collection. As others have said, I imagine it'll be smaller than the PS3 offerings, but even 4 or 5 games a month would make for a great value.

4 or 5 games a month would be more than the PS3. 4 or 5 games up front then 1 or 2 a month would be a lot more realistic.

I meant a total instant game colection that gives you access to 4 or 5 games per month. The Vita library is smaller overall, it's reasonable to anticipate the instant collection will be smaller as well. If it's larger than that, then all the merrier!

If you played a lot of sports games and franchises, you would see the need for it.

That would be nice, yes.
